Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
I wasn't big on the 2018 reboot and Halloween Kills is a contender for the worst in the whole franchise so I can't say I'm overly hyped for this one. The idea that this is going to actively address COVID is...intriguing, I suppose.

Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Yeah, at least what's this interview with David Gordon Green indicates. Apparently, the idea is that it's going to jump ahead to the present after the last two films took place in 2018 and that'll involve having to acknowledge the pandemic.

Yes, which is why I included a link to the interview where I first learned about it.

Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
No, it looks like the current plan is to wrap up this latest iteration of the series here - I doubt the Halloween franchise will totally stay dead after that, but this should be the last one for a while at least.

Wait. Say what, again? |

It’s just never-ending with these films, man…. |

Pretty much as silly as Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter being the fourth film in a franchise of plus-ten movies, which by the way continued already the year after that film and also had another film with The Final Friday in the title, which then also continued with Jason X after that. And then Freddy vs Jason. And then a remake.

After Halloween Ends will come the sequel, The Ghost of Michael Myers.

Just joking. 😀 |
Regardless of whether it ends or not, I’ve always found the Halloween franchise rather anticlimactic, and boring, in a way. I’m a huge fan of Jamie Lee Curtis, but a star vehicle this ain’t, imo (not even the original). As for adding more and more self-contradictory retrospective mythology like building blocks, that’s just annoying.
Edit: speaking of real-time market research, I watched Smile on the big screen today. There was a Halloween sequel trailer, of course (I don’t even know which at this point). Audience reactions: “This is Halloween again.” “Another ****ing Halloween movie.” I bet if whoever makes them heard that, they’d think twice. |
Absolute trash movies. My contempt for the second one is limitless
I got more respect Halloween H20 and even Halloween: Resurrection than these steaming pile of dog shit movies Laurie Stride died in Resurrection as far as I’m concerned and these movies don’t exist. How the hell is Dumb David going to further shit all over it. What a ****ing tosser |

After viewing Halloween 2018 only yesterday I came to the conclusion that the new versions are bad. Hate the Rob Zombie efforts also. For me 1 to 8 are where it all starts and ends but even a few of those are on a slippery road to TV movie hell.

boo-bee boo-bee boo-bee boo-bee
25 more days till Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! 25 more days till Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! siiiiilVER SHAM-ROCK!! boo-bee boo-bee boo-bee boo-bee and they glow in the dark!!! |
I love all the Halloween movies, except for Halloween 3. I just can't get enough of Michael Myers, and when Halloween Ends comes out on Bluray I'm buying it.
|
I did not like the 2018 movie and the sequel was even worse.
I have no real interest in Ends although I’ll probably end up watching it. But it’ll be for free on digital or something. By the trailer it looks to be even worse than the second movie. It in no way made me any kind of hype at all… |
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
I really hope I don't end up watching this.
|
The last Halloween movie was kind of dumb, so I'm in no hurry to watch this one.

I have soooo much time for Halloween 3. |
I found this review on Letterboxd pretty darn funny.
Evil died tonight. Along with anything resembling a good story.
Effectively the rise of Skywalker of the Halloween-movies as it’s a completely underwhelming end to a decades old saga. Michael has gone from lean, mean, killing machine to old friendzoned sewer-boomer. And why is he hanging out in that sewer? Who does he think he is? Pennywise? |
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
It stinks.....maybe.
|
i havent seen it please no spoilers 😢
|
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Halloween (2018) is so crappy it's difficult to watch. Halloween Kills (2021) was really good I enjoyed it. Rotten Tomatoes is a scam they said the first one was good and the sequel wasn't. The opposite of the truth
Halloween Ends (2022) will probably be trash like (2018) because the star is Jamie Lee Curtis |
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
I Just saw it on peacock, it wasn't that bad, a different movie for sure and decent. The ending is very satisfying.
|
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Well, I sense this will obviously divide people to the extremes but I kind of dug it even with it trying to derail a few times on the back end.

Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Halloween III is one of those movies that sounds amazing on paper, but as it plays out, it's way too slack to reach the paranoid heights it aims for, and aside from some nice cinematography that one scene where Tom Atkins yells into the phone, is kind of boring.

In a lot of ways Halloween III is flat as ****. It doesn't pop like a lot of the cinema I really appreciate does. Not even the really garbage crap that I like. So I should be on your side. At times it feels like it could have been made for television. But its all about how this particular narrative unfolds. How it tells us a story that makes so little sense with a completely straight face. It becomes simultaneously enterataining, regardless of its flaws, but also unsettling because how perverse the whole thing is with its weirdness. |
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Yeah, the way that you have Dan O'Herlihy delivering villainous monologues with glee and/or menace is worth the price of admission alone, but you also have one of Carpenter's more underrated scores as well.
|
Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
I found this better than the last entry and more interesting than the 2018 reboot. I don't know if I would say I overly liked it but I didn't hate it.
|
This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Holy damn.
|
i saw it today and i really enjoyed it, i loved it i gave it a 5\5

Re: Halloween Ends (2022)
Saw this last night. The director tries to inject some style and flair, while simultaneously destroying anything menacing about Michael Myers. Sort of a mess, but not completely terrible. At least I have seen the end, but would never watch it again.
On another note: Halloween III rocks! |
This movie is crap. Worse Halloween movie I've ever seen.
