The Best Of The Martial Arts. Jean Claude Van-Damme
I loved "BloodSport" and "KickBoxer" so much, my opinion is you have to see these great movies, I mean look at my user name and signature for god sake!
These movies are great, you dont have some skinny chinese kung-fu guy, you have Jean Claude Van-Damme displaying great skill and muscular shape. HIGHLY recommended. |
Maybe, But can he act? :nope:

No worries
I wont go crazy, its funny what you said about the 10 yr olds! LOL! but no, I am almost 17 I just love the movies but I am being way too enthusiastic you understand. I love other movies like The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded, but you know, Bloodsport and Kickboxer were so cool to me because I have the same dream as Van-Damme.

I thought Bloodsport was a great movie. My favorite Van Damme movie has to be Timecop.
|
watched timecop last night, some really funny one liners.

My post on your other thread got deleted!
Oh well. I will try to redo it here: For a druggie and a wife beater, Jean isn't all that bad. (Has he sought out help yet? If so, good for him) On the whole I'd say his movies are pretty bad, Kickboxer and Bloodsport included. (Although they are head and shoulders above some of his others!) I do however like a good action movie as much as anyone, so some of his movies are good. I'd say his best is probably Hard Target, but mainly because it has two wonderful villians, and the action is very good (C'mon, its John Woo!!!!) I've always thought of Jean as a poor man's Arnold. |
couldnt have put it better beale.
oh and arnie would destroy him! |
Darn right he would!
|
i think bloodsport has been destroyed, thank god, thieving git.

Agreed and Agreed Beale, Hard Target was his best, and that was mediocre at best. Now he isn't a bad fighter (no way as good as Jet Li...not even close) but hey I went through that phase to... and while i dont hate the movies, I think that acting in the movies sucked about as much as a porno (that has dual meaning for the slow among us...I'm sure there are some)
|
I can't stand any movie with Jean Claude Van-Damme. They are all lame. I hate his acting and he thinks he's such a bad a$$. He thinks he's the greatest fighter in the world. Ummm:nope:you suck!
|
he's awful...
Van Damme is a TERRIBLE martial artist. His skills are barely good enough for the black belt. I remember a few years back, when he was somewhat popular, he entered an actual tounament and got DESTROYED by people with real skills. He is way, way slow and always plays for the camera. He has been arrested for beating his wife. Any true Martial artist would never do something weak like this. There are dozens of martial artists who aren't in film that would absolutely devastate JVD. Since this is MoFo, I will give examples of film stars that would crush him as well....
Jackie Chan: He has many high level black belts in many styles and can move 10 times faster than JVD and Jackie is in his 50's. Chuck Norris, although now retired from the circuit, has many titles from actual World Martial arts tournaments. This man can get hit over and over and keep coming. Ol' glass jaw Jean folds like a lawn chair after one shot to the chin. Jason Scott Lee: His form is almost perfect and he knows many soft styles (Kung Fu etc...) after a lifetime of study under many masters. Do yourself a favor and watch some of the old Jackie chan flicks (Shaolin Wooden Men comes to mind) and see some of the absolute Mastery of style and flow this man has achieved. He is a funny bastard as well (well hey so is Jean, but he is trying to be serious) Sedai |
