@Dani8Yeah, Japanese girls often look much younger, but I very often can tell the difference between a girl who just looks young and an actually young girl (experience, I guess :p).
some did can be tricky (af), but overall it's easy to tell xD since im asian
I'd say Japanese girls look way younger on average than Chinese girls. This might also be connected with the overall kawaii culture of Japan. Although, it's extreme generalization, I'd say Japanese girls are cuter, while Chinese girls are more elegantly beautiful, if that makes any sense. Korean are kind of inbetween.
yeah, that's how i thought, it's probably also involving how most jap girl usually act/behave, like the vid said above, psychological neotany

Out of these three, it's without a doubt Japanese that are the craziest about pseudo-
or actually underaged girls, a theme quite prevalent throughout manga (lolicon), porn to even mainstream films/shows to the point it became a (often shameful) part of their culture. The distinction between, lolicon and paedophilia is pretty confusing as well (not to mention the former basically means pedophilia in Japanese).
it's not lke there isnt law or regulations, like owning child porn for example , but it's still vivid i suppose, as there contradiction. lot doujinshi actually depicted and sexualize underaged -and to tell eveybody , it's totally disturbing- but hardly view as same category as child porn. it just often seen as parts of taboo culture, often justified, excuse as "to each of their own, as long they keep it to themselves" , "it's fiction, not reality/real people" such as , as long there arent crime involved.

Even more confusing is the age of consent in Japan, that allegedly is 13 years old yet apparently even a 15 years old male can be tried for having sex with a 12 years old female.
it's weird actually, as a developed country but again it's not like it socially acceptable either, by norm, never also heard the news regard. many perfectures actually already implemented their own age consent(around 18) so i guess it's already on their concern

No it's not on them and their own age consent, it's the culture. C'mon, yes it's a developed country with an undeveloped country attitude towards women. Do they still have bars decked out like a train carriage with waitresses dressed as school girls and they have to stand there while a man gropes them? Hideous. I saw it myself when I lived there. Everyone turns a blind eye to schoolgirls being groped by bastards. The only people who would do anything about it were gaijin and some university aged student. Expats would get together and talk about how horrifying this aspect of the culture was for a developed country.

And this topic really deserves it's own thread. Its interesting, plus it's a hijack.

their attitude, that age consent, was indirect reflection of their culture

i never heard this -except porn i guess xD , but i guess there lot weird, specific bars there, probably with yakuza bts . did being groped was parts of their job description then , still poor gal -or you mean in specific case like hostess bars- . this problem not only in japan , tho'

in otherside , general japan lot offer varieties for -beside the heavy sexualize one- for fetishes customers. there maid cafe, cat cafe, yankee cafe etc and i think beside how pathetic it sound for fetish fulfilness but never borderline exploitative like that bars

there these reclusive nature(of them society) encompass many aspect of their social life, like the story you just told, like every foreigners will always has "this" story. it the part that already often criticized, even among themselves. think those ppl should've been encouraged to be more reactive and participative, not just for show condescending attitude about who was the superhero at the end, that a lose

Is the man "supposed to" grope them, though? Do these waitresses work as an escort, or something, or just plain waitresses in a restaurant? If the latter, then it's one crappy behaviour from customers. I can see how many would turn a blind eye, given the "customer is more important than our employees" mindset. Of course, groping real schoolgirls on the train is even worse. But groping is kind of popular in Japan. I've seen some, ekhm, films involving it...

I used to think that Japan is a country of many fetishes, but turns out it's one big fetish. I guess we need to draw a thick line between sexual fetishes, and realizing them with a person that agrees (be it a prostitute, or your wife), and actual causes of abuse. A building profiled as a train with girls wearing schoolgirl suits seems like a typical place where you can fulfill your fetishes. That being said these girls agree to be groped (and are paid for it). That's only my interpretation of the place you're talking about, though.

Done. Let me know if you guys prefer a different title.

