GBGoodies's DVD Collection
 

I don't have time to write out a list of all my DVDs, but I started by taking pictures of some of my DVD shelves, and I'll post them here as I have some time. Some DVDs are categorized and/or in some type of order, but as I ran out of space, I started just putting them wherever I could find room, so there are a bunch of DVDs out of order too.

Please note that the pictures are unedited, and taken with a cheap camera, so the picture quality pretty much sucks, and the lighting is probably even worse, but they're good enough to figure out what DVDs are on the shelves. If you're trying to figure out anything about a specific DVD, feel free to ask.

Sorry for being presumptuous... I should have asked first.

You have a huge list! I always like Pinocchio as a kid. Spoiler alert, but when his friend turns to a donkey, I was pretty scared as a 5 year old.

That's okay. Most people think we have kids when they see our house. We have character toys and collectibles all over the house. There are even little PVC figures of animated characters all over my desk. We're basically two overgrown children. :D

So far, that's only the first shelf of the first DVD rack. I haven't even started yet. :D

I have to go out for a while, but I'll try to add some more to this list when I get back.

Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, Enchanted, The Incredible, and Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

All good movies. Hubby has little interest in the Disney stuff, but I like a lot of his action movies, so I've watched all his Fast & Furious DVDs. They're pretty good action movies.

How will you ever pick a musical for the musical HoF? (don't tell me I bet I can guess which one;))

I've seen bits and pieces of From the Earth to the Moon, but I haven't found the time yet to sit and watch the whole thing.

Can you tell that I love musicals? :D

I'm really looking forward to the musicals HoF. I haven't decided which movie to pick for the musical HoF, but I have it narrowed down to about 5 or 6 of my favorites. I'll probably decide at the last minute.

I have my choice for the musical Hof....but I ain't tellin':cool:

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)...is this one a little on the morbid side? If so I might have started to watch it and gave up on it.

The Pirates of Penzance is one of my favorites, but there are two versions with almost the same cast, (Kevin Kline, Linda Ronstadt, Rex Smith and George Rose). There's a movie version from 1983 and a live version from 1980. Surprisingly, the movie version (with Angela Lansbury as Ruth) is much better.

Yes, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is morbid, but for some reason, I still love it. There are several different versions of this as well, and they're all good. (At least all the musical versions are good. I haven't watched any of the non-musical versions)

The 1982 version is my favorite, probably because it's the closest to the Broadway cast that I saw live. I saw it with Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett and Len Cariou as Sweeney Todd. The 1982 version stars Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett and George Hearn as Sweeney Todd. There's also a concert version with Patti LuPone as Mrs. Lovett and George Hearn as Sweeney Todd, and this version co-stars Neil Patrick Harris as Tobias. Even the 2007 Johnny Depp version is good, but it's my least favorite of the four versions.

That was the version I saw (and shut off). So I'll have to check out the musical version.

I've never seen Linda Rondstadt in anything and I use to have a couple of her albums too. I'll add The Pirates of Penzance to my watch list.

I'd recommend watching the 1982 version of Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn. It's still a morbid story, but it's much better than the Johnny Depp version.

Make sure you watch the 1983 movie version of The Pirates of Penzance. Kevin Kline is amazing. There's also a 1982 version called The Pirate Movie starring Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol. It's based on Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, but the songs are different. It's a little bit goofy, but it's kind of fun. (I think The Pirate Movie is on YouTube.)

I like how you've sorted all of your films. Maybe I got to try something like that. Mine are just alphabetical regardless of genre.

Yeah, it worked at the beginning when I didn't have a lot of DVDs, but as I bought more and more DVDs, I ran out of room on some shelves, and I started to move the discs around, and that's when I ended up with a bunch of random sections.

I'm going to have to re-sort them again when I have time, but now that I have DVD racks all over the house, it's become a bigger project than I expected.

You have Time Tunnel seasons 1&2? I didn't know that. You might remember I watched all of the TV Time Tunnel shows like a year ago. Very fun show and James Darrin and the guy who's name I can't think of were great in it. So was Whit Bissell and Lee Meriwether.

Emergency! ...I remember that show, I use to love it when I was a kid. It ran back to back with Adam 12.

I just started finished season 1 of the Mary Tyler Moore show. I can't wait for season 2!

I've been trying to get Adam-12 on DVD, but I haven't found it at the right price yet.

one of my favorite childhood movies!

I completely forgot that I started this thread, and now it's been so long since I posted anything to it, and my DVD collection has grown so much that I'll have to start it all over again if I ever decide to try to finish it. :facepalm:

Oh I love DVD collections - I am so here for it, if you decide to keep going.

I stopped counting around 1500 DVDs, including movies and TV shows, the last time I tried counting them.

I've been looking for a good program to catalog my DVDs. If I can find one, I'll have to go through everything, so I'll try starting this list again. (I had a good free DVD catalog app, but the guy who uploaded it changed it to a monthly fee to use it, so I deleted it. :()

I have more than a few shelves of DVDs. I have about a dozen bookcases and/or DVD racks full of them. They're in every room of the house, except the bathroom.

Great collection. I'm a DVD collector too although I don't quite have your amount. Maybe around the 600 mark. I'm not one for streaming services so films are only watched on DVD or from TV.
I am rapidly running out of space but that didn't stop me ordering a further 5 from Amazon yesterday. I have an alphabetical/genre system to store them but like yourself some just get placed where you can get them.

We're actually in the process of redoing one of the rooms to try to make more shelves for DVDs, (and hopefully a nice display section for our Funko Pops). We've been working on it for a while, and it's going slow because we're not sure exactly how we're doing it. (We're just kind of winging it as we look for new furniture for that room. We don't really know what we want, but Hubby and I agreed that we'll both know it when we see it.)

Possibly my best set. 17 films of Universal monsters plus the Spanish version.

That looks like a nice set. I have a few of the Universal Monster movies on DVD, but not a box set like that.

But I have some of the Abbott and Costello Meet the [monsters] movies on DVD. Do those count? :lol:

If you ever find one, please let me know. I haven't cataloged mine yet and dont know what to use for it.

I have seen all of the Abbot and Costello movies where they meet the monsters but I don't own any of them. Guess it was quite a bizarre direction to go in but they seem to be popular.

Right now, I'm just using a text file to keep a record of what I have, but it hasn't been updated in a while. I'll let you know if I ever find a good database program or app.

Are you into those Law and Order shows by any chance since I saw CSI on here? I love SVU and the Organize Crime one, not a fan of the original Law & Order show or the other L&O shows.

Yes, I have a bunch of "Law & Order" and "Law & Order: SVU" DVD sets. I think I may have a few of the "Criminal Intent" sets too, but I'd have to check to make sure. I also have one box set of "Law & Order: LA", but I haven't watched it yet.

I still watch the new revival of "Law & Order" and "Law & Order: SVU", but I gave up on "Organized Crime". I hated everything about Dylan McDermott's character, and I thought he ruined the show.

I haven't kept up with this thread, but that hasn't stopped me from adding more DVDs to my collection. I've bought a lot of DVDs at garage sales and flea markets, but I don't have time to sort them and catalog them, so I'm just posting pictures of them in random batches.

Since I buy them mostly at garage sales and flea markets, I buy them cheap enough that there are a lot of movies here that I haven't seen yet, so if you see a movie posted that you think I should bump up in my watchlist, please let me know.
