Great Actor Who Was In MANY Bad Movies?

Actor or Actress.. List as many movies as you can and we can compare with other answers.

Someone was just telling me Sharon Stone when we were discussing the "Favorite Actor Who Was Never In A Great Movie" thread, and gave me this idea.

Robert De Niro hasn't been in a good movie in over 25 years

Robert De Niro was in Joker, The Irishman, Silver Linings Playbook, and American Hustle.

I'm a huge Nic Cage fan, but he has to be a top contender.

John Cusack is a one of my favorite actor but he made so many bad movies

He can make pretty good movies like High Fidelity, Say Anything, Identity, 1408, Hot Tub Machine

but he has also so MUCH horrible movies in his filmography

Yeah you have very 'edgy' movie taste, you're snack during a movie is probably Caviar with some Wine.:p

Re: Great Actor Who Was In MANY Bad Movies?

How exactly do you define "many" in this instance? Is there a set number or just a given percentage of an actor's filmography?

In any case, anyone who works regularly for a long enough time racks up a load of bad movies by default so unless you're John Cazale there's a good chance you've done more bad movies than good ones.

I don't eat fish eggs and wine. I don't even eat popcorn - I need to hear every single word of the movies I watch.

Marlon Brando. I don't consider him a great actor, I consider him a troubled soul, which I like. He made a lot of bad movies when he started to see Hollywood for what it is.

After "The Formula" (which had its moments, fine writing, some good ad-libbing from Marlon - "We are the Arabs"), he only made one more movie in the 80s, "A Dry White Season", but then went to do anything just for the money. It's too bad...

Prior to Speed and the Matrix franchise, Keanu Reeves made more than his share of crappy movies.

I should have said "great", but even many of those aren't good. I did like "Jackie Brown" and "Casino", but that was then, who knows what I think now after seeing many more movies and growing up. I'd like to see "Wag the Dog" after seeing it when it came out in high school for political science, because it seems we've followed that method here in the US

Richard Burton, but then he was quite open about not having much interest in being a great actor. Michael Caine's done a few duffers as well for the sake of the money.

I suppose of course that some of these films might have seemed great on paper but become distorted either in rewrites or edits that they become bad films.

Morgan Freeman was in some great movies, starting with Driving Miss Daisy. But he's been in so many turkeys that I've lost count. There for awhile it seemed like he was in every poor to mediocre film that came out of Hollywood...:)