Re: The negative side of Japan

Personally I'd prefer the title to be more general, so that we could talk about everything Japan (and not just the negative sides), or maybe even other Asian countries, like Korea and China.

resopamenic 03-12-18 09:41 AM

Yeah the title could misleading as bashing and hate bait also xD - my bad

Me too. A thread just about negativity is pretty negative and depressing, and I think for lurkers checking out the site would not be a good thing. Plus, there is so much beauty in the culture as well. I loved my time there but I also had a very hard time with some aspects. It's a very complex culture and even japanese will say the more they know of it the less they know of it.

Yeah, it's up to reso because he is the OP but first and foremost, if a lurker was flicking through the titles to get an idea of the forum culture to see if they want to sign up which is what I do, it's pretty bad and i would join just for nefarious purposes in that thread then leave. Maybe, not sure If I would leave. I dont want to tell you how to do your job, though. It's your forum, Yods.

Re: The negative side of Japan

@Minio, it's young teen schoolgirls I was talking about where people in the carriage turn a blind eye, not the bar. They're probably escorts.

I will say, however, that I know someone who works in a pedo taskforce in my country and she knows all about those fetishes in japan because the rock spiders she is watching frequently have this stuff that reso is talking about in their libraries. It's the attitude that that kind of thing is OK. it really sickens me. Hell, there might be underground fetish bars here that have it- who am I to know, so I'm not just singling out japan. Someone who was on here sent me a nasty private message that I was full of sht when I brought this up once before. Well I can only reportn stuff I've seen or retell what someone else has told me, or what Ive seen. I saw men touching up schoolgirls and went apesht as well. I've seen it in other countries as well where people turn a blind eye. Well I'm not about to take advice from some kid who has probably never been out of his own town so I didnt reply.

Some pretty sick sht happens in underground bars in Thailand, and I mean really sick. I read an interview with Eli Roth or one of the other writers years ago and according to him Hostel was based on a real bar he w went to, if you can believe that, but I also hung out with a dutch guy who was a bouncer in the redlight district in amsterdam while I was backpacking through south east asia - the guy knew some pretty shady characters. One showed him a doco that was made with a hidden camera that had at that stage never been released (I dont know why or he told me and I cant remember)and what he told me curled my hair. I've been traumatised ever since.

I lived in north Kyoto and worked in Osaka. I vacationed there when I was 8 and my dad told me off for looking at a shelf of books with things like covers of a woman shackled in a B&D dungeon and having her nipples burnt off. This was in the lobby of a 5 star hotel. Yep. I still remember it. My traumatised 8 year old self still remembers that.Jaysus cheristi. Im short and it was right at my 8 year old's eye level.

edit to add i really like your idea for a title.

oh and sitting in waiting rooms of banks, hospitals, or on tables in coffee shops etc hoping to suck up the aircon before the official date of summer is announced no one turns it on it's very curious looking at the magazines left for clients, patients to browse through. Reso can explain this one - the official date for summer. Salary men will not wear short sleeve shirts until it;s announced and no one turns on the aircon. What the hell???

That's different, then. Whether they should be doing such things at such age, and whether their pimps are abusive towards them is a question for another discussion.

A controversial opinion, maybe, but I don't think such stuff is inherently wrong, if it's all acted, like the porn films that have pedophilia themes, but actually are performed by adults who only make themselves look like children (which mostly ends up in looking like adolescents, because an adult can't really look 10, now that's f*cked up). I guess such kind of legal, but edgy stuff is actually pretty good, because it's better for a pedophile to jerk off to a 20 years old girl who pretends to be 14 than to an actual 14 years old girl in pedophilia video, OR even worse in real life. I'd say it's better for the pedo to watch a real pedo video than to hurt a girl in real life. Of course, to make such video somebody had to commit such act, too, hence my condemnation of it.

But with animated characters it's a different thing. A cartoon character does not have an age. It may look like a little girl, but it actually isn't one, and by drawing such character the creator does not hurt anybody. By watching such stuff the watcher does not hurt anybody either. If watching such contents should stop a pedo from molesting real life girls, or watching pr0ns with real life underaged girls, I support it. I'm not into lolicon myself, so I'm not going to try and defend it as "not quite pedophilia" (I've seen enough defences from other people who like this stuff to know most arguments), though.

Burnt off? By hot, red candle wax? Well, I remember seeing some skin magazines as a kid that were there casually next to newspapers and science magazines. These were pretty vanilla stuff, though.

With one of those burner gun thingies you get from a DIY store. Bloody hell. Such a fancy hotel built on 5 acres of gardens in the middle of Tokyo and there this magazine style animated book was. I must have been like this :eek:My dad was very angry with the salesman.

He also got very angry when he visited me in Japan and they wouldnt turn on the aircon in the hotel. It was the bellboy. I told my Dad he shouldnt get angry at him because the first day of summer hadnt been announced.

i personally found this arguments too hard too swallow, i mean for that had seen it horrible as it is. but it's hard to argue "to each of their own, as long it's not harmless anyone" .
lolicon itself (i think) could be define as fetish for petit or chidllike physical attribute, not with age-open to interpretation- while pedo itself obviously attracted to prepubescent. actually the term of pedo is just for person with disorder not for the crime. even lot of it related crime not involved an actual pedo

I see where you're coming from. It basically depends on what turns a given pedophile on. Most of the time, I think, it's not just the prepubescent body, but also the knowledge that the person is underaged. When it comes to women I'm generally into rather curvy bodies, but when I saw her. *.* And her body's like a little girl's. But it doesn't make me a pedo. :P

Rightly noted. A poor, tormented person at that. I imagine there are some pedophiles that never hurt anybody and never even watched pedo pr0n their entire lives, but had to cope with their sexuality the entire time, too. That's horrifying.

Scratch my ballsack and twist my nipples, this is the most f*cked up thing I've heard today. It's like the screenplay for Srpski Film sequel. Hate it. They're already freakin' perfect, but making themselves look worse by doing this. I find it kind of funny Asian women think white women to be superior.

I read this book about a murder related to Japanese hostess culture. It's horrifying. The men in these clubs aren't allowed to touch the hostesses, if they do word travels around the various clubs in what is pretty much Tokyo's red light district and they will be banned from them all. Instead it's a bunch of foreign women in their early 20's usually who act like they're really interested in these old rich Japanese guys. They are basically waitresses to them with heavy flirting being a major part of the job. Was pretty weird, the fake families in Noriko's Dinner Table reminded me of it as the hostesses were pretty much fake girlfriends to the guys. They could pay to take them out on dates and whatever there is just zero chance of anything sexual happening, if the girls were to do anything sexual they'd be fired. The murder was by one sick POS but it was all pretty seedy and dark and sad anyway.

I guess old rich men can be pretty lonesome, so just the company of a young, attractive girl is enough for them. I'd say they're only hurting themselves even more by doing this, but it's their choice.

That means the amount of cute girls on Earth will shrink. That's not good. Not good at all. :( But yes, most highly developed countries' populations are getting older and older. That's nothing new.

Of course the "youngest looking mom and daughters" are East Asian!

41 and 36? WHAT THE HELL

EDIT: okay, I misread it's a grandmother, mother and a daughter. Obviously, it's a mother and two daughters. Sorry.

Too much make-up for my taste, so it's really hard to tell which one is oldest (it's also hard to rate them), but I'd say the one on the left looks best.

Not bad for 41 years old. Would say she's 25, or something. They're all too skinny, though. :(

japan's population will shrink from 128 million now to 80 million in 2060 .
this already long ciculated. here and there i see lot of sentiments and there prediction also by 20 years late from now them already got critical local labour/workforces problem, unless they fix that or could made anything automatic, unlikely. in otherside like the most asian country they also not so embraced immigration the way western already used for. there alo another sentiment that it shouldnt push for, like how europe countries suffer lately.
i think they prettyl open on it, in the future, it's their reclusive nature demand foreigners to follow their customed, like language.

