Scream VI

Re: Scream VI
Sorry, but, no Neve, no Scream.

Re: Scream VI
Fair, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna watch anyway, even though I'm bummed about her absence.
There's something about a few franchises (this, Mission: Impossible) that I can't resist. I think it's just because there's some kind of baseline entertainment level they always manage to hit, and it's nice to watch something you're essentially positive you'll enjoy in a certain way. I dunno. To be clear, the gulf between my enjoyment from this franchise and the M:I films (which are just so relentlessly entertaining) is pretty huge at this point, but they're both in that odd little category still. |
Re: Scream VI
I dunno, I mean, Scream: The Next Generation having the characters they've picked/written, are kinda bland... and the actors as well have almost 0 on-screen charisma.
Scream was bad enough for me to leave the franchise as a four-parter with that awful the CGI Loomis, uninspired twist, and boring new characters and actors... and I can't believe they also didn't style it as Screams with the s looking like a 5. It's a combination of things that seem to be making it completely forgettable, with little to actually invest in, before it's even got off the ground. |
Re: Scream VI
Can't wait, nice little teaser trailer. :D
|
as scream fan i definitely cant wait 😍😍

It's gotta be a meta-commentary on spin-offs. That's the only excuse for releasing a sequel one year after the last unless you're Wes Craven himself. |
Re: Scream VI
I'm more of the opinion that no Ghostface, no Scream. So I'm game.

Re: Scream VI
I don't want Neve in it. I want the character to finally have peace.

I think each Scream should be the focal point of one of the big three Scream V - Dewey Scream VI - Gail Scream VII - Neve |

Re: Scream VI
They made a TV series called Scream: The TV Series.
And it was binned after 3 seasons after it got completely trashed by the fans and critics and topped out at only around half a million worldwide viewers. |

Scream Queens was Ryan Murphy's Scream ripoff with Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts. It wasn't bad but it was to campy and not enough horror but it was watchable. It's getting a Netflix revival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfESM1llKOA MTV did a three season version of Scream which ran for two seasons with a two hour special months later. It wasn't half bad I would say it was between Scream III and IV in quality. We then got Scream Resurrection which was the "black" version of Scream which ran for 6 episodes and it was terrible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBD2FLpYB2U |

Scream Queens was fab. :D

I never heard of the Resurrections one.

Re: Scream VI
AHA!
Neve Campbell not being in this one was hinted at in Scream 5. Just sat to watch Scream 5 for the 2nd time to see if there was anything I might have missed after I basically slandered it in my previous posts. 3 minutes in, the killer asks questions to the girl about the in-universe "Stab" movies... get the answers right, or her friend dies. He asks about who the lead character was in Stab... she says "Sydney Prescott"... and his response is "Anyone could get that one right, Sydney was in all the Stab movies except the last one" More meta? Or just coincidence that Neve Campbell decided to turn her back in the franchise. |
Re: Scream VI
Ok, 2nd viewing of Scream 5.
Review: I stick to my original posts: Bland, predictable, uninspired and boring. Barrera as well as the new lead in Scream 5 and in this new movie as well is huge mistake. She's sooooooooooooooooooooo wooden. I'll wait for Scream 6 to appear on cut price DVD. |
Re: Scream VI
The worst moment in Scream 5 was Sidney (by Neve) telling a killer on her phone she was bored and hanging up on him during movie climax with people dying and being injured all around her. Such clumsy writing takes me out of the movie for an instant.
Sidney was the worst character in Scream 5, didn't fit in it organically at all. It's good she's not appearing in Scream 6. I actually liked Sam (by Melissa Barrera) the best. Of course Scream 1 is still the best of the franchise. |
heres the new trailer 2 of scream 6

Re: Scream VI
So instead of meta-commentary on the spinoff, it looks like we'll get commentary on cult behavior and wider-ranged media influence.

