kill bill mission: impossible donnie darko ernest and the rockers (?)
|
im dont really buy movie soundtracks but i like Pulp Fiction, south park:bigger longer and uncut and Team America:world police. Matt stone and trey parker can make some really funny songs
|
Predator
Predator2 The Rock Shaolin Soccer General instrumental stuff that packs a bit of a punch. |
I'll divide mine into 2 catagories - 1. 'Proper' soundtracks, written for the film. 2. Collections of songs played in the film. ;)
1. Once Upon a Time in America 2. 24 Hour Party People |
Boogie Nights
|
The Big Chill
|
forest gump & trainspotting
|
Mine are:
1. Lord Of The Rings - all 3 are amazing 2. Donnie Darko 3. Save The Last Dance |
Donnie Darko
The Ring (oh that song at the end of the American version!) Spiderman 2 |
Mine are
1) Braveheart 2) Forest Gump 3) Gladiator 4) The Shawshank Redemption 5) The Shining 6) Kill Bill (both volumes) 7) Donnie Darko All these soundtracks really suited the particular film and helped achieve special moments in each of them respectively that would not have been possible without the magical scores or creative songs used. Try listening to movies like these without the soundtrack and you will see how much is lost and gained by great soundtracks. |
Mine:
1.Snatch(+the two tracks in the trailer that werent in the movie) 2.Pulp Fiction PS: Spooky.Forest Gump has two R-s Forrest Gump |
Damn right Dunhill, I love both of those soundtracks. Tacitus, I believe the first category you mentioned would define a score, not a soundtrack. I like anything involving Tarantino/Rodrigues, especially From dusk 'til dawn. I know I should burn for that though. Snatch is a favourite of mine as well.
|
mine?...
THE CROW ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK THE CROW ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE RESIDENT EVIL ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. |
I really liked the version of Crying in Mulholland dr.
|
Jurassic Park, Snatch, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moulin Rouge, The Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings.
Too many to mention. |
Kill Bill. Got me into a lot of music. Including Shivaree. :D
|
Rushmore was a little dissapointing, because its missing some good Stones stuff, etc., I guess Empire Records
|
Probably Team America: World Police would be my favorite.
I'm a sucker for songs that make me laugh, and I was in tears after I heard the song about how bad Pearl Harbor sucked. What was the title . . . |
Joe Dirt - This movie and soundtrack work best when listened to in an old car with crappy speakers.
The Lion King - You laugh and I start stabbing things. Wayne's World - Can be listened to following the Joe Dirt soundtrack. |
mine would be
Clueless Empire Records My Girl Reality Bites A Life Less Ordinary Romeo & Juliet Angus |
Human Traffic, Chicago. Apart from that i like the new compilatiosn which seem to be comming out lately which incorporate the best songs from different movies. the only problem with them is that they tend to only include the mainstream songs.
|
The big lebowski, Pulp fiction,LOTR, O brother where art thou

My favorite soundtrack is Pulp fiction but Natural Born Killers, Forrest Gump, Dazed & Confused and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly are all worth a mention
You gotta love Reservoir Dogs and the super sounds of the seventies. Rock N Roll High School has lots of good tracks by The Ramones. Did anyone mention Saturday Night Fever, it's not my kind of music but it's definitely a classic soundtrack. |
Wow... I don't think anyone has brought up my personal fav... High Fidelity... Filled with a wonderfully diverse world of music and features a very surprising Marvin Gaye cover.
|
I have a soft spot for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Others include Reservior Dogs, Empire Records and The Gate.
|
Office Space had some pretty slick tunes.
Damn it feels good to be a gangster. |

Desperado.
Hands down. |
Two that come to mind right now are: The Royal Tenenbaums and Reservoir Dogs
|
Mine are definitely Hedwig And The Angry Inch (collection of original songs) and Once Upon A Time In The West (mainly instrumental)
|
Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill Vol.1
|
1. Romeo and Juliet
2. Trainspotting 3. Pulp Fiction 4. Jackie Brown 5. Reservoir Dogs 6. Donnie Darko |
Donnie Darko, definitely. not what the director originally wanted in the regular version of the movie, but i've gotten used to it and when watching the director's cut now, i kinda miss the first version i had seen. one of the greatest songs ever in a movie at the end. tears. and then there's this religious music and singing when Donnie and Frank are in the movie theater... wow.
|
The Rules of Attraction
American Beauty Go Fear and Loathing Reservoir Dogs Requiem For a Dream ( the main theme is soooo addictive ) High Fidelity American Psycho Save the Last Dance Donnie Darko Kill Bill ( Vol1&2 but more 1) Moulin Rouge The new Dawn of the Dead soundtrack was alright |

My favorite movie soundtrack would probably have to be the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack.
|
Recently, Sin City and Kung Fu Hustle.
|
Non-original music: Easily Shaun of the Dead. It makes the best use of Queen ever.
Original score: Once Upon a Time in the West. Harmonica like none other. |
Little Shop of Horror
Fighting temptations Ray (just watched 5h ago today) Well, these movies are heavily music oriented, so I guess they must have good soundtracks. |
the Good the Bad and the Ugly
Reservoir Dogs O Brother Where Art Thou Lord of the Rings 1,2,3 Kill Bill 1,2 Anchorman I'll think of more later |
More and Obscured by Clouds also. Pink Floyd did them both so that means they are awesome. I own OBC and it's amazing, buy it or download it now!
|
Have a guess. ;)

I might be a geek, but I love Lord of The Rings, And think Howard Shore's Soundtrack for those films is brilliant.

Donnie Darko uses Echo and the Bunnymen's original version of "The Killing Moon".
|
Re: favorite movie soundtracks: whats yours?
I guess I'm a traditionalist. I love soundtracks and listen to them all the time, but they're mostly instrumental soundtracks.
My favs: Gladiator -- Zimmer (this is really an amazing soundtrack and rather different in parts, thanks to Lisa Gerrard's contributions) Braveheart Pirates 1, 2 Howard Shore's LOTR soundtracks. They're simply amazing. I just bought TDK soundtrack. Boy, that music they composed for the Joker is very disturbing. Yikes. |