Did you look at the article, Dani?
Those are allegedly their ages and one of them is mom to the other two.

It could all be fake, but who knows. Some of the comments accuse the photos of being heavily airbrushed - so that could be, but hey the same goes for the photos we see in most magazines.

I sent him the $50,000 so that he'll split the 50 million with me... haven't heard back from him yet! ;)

You have a clown in your crawl space? Is it like those horror movies where a family moves into a house and finds out that a crazy murdering guy is living in between the walls and crawling around the house?

Which province? I love indonesia, and there's more to it than Bali, which is also beautiful if you get away from the tourist areas.

Have you been to Indonesia, reso?

Has anyone else been to Japan? I was telling my husband the other night about pachinko parlours. Oh My Freaking god!

So Japan - Cherry blossom festival. Wow I have never experienced such utter joy. Sitting on a river bank with japanese friends, drinking sake and singing to the blossoms. Those werre the days.

The murder was by one sick POS but it was all pretty seedy and dark and sad anyway.
wow the criminal man got fascinating~in terrifying way background check

"Joji Obara was born Kim Sung Jong (Hangul: 김성종; hanja: 金聖鐘)[1][2] in 1952 to poor Zainichi Korean parents in Osaka, Japan.[3] During his youth, his father worked his way from scrap collector to taxi driver to immensely wealthy owner of a string of pachinko parlours.[4] Obara was educated at prestigious private schools as well as having daily tutoring in a variety of subjects such as languages and musical instruments. At age 15, he enrolled in a prestigious prep school affiliated with Keio University. At graduation, students are virtually guaranteed entrance to highly selective Keio University. Two years later, upon his father's death, he inherited property in Osaka and Tokyo. After graduating from Keio University with degrees in politics and law, he became a naturalized Japanese citizen and legally changed his name to Joji Obara.[4]

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Obara invested heavily in real estate speculation and became extremely wealthy, having assets estimated at as much as 38 million dollars. After losing his fortune when the bubble burst and his firm collapsed, he reportedly used his business as a money laundering front for the yakuza syndicate, Sumiyoshi-kai.[5]

Obara was a drug user, who was reported to have an fixation with western women. He developed a pattern of criminal behavior, beginning with unlawfully administering drugs to render his victim unconscious, and proceeding to abduct and rape them. Obara victimized both Japanese and Western women.[6] He recorded his attacks on videotape, 4,000 to 5,000 of which were recovered by police, leading police to believe that Obara may have raped anywhere from 150 to 400 women.[7] Police found extensive journals in which Obara made reference to "conquer play", a euphemism describing his sexual assaults on women who he wrote were "only good for sex" and on whom he sought "revenge on the world"[8] drugging them with chloroform.

I was asked to be an escort' Some of it was very classy but a lot of it is bloody dark. A girlfriend of mine was an escort - blond american, very pretty. She was getting fur coats and jewellery. She said there was no sex, and she was married to a japanese guy who I think may have been yakuza or bosozoku to say the least, She left him when she couldnt take the beatings any more and went back home. Yeah so take whatever you want from that. A lot of it is gaijin and I would say most, as Cam mentioned. a hell of a lot of it is girls offered visas, citizenship, accomodation you name it, then they find themselves as sex slaves. Really frightening stuff. I would think any japanese girls who get into it are failed geisha.

Not something for me, that's for sure.

what happen on pachinko parlors dan?
Well this thread didnt take long. I have no idea what's going on but not interested in getting involved in all that other stuff but wanted to come back to talk about this.

First off - pachinko parlors - the brutal noise and the cigarette smoke.I dont know how the hell anyone survives for hours in those things. Ghastly bloody environment. I wanted to check one out because I remember pachinko from when I visited there as a kid. My younger brother and I were obsessed so I walked in to have a look. Walked straight back out again.

What touristy stuff can you talk about with Sumatra? It's not a country, buddy. It's an island/Province of Indonesia first off .

