Julia Robert's 2 year hiatus from films after 'Pretty woman'
 

What was the point in doing this after she had delivered such a huge success at the box office ?? She was at the peak of her popularity---then why did she have to take a two year break ?? Did it affect her career in any way ??

My guess is that she worked as a prostitute for a few months to get into her role, and she needed time for her vagina to recover.

I'm just venturing a guess here, but I'm pretty sure the majority of the roles that Roberts were offered after Vivian were just variations of the same and Roberts was probably afraid of being typecast. She has always struck as an intelligent woman who wanted a real film career and did not want to depend upon her looks and after a smash like Pretty Woman, she probably wanted to be very careful what to do as a follow-up and yes, that time away from the screen probably did affect her Q.