Cult seems like a misdirect I think this is about ego and the thrill of the hunt |

WARNING: "Scream 6" spoilers below
From the looks of it the final act takes place in a theater so parallels to Scream 2.... father of a victim tracks down the people that profited and took part in the loss of a child. Maybe a family of killers who were tied to an earlier victim.
EDIT: spoiler tags added because of a later post that seemingly confirms the guess. |
Family of victim tries to kill other victims ??
I hope not. |

Re: Scream VI
I'm probably looking too deep into it but the ghostface in the shop at the start could be female because of their reaction/head tilt to the man saying 'You got a problem here guy'. As in why do you assume I'm a man...

Trailer looks awesome. I’m pumped.

In other words, if you were writing the screenplay and you wanted to surprise people because your killer was a woman, you'd probably go out of your way to have the characters talk about "finding that man" (or vice versa) more often. Every time they explicitly mention the assumed gender it makes it slightly more likely it's the other one. |
Re: Scream VI
I'm guessing the plot twist is a full on meta "Scream 6" means there's 6 killers.
Will wait for the DVD. |

Also could be a fun thing where they're unaffiliated and you get to see several Ghostfaces going after each other. GHOSTFACE BATTLE ROYALE AUTOMATIC |
Re: Scream VI
Oh you know I'll be quoting myself forever if that turns out to be right

Re: Scream VI
Regardless of how the film turns out, the fact that they're not calling it 6cream is just a huge victory already.
|
i wonder whos gonna be a killer this time *

Re: Scream VI
Probably that one dude. The one in the mask.
Just guessing though, I haven't seen Six Cream yet. |

The best F13 movies are later than 3. Scream 4/5 were good in my opinion. Mission Impossible movies are better at 4. |
Re: Scream VI
I really hope it's not a group of killers. Just, I know it's only a film, unrealistic. One serial killer yes, two working together where one is nearly always a weaker easily influenced person, three just might work but more than that seems too much for me when it comes to this series of films.
There are at least two killers so far going by the trailer. I mean I can't see it being one of the main characters from Scream 5, so that's five out of the cast. Then there are least three kills(unless one is killer faking death) shown in the trailer, outside of the shop kills, so that's three more of the cast not a killer. If Kirby hasn't gone mad and she's not gone all stabby stabby that's another from the cast not a killer. So doesn't leave many off the new poster and main cast list for a group of killers. Two others in the trailer people think are quick cameo kills, so that's another two gone if true. Who knows. :D |
I actually think this looks like the best scream movie in time and I'm shocked..
And if they really are getting rid of the same tired old characters that's a big plus in my book |
Re: Scream VI
so they're still screaming eh?
EDIT: I just know I'm still traumatized AF from watching Scream by myself, at night, the first time I was left at home alone. I was like 7 or 8. First thing my parents asked when they got home is "why are all the lights on?" |

I have trouble recalling which M:I movie is which from parts 4 onward. 1, 2 & 3 are at least different in tone from each other. Best FF movie was the first, because it was basically a remake of Point Break. Basically borrowed from a decent movie that had genuine talent behind it. F13 I'm guessing is Friday The 13th? Don't really rate any of them. Scream is like M:I with 1, 2, 3 are the best of the bunch. Scream 4 was pretty generic, and Scream 5 is just bland. Like, not even vanilla bland. Like, processed mashed potato powder bland. |

Re: Scream VI
Sigh... if true, I saw a leak of the reveal of the killer or killers.
Beware of a video going round especially on twitter, it came up on my twitter and automatically played. Really really annoyed. Really hope it's a scene filmed by the studio just in case of leaks because I really didn't like the reveal. :( And there is some **** out there who leaked it. |
Re: Scream VI
Is that a spoiler?
EDIT: I'm told it is, so unfortunately this movie might be ruined for me. Use spoiler tags. We've had issues with this in the past, and I made it clear what was expected. And even if it's hard to know exactly when to use them, it seems obvious in this case. I'm not going to say this again. |