I left singapore with my flatmate from sydney and went through Riau archipelago on a rickety old barge, you know the type that regularly capsize or burn and sink. This is way back in the late 1990s so my memory is a bit faded now but had a pretty interesting last night in snake river when pirates tried to pole vault onto the barge which we were told was a regular thing and that they were really dangerous. Gee thanks for telling me! They must have learnt that sport from the Dutch. Then from the port in Padang went straight up to Bukkittingi in the mountains to get some cooler weather.

From there I went to Siberut in the mentawai islands which was pretty primitive back then, and one of my brothers a few years ago went there with a group of old university friends to go surfing. From what he said things have really changed. I think of all the islands I have seen in indonesia Sumatra back then is probably my favourite experience in Indonesia along with Sulawesi.

Have you been to Sulawesi for a holiday?

My eldest brother went to Bali a few weeks ago with his bestie to stay in a friend's house in Candidasa I think ti was. It was his first time in Bali and he really enjoyed it when he stayed away from the backpacker ghettos full of young, drunk and very obnoxious australian bogans, and general touristy areas full of older, cashed up Australian bogans.

I'd like to go back to do a cooking course there. Indonesian food is so good, fresh and spicy. I stayed in a really beautiful resort years ago in candidasa that had cooking courses. I was there for work so didnt have spare time for one but this looks fun

It had impression as an escapist place for lowkey class workers and drifters wasting time and money. Definitely not the place you'll expect to

@Dani8

Lake Toba im north sumatera is pop place, since i'd been there, really beatiful panorama. Or probably you want to aceh for some cultural exchange with shari law xD

I see you have been here and there. Did you mean you take sailed circling sumatera by sea from riau archipelago to padang? Or roadtrip from riau?

Mentawai already much improved for what been said -some aquintance from uni told me-tho' it still got the primitive side as well.

No never been to sulawesi, the far only some parts of java. I'll love too . Idk never that big interest especially with bali -for now-
Yeah candidasa was one the famous destination/resort there ivve heard

Lol idk as native im consider it kinda unhealthy since there prominent used of palm oil and coconut milk

Yeah, dude was insane. His parents were Korean and according to the book at least Koreans in Japan were not treated well at the time and were only given menial low-paying jobs, even then they were paid less than Japanese people. Yet Obara's dad ended up very rich, it's suspected that he was involved with the Yakuza which explains his prosperity. When he died he split his property, money and businesses among his children with Joji getting the businesses. Apparently it's either Japanese or Korean can't remember which tradition to leave your business to the oldest son, but the oldest was genuinely mentally ill, there was clearly something up with that family. This happened when he was in high school, he owned a mansion near his school and he used to take classmates there to impress him. He was seen as odd even then, he made up a fake family history where he lied about his parents being Japanese as if he was ashamed of his heritage.

The girl the book is about wasn't the only one he killed. The same thing happened to an Australian about a decade before. The Australian girl had been in love with a guy back home but she moved to Tokyo for a career and she was taken to the hospital by an unknown Japanese man one day and died of suspected pnuemonia i believe. The Japanese man was obviously Joji, he later contacted and met the girls parents and told them they were engaged and that she was waiting for the right time to tell them he then gave them money for her funeral and they accepted it believing he was telling the truth as the hospital hadn't reported suspicions of foul play as there were none. It's theorized him contacting them and giving them money was out of shame for his actions as it was obviously very risky doing so. I'm not sure about that either though, he offered Lucy Blackman's parents money too to question whether the police had the right man, the mum rejected it yet the dad took it (they were seperated) The guy the Australian girl was in love with back in Australia heard about the Lucie Blackman case and got in touch with her parents who confirmed that was her supposed fiance so he got in touch with the Tokyo police. Both deaths were accidental overdoses (bad reactions to whatever he gave them i believe rather than them having too much) from the drugs he gave them to rape them, he did this to an unbelievable amount of women. He mostly went for foreigners, whenever he went for Japanese girls they were usually overweight or not conventionally attractive. Yeah, evil evil dude. It's a pretty fascinating book but definitely stomach churning.

