Recommend me disgusting, repulsive, wrong movies
Recommend me sickening, revolting films.
Morally wrong, unethical, misanthropic, misogynist, misandric, homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, hateful, inhumane, malicious, toxic, negative, harmful, unlawful. Films that present bad values and may make you a worse human being. |

Fat Girl (2001) could be considered disgusting and wrong to some people. It was banned in some places. It's a really well made film that I would recommend.

Did she say it wasn't raped and didn't seem to mind the sex because she wanted to get laid so bad, and that was the point of the ending?

I'm not sure about Fat Girl's ending either.
My guess is

It is open to interpretation, but I think that is implied. Earlier in the film, she commented about wanting her first time to be with a stranger, so it is possible that she was glad to get her first time out of the way and wanted to experience sex. Or maybe she was in shock and didn't really understand what she was saying or perhaps was ashamed.
|
Re: Recommend me disgusting, repulsive, wrong movies
This is why I often dislike open to interpretation endings. Why can't the writers and filmmaker just say what they were trying to say and own it...

I guess I just find it sometimes comes off as gimmicky, like they are trying to be hip with it, but maybe I am looking at it wrong.

The hardcore's would be Salò, Cannibal Holocaust, the first I actually liked. Galo's Brown Bunny is somewhat controversial, he said it was artistic and people are just stupid for not getting it, I don't know. Anything by Todd Solondz I enjoy, my favorite would be Life During Wartime. I think people in general before making strong aggressive statements about pedophilia should study pedophilia, the history, the psychology, but that's just me, when I see many people swimming one way I see what's on the other side. I think Todd did something brave trying to give a new angle to the subject. Korine's Gummo is very good and Kids which he wrote is also good. It all depends on what you mean and what you pretend, I'd not mention A Serbian Film or The Human Centipede because they are just made to create impact, nothing to see there, unless you want to play hard ass.

Cuties (2020) is considered disgusting to some people, but it is a great film.

Re: Recommend me disgusting, repulsive, wrong movies
"Fat Girl" was just on TCM, and I recorded it because they usually don't post newer movies, but I turned it off about 20 minutes into it.

Just to clarify, I am not recommending any of the Rampage films. Just noting that they are disgusting, repulsive and wrong.
|
Ok. I'd mention :
1) The Taxi movies. Luc Besson bull**** at its worst (sexist, racist, trying oh so hard to look and sound cool, just embarrassing). 2) Salo, of course. No ill intent, but deliberately disturbing representations of dehumanizing sadism in context of fascism. It denounces what it presents though. 3) The whole torture porn genre (Cannibal Holocaust, Saw, Human Centipede, etc) which is a mere exploration of pain, both as an on-screen exorcism of latent fears ("yes ! this is exactly what is not happening to me !") and some juvenile sadistic glee ("hey what if, what if we did something even worse to someone, I have an idea for a film"). The viewer's position in those fantasies is ambiguous. 4) Nazi propaganda. Jud Süss, for instance, or the Leni Riefenstahl odes to fascist values (still fully embraced in various mainstream forms nowadays). By extension, you can decide to set by yourself the threshold of abjection on the vast continuum of propaganda movies debasing whichever minority or otherness to whichever extent, an axis starting from these historical extremes and going to the most accepted ones at the other extreme (the war or vigilante movies which racialist, xenophobic, homophobic or culturalist implications we now tend to forgive or consider hilariously cheesy). Where's the limit ? Somewhere in-between, I guess. 5) The killer inside me is an unsettling movie about an extreme case of manipulative violence and gender dominance. Features a few instances of "Yeah okay got it. The point, though ?". 6) Birth of a Nation, of course. 7) Various modern propaganda films presented as "journalistic" and "neutral", yet transparent platforms for extremist political groups, campaigns, conspiracy groups, religious fundamentalists or white supremacy authors (from D'Souza to Southern). Of course, beyond mere misinformation, evaluating the abjection of it may depend on your own worldview and ideology. 8) Snuff movies, were they a thing for real, or were they like iron maidens ? And if fake, but believed true by the public who enjoyed them, that's still something. |
Re: Recommend me disgusting, repulsive, wrong movies
Not wrong, but definitely gets up close and personal with the lead actor in a way that most people would at least be extremely uncomfortable. Regardless of its graphic nature though, a fairly beautiful and sad movie beneath the grime.

Any new recs? Also, I’ll throw in a rec for Through the Looking Glass. Not as rough as the two Phil Prince movies I suggested earlier, and quite a bit more stylish, but still pretty queasy stuff. And I later learned it was funded by a church group! |

Not saying any of these are great entertainment, some are fun, but they fit the criteria:
Gutterballs - Nasty ****ing slasher and very ****ing dumb. You'll get ****ing sick of ****ing hearing the ****ing eff word. Half the ****ing script is ****ing eff words. Hanger - Same director as Gutterballs. This is ****ing bad, looks ****ing terrible and is really ****ing awful. Writer/Director probably wore out the F-U-C and K's on his keyboard writing these two movies. Dear God No! - Grindhouse wanna be biker/Nazi-sploitation. Frankenstein Created Bikers (sequel to Dear God No!) - More epic than Dear God No. Looks a lot better. A little long but is more awful than Dear God No The Night of Something Strange - horror-comedy. First scene is necrophilia. Second is incest/rape. Yeah, real funny stuff. Run Bitch Run - Rape revenge grindhouse wanna be. The Manson Family - Title says it all The Girl Next Door - Probably the most well known of all these movies. Young girl is tortured by her aunt, cousins and neighborhood kids. Moebius - I only watched it once a while back but it was pretty good. The best movie here but it's kind of hard to explain. |

Re: Recommend me disgusting, repulsive, wrong movies
I Spit On Your Grave
The original (1979) is so bad that parts of it are almost comedy, but the remake - ah the remake (2010). Finally a remake that exceeds the original in far more satisfying ways. The original is just a violent rape & revenge flick, but the remake is "sweet revenge" as each act of vengeance is an ironic take on the crimes committed against the victim which provides a sense of creativity and poetic justice that was not present in the original. |

I mean, La La Land and Moulin Rouge may be repulsive, as in bad. But they don't have any rapes, tortures, murders, hate, and so on, so they don't fit this thread.

Torture porn? I'm not MovieGal. I was thinking of a more sophisticated torture.
Anyway, I watched Olaf Ittenbach's masterful splatterfest The Burning Moon, the trashy mondo trilogy Shocking Asia, and an obscure CAT III film The Unpublicizable File with lots of women getting beat up and a child getting hanged (and some human sausages, too, for a good measure). I think my appetite for degeneracy was satiated. Now I can start murder... I mean, I can return to watching normal movies. |

I've dipped my toes in but, no, not really my bag. They can have their moments though, like what I mentioned in Burning Moon, which caught me off guard how incredible it was, for clearly zero budget. The Golden Globe is probably a bit of a mainstream scuzz****er, and that was very much up my alley. There is value is movies that don't wash off, |

There's a mention of John Waters, but, specifically, early Waters, not the later, more gentile Waters. Go to Desperate Living or Mondo Trasho or the crowning achievement, Pink Flamingos. See Divine do stuff never done on screen before, notably his/her choice of food, including cannibalism and dog-poop-eating.

A Serbian Film.

The House that Jack Built (dir. Von Trier)
Within the same lines, Von Trier has done several disturbing films, I heard Antichrist is pretty disturbing, and Nymphomaniac definitely had its moments. The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo The Ballad of Jack and Rose (father and daughter incesty relationship) That is all I can think of right now. Have fun on your journey! |
