I agree with Revenant. All the extra stuff jammed in there is just too cool. I don't think you can do much better than the LotR special edition DVD, really. Although, when the Indiana Jones DVD's come out... it could have a run for it's money.

The interviews are nice but i would have like a featureette or Commentary (Althoght its pretty much impossable) Apocalypse Now Redux: http://media.hotshed.com/images/626/626933_1_211.jpg The Destruction of the Kurtz Compound (with audio commentary by Francis Coppola) PBR Streetgang Apocalypse Then and Now Theatrical Trailer Again not the heavy'st DVD on Extra's, and agin it's the quaility of the picture and sound that do it for me. Watch it on my newly aquierd 5.1 nerly sent me insane. |
Me also on Chinatown, Apocalypse Now Redux and LOTR:FOTR but my fave has to be........

Hey Jrs, in regards to "The Family Guy", does anyone involved with production address whether the family members, other than Brian, can actually hear Stuey talk (I'm never sure)? Love "Family Guy" BTW.

The Monty Python Flying Circus, 14 dvds of pure brit humor, woohoo.
And since I am a newbie here and don't know how to do quotes yet, this is in regards to r3port3r66's question. There is one episode in particular where a group of students watch the episode and at the end one asks if the family can hear the baby, but his question is unanswered. That is just a snippet of Tod McFarlane's genius. |
That's my favorite currently.
|
Mine would have to be my two disc edition of One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest or maybe two disc Reservoir Dogs.
|
Back to The Future Trilogy

What Ezikiel said except I would swap BTTF with Fight Club. I must have watched my T2 DVD over 50 times now...
|
My favorite is most likely either my Casablanca 2 disc set or Futurama Season 1. I can watch either one of those whenever i get bored, and they never get old. Futurama's pilot epsiode has to be the greatest series openers in the history of TV.

I have another favourite and that's my Evil Dead trilogy pack. Four discs, one for each film and an xtra bonus one featuring lots of additional stuff that took me a couple of hours to go through on its own.

I have a question....where can I find the trilogy pack? I am in the states so is it only available overseas??? |
My Tarantino Collection Box Set is my fav. If I had to save one thing from a fire this would be it. I do like my Evil Dead Trilogy too...
|
The Terminator, and Terminator 2 [Ultimate Edition] are cool dvd's to own. They have a lot of extras and it's worth watching.

Reservoir Dogs DVD is another great one, the memorials to enddie bunker are quite funny
|
My favs....
LotR: The Two Towers Extended Edition is just a great package all around. One of the best (if not THE best) fantasy films ever made, a top notch transfer, redone score, TONS of extras, a leatherette case, and did I mention the movie is INSANE.
Unbreakable: Another favorite film of mine and a VERY cool looking case design-wise. The Double sided Alex Ross sketches of Mr. Glass/The Hero are a hidden treasure by one of the most realistic and amazing comic artists ever! When I cracked this disc open I remember thinking the whole package was very slick. sayo |
Most likely the Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction DVD's, without them I'd flip out.
Most of the reasons are simple, both movies are fantastic and the extras I'd rate right up there as well. They include nice interviews with Quentin Tarantino and the cast members. They also have deleted scenes, extra music and behind-the-scenes footage. |

AVATAR's Extended Collector's Edition.
Why??? Because of everything. Coolest DVD packaging I've seen. The book of DVDs is RAD!!! And the loads of version of the film and bonuses is amazing. |
Re: Your Favorite DVD
^ That's a nice package. I bought the blu-ray version of it for someone. I didn't get it myself though, got a gorgeous blu-ray steelbook that I prefer with the original cut, not keen on the other cuts of the film so don't need the Extended edition:

Re: Your Favorite DVD
My Friends and Seinfeld box sets.
|
Lifeguard (1976), a rarity whose blow-dried 70's CA beach vibe is just too groovy.

Re: Your Favorite DVD
I have two copies of it cuz I wore out the first one. My favorite movie Soul Surfer.
|
My Kiki's Delivery Service DVD. The special feature about how the town in that movie came to be was incredibly interesting and I love watching it.