His business was failing but he still had a lot of money and property when he was arrested. Had great lawyers. He was seen as a great businessman at first as he bought up a lot of Real Estate during the 80's and 90's when Tokyo really took off as a desirable location both for tourism and international businesses, he made millions from it but then the bubble burst obv.

Another thing that distinguishes them from your favourite kind of adult movies is the fact that the display of genitalia has been strictly forbidden in Japan, so the directors had to look for other ways to titillate the audience.

The inability to show human reproductive organs forced adult film directors to look for other ways of sexual activity that would bypass the censure. One of them was bukkake, since neither the face of an actress, nor any fluid was censored. I will finish at this, since this write-up is supposed to be about pinku films, not porn. I will only add that if you ever wondered what's the reason for all the weird fetishes to-be-found only in Japan, the little blurry circle on vaginas and penises is probably the answer.

Both genitalia and pubic hair was strictly forbidden. However, in contemporary porn films, they take way more liberties. For one, the censure mosaic is much smaller and less blurry. Pubes are alright now, I guess. Also, the censorship does not apply to anuses. Porno shot in Japan still has to abide these laws, but there are some studios that shoot their films outside of Japan and that makes it possible for them to totally ignore the censorship laws!
tl;dr: There's law that forbids showing genitalia and pubic hair, hence the mosaic.

I write more extensively on pinku eiga in my Movie Jouney thread as well as my various Movie Tab II posts scattered all around the thread, for example:

This is full-fledged porn! If compared to Sato's first film Wife Collector and his later efforts (like Rape Climax!) this is probably his most hardcore pinku eiga film, apparently growing from Nikkatsu's wish to compete with AVs that already got extremely popular in Japan in the second half of the 80's therefore diminishing people's interest in pinku eiga. All that being said, this is quite nice for a porn film and if you know Sato's interests in all these kinks and dirty fetishes you will figure out it's not exactly your vanilla sex thing neither (and is sick as hell) . Dude, I had to take my own screencap from the very beginning of the film, cuz everything else I could find on the Internet was NSFW (even if censored). Don't really know how to rate this thing, but this without a doubt isn't anywhere near his best.

Don't really have a satisfactory answer for this one. Many Asian women today shave their private parts, and even though there are also many other girls that don't, I imagine it's true for Western girls, too. A trivia is that in some pinku eiga films a man forcibly shaving a tied woman is a thing. And it's shown as an extremely shameful thing, too.

Lake Toba im north sumatera is pop place, since i'd been there, really beatiful panorama. Or probably you want to aceh for some cultural exchange with shari law xD

I see you have been here and there. Did you mean you take sailed circling sumatera by sea from riau archipelago to padang? Or roadtrip from riau?

k
No I went to Sumatra from singapore, I took a barge. It was a filthy old thing, the month before it burnt and everyone died the second month it sank and everyone died. That is what the locals told us with limited englihs (Ha! just like my spelling). the barge went through riau archipelago to get to sumatra and started at tanjung pinang whcih was amazing then finished at Padang and I went to Bukittinggi which I told you.

Where did you go in java? I only went to Jakarta which I didnt like so much but the port was pretty, Mt Bromo which was a great experience, Jogjakarta and the ferry to Bali. Javanese boys were pretty rude back then, much like Indian boys. They would get their friends to take photos of them sitting with tourist girls on the boa t then claim once the film was developed it was their girlfriend. This happened to afriend of mine who said 'Hey,that's me'. LOL Hilarious. It also happened to me. Do javanese boys still do that?

LOL. The barge was to the port. Then I took a bus up into the mountains to bukkittingi. keep up, Reso!!!

I'm just joking with that last bit. I know there is a language problem and that you cant take a barge up the mountains.

Re: East Asia Corner

I never said I did. why are you asking? There is no such thing as sailing a barge. It's a filthy fracking barge that stinks and is very dangerous, not a sailing boat, and I went through riau archipelago. When you know more about me than I do about my travels please let me know.

So what are you studying in Sumatra?
