1. The Joker (Batman)
2. Captain Barbossa (Pirates of Carribean) 3. Darth Vader (Star Wars) 4. Alien (Aliens) 5. Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street) 6. Ghostface (Scream) 7. Michael Myers (Halloween) 8. Magneto (X-Men) 9. Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) 10. Scarecrow (Batman) |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Good list but Scarecrow just wasn't fascinating enough for me. Names like Jason, Alien, Predator were just outside my top 10. Great horror/Scifi villains.

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Besides the Joker, Scarecrow is my favorite villain. Joker's humor really adds on to his personality though.
I'm just in love with the whole Alien series, and that's how it got on my top ten. Jason may be a bit obvious, but he is one of the few people that helped shape the slasher flicks. |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
That's for sure, if it wasn't for Jason and his series of movies would we ever have had Scream?
|
These threads have been done before, but probably my top two are George C Scott in The Hustler and John Huston in Chinatown. Both money grabbing, impersonal and ammoral capitalistic at it's most cannbalistic extreme. Take all the Darth Vadars and silly Hannibal Lectors you want, they simply just don't compare.

Some of my favorites:
Alec Baldwin from The Cooler and Miami Blues Ben Kingsley from Sexy Beast Kevin Spacey from The Usual Suspects and Se7en Rutger Hauer from The Hitcher Louise Fletcher from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest |
When it comes to villains, I always seem to think of Scorpio from the first Dirty Harry. He was truly ruthless and pathetic at the same time.

For me, hands down it's Javier Bardem as Anton, in No Country for Old Men.

I wouldn't count Gordon Gekko as a villain more as someone who is misunderstood.
And Joker needs to be at the top of your list! |

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Joel Schumacher, that guy ruined the 90s for me lol. Seriously, The Joker, Vader, Zod, Magneto, Fernand Mondego, Prince Humperdinck.

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Nice avatar, Kinosis, that thing should be in it's own list. I watched the movie when I was younger and it was really disturbing watching that thing move.

My favorite, of course:
