I haven't seen any of the Bond films either. Other big franchise films I never bothered to watch are Harry Potter, Fast and Furious, Lord of the Rings/Hobbits (with the exception of the first Rings film that put me to sleep)...

Oh yeah, I have a lot to make. First of all, my posts are all fake and awkwardly contrived, just so I can get internet points. I'm actually completely PC, while being racist and sexist. Huge contradiction I know, but that's who I really am. I hate Bernie the socialist and love Trump the victor. I don't like any films made before 1985 and don't have Emma Watson in it.

Sotheby's appraised Dr. Strangelove for a starting bid of $1.2-million and it is expected to go somewhere in the low fours, nearly six-times Lolita's purse at Christie's last year.

I also have never saw a Bond movie, Superhero stuff, don't plan on it... I also don't care for sci-fi, mysteries, capers, shooting scenes, car chases, long love scenes, sensationalism.

Although most stand up comedians cite Richard Pryor as their biggest influence, I believe Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Eddie Murphy are far more superior stand up comedians than Pryor.

Richard Pryor is very like-able, but out of that group, I like Chappelle the most. Saw him twice, met him after the show once.

My favorite "comedians" are Mort Sahl, Bill Hicks, George Carlin.

I love Richard Pryor! But unlike most of his fans, I like him more in movies than in stand-up. I just find those other guys funnier at the mic than him.

hmm...just have to say that you're looking at Richard Pryor's comedy decades after it was made. When I first saw him (actually correction I first heard him on vinyl, I didn't see him till years after) back in the mid 70s he was revolutionary. I'd never heard anything in the UK like him. We used to play that LP to everyone who came round our house, he was so damn funny. Irreplaceable guy.

Ok, and to an extent I can agree, but who's to say that because of your fond memories you're not just being nostalgic about him, and that's going to put you on bias, as is my for my preference of comedians I grew up with. And sure he was revolutionary and helped create a groundwork for stand-up but I personally think a guy like Lenny Bruce did more for Stand-up, and was a big influence on Pryor. Lenny Bruce even had multiple arrests for obscenity during his shows, and was just a class act in general;).

However I believe George Carlin to have made the greatest overall contribution to stand-up though, his body of work is immaculate. One of my favourite comedians of all time though is this gentleman.

I will double down.

Michael Bay movies I genuinely like (Bad Boys I & II don't count, they are guilty pleasures)

The Rock
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Emmerich

Independence Day
Universal Soldier

QT (and I don't mean my favorite gas station chain)

4 Rooms was kinda good. But the last segment was dull

I have a Bay related confession. I genuinely enjoyed the first Transformers flick. My seven year old still throws it on and I like the humor in it. The other two I have seen are the absolute worst but I like that first one.

I'm tired of big summer blockbuster movies. Especially the superhero action films. Iron Man made me lose interest after "Iron Man 2" and there are a bunch of "Avengers" type movies that I have not seen and more and more just keep coming out.

I wish movies were good again. And I wish people didn't treat TV shows, especially the hour long drama things, as the "new" and better thing to pay attention to.

There are plenty of great movies to alleviate blockbuster fatigue. You might have to watch some movies to find them though.

Ok talking with Sean about Bay and I guess I must confess my Michael Bay SHAME!

I liked Transformers 1. Genuinely, I think it was Bays best film.

I thought Pain n Gain was watchable. The Rock was funny, and the story was jawdropping. How STUPID those criminals were....really jawdropping.

Im gonna IMDb and make sure theres not another Bay film I somewhat liked.....Whew! Nope thats it. :)

Camo 04-08-16 03:10 PM

I like Batman Forever more than any Batman films except 1989, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I really like the first two Scary Movies.

Rear Window is one of my least favourite Hitchcocks.

I haven't found anything i've seen from DePalma above average yet. And Scarface is one of my least favourite 80's films.

Probably add a lot more later those were just a few that came to mind.

Okay, switching serious-mode back on, I can confess the following...

I don't like The Third Man, but I don't hate it either. First watch left me thinking mediocre or a little bit above.

Same goes for The Citizen Kane... and many other Orson Welles features. He has yet to surprise me.

Also, Ford films... Don't really like The Searches nor Liberty Valance. They are okay I guess.

The first Star Wars is not that great and neither is the newest one. Both are fairly good I guess.

Bad Boys II, Crank and White Chicks are all better films than ALL those above.

Now, go ahead. Shoot me. :)

I agree. I like his imagination and inventiveness, but he can use 10 pages discussing a leaf on a branch. That's a little overkill... He's like the author-version of Terrence Malick...

I hate It's a Wonderful Life

I hate westerns (loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid though, which I just saw for the first time a couple of days ago

I hate foreign films (hate subtitles, don't like reading at the movies)

I think The Band Wagon is better than Singin in the Rain

I hated Annie Hall and can't believe it won the Oscar for Best Picture of 1977

I was bored to death by 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dances with Wolves

I have never seen Citizen Kane, On the Waterfront, Lawrence of Arabia, or A Man for all Seasons

Some of you are coming forth with some gooduns'. I must dig deeper.......

I think Johnny Depps overrated. Hes good, but hes no Leonardo Dicaprio.

I think Tombstone ROCKED! Val Kilmers Holiday was his best performance along with Jim Morrison.

I like pro-wrestling, when its good! I dont like sports entertainment. Dont try to make athletes act. Only a handful can, thats what managers were for!!! gah!

I like Jennifer Lawrence, great energy. Best actress? My balls. Way overrated.

Never liked Julianne Moore. I dont know why. Shes a strong actress, but meh.

I have passes to go see Civil War next week, before it comes out in theaters. That's my confession. I really wanted to gloat about it.

I need to see that again, I think. It's been about eleven or twelve years.

I'm sure a lot of you know this, but I put Ed Wood's most infamous film, Plan 9 From Outer Space, on my Top 50 list last year. I still love it. Also, I think Sharkando is a better film than The Departed and Back to the Future 2.

Disliking Ed Wood or The Room is an unpopular opinion now.

On Youtube's film community, maybe, but other places I don't think so- yet.

Let's see...I hated: The Big Lebowski, Inglorious Bastards.

I don't like modern Hollywood CG block buster crap. I don't like superhero films.

I haven't seen any of the last Star War films. Didn't like The Grand Budapest Hotel.....

And I hated the zither music in The Third Man (but liked the film)

Oh and I'm also a fan of Ed Wood, the director.

You know maybe Ed Wood would have been a successful film maker in the 21st century. I mean, he was better than Gregg Araki.

I have never seen an actual Ed Wood movie.

That's a confession I can live with.

Ed had a vision for his films, but he also had low production values.

I've seen just about all the mainstream films he made. The first ones had ground breaking ideas. Latter on he just started churning out no brainers.

I'm struggling to come up with anything I haven't already confessed, so here are some I've already said elsewhere on the forum.

I hate every Stanley Kubrick film I've seen.
I hate every Paul Thomas Anderson film I've seen, except Inherent Vice.
I hate every Wes Anderson film I've seen.
I hated The Godfather, Taxi Driver, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
I hate The Lion King.
I'm a Pixar fangirl, but am not a Toy Story fan.
I hate Black Swan, The Wrestler, and No Country for Old Men.
I think Citizen Kane is boring, but I don't hate it.

I may list more later.

Yeah I think Wes Andersons the drizzlin' sh!ts

Lynch, Cronenburg, and Terrence Malick are overrated as it gets.
