I used to love wrestling back in the WWF era. I still have a nose now and then at whats going on but i can't get into it anymore.

Yeah its to child friendly these days. Bring back the days of Raw is War.

NedStark09 04-05-16 04:56 PM

I think there is allot of new talent for NXT which is HHH creation more the Vince's who can bring better new Blood in. But for me The Top 10 Best Current Talent that will be good are these.

10 Big E Langston
http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...psv6bfz5jb.jpg

He Is not the tallest big man but he has a like ability. His New Day Gimmick Is Ok But He makes a great heel and i can see him with a few belt runs.

9 Kevin Owens
http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...pscpolej88.jpg
He will be a 3 time wwe champ at least because in his first match on big roster he dominated Cena. He is a heel that gets Austin pops.

8 Cesaro
http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4qombtwm.jpg

Once Vince Makes up his mind about pushing him. I think he will be a long reigning champ of multipal belts. SO what he is not Randy orton in looks. But he has power and can do a match better then Roman.

Will do rest of my list later.

Quebec French-Canadian guy Kevin Owens! My favorite wrestler in WWE right now. Best heel in the business and awesome wrestler.

Thought that was probably nostalgia on my part until i started watching stuff again from all the era's last year. The Attitude Era has its fair share of dated and horrible moments but it was usually entertaining and didn't make you feel like you are 12 years old max.

teeter_g 04-05-16 06:51 PM

I am surprised that there wasn't a thread like this before. LOL! I love wrestling but have recently had to stop watching it as much because I simply do not have the time. I watch Raw weekly and I watch NXT weekly and that is it. I don't even watch SmackDown!. It was all taking up too much time on my DVR and I didn't have the time when I was off work to catch up with everything. My favorite wrestler right now is Dean Ambrose. I think he is the most talented that they have on Raw and I don't get why they don't want to push him more. As far as women go Becky Lynch is my favorite, Sasha Banks is a close second.
NXT has to go to Austin Aries, hands down. Favorite female there is Bayley.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I was hoping it would take at least a week before this became like every other internet thing about WWE.
Ok let's get this over and done with:

Roman Reigns sucks because he is being forced down our throats, never mind that he has improved greatly on the mic and in-ring, it has become a thing where you have to boo him because the internet says so. One year they are begging for him the win the Royal rumble and the next booing him out of the building because he does.

Cena sucks because he buries everyone because he wins a match or because he won't turn heel, never mind the fact that kids love him, he works nonstop, grants make-a-wishes like a champ, makes a ******** of money for the company and has easily had his best in ring performance year in his career. Losing to Cena has become expected so therefore no one is ever really buried by losing to Cena it all depends on how good you look doing it and winning against Cena (like Owens and Bryan) makes you look pretty special.

Um, what else? oh yeah Brock is awesome! for some reason. He has three moves and kicks out of every finisher but hey he was UFC Champion so wicked.

I agree it's criminal how Bray has been handled and Kevin Owens should be WWE Champion by the end of the year, but when all the focus is on about nitpicking and finding new things to whinge about every single week how can you sit back and just enjoy the entertainment?

People want WWE to create "new stars" yet the crowds will only support those that aren't seen to be being pushed as a new Cena or Rock or Stone Cold or Hogan or Undertaker. All that being said:

CESARO SECTION

Yup, pretty much exactly my point
It's just the thing to do now. It wouldn't matter if he came out and speared someone through glass while on fire. Just gotta boo
I'm not even saying he is good. The level of hate is just pathetic.

I was into wrestling when I was younger, but I didn't really watch full shows that often. I was more into individual matches. Short matches were what I usually were into, often by underrated guys on tv.

Most True Wrestling Fans wont care cause Cena is kinda hated by allot of people. But strangely Austin and The Big Show say he was good for the buisness and did not hold people down.

I wonder if a gimmick will ever come around in my lifetime as great as The Undertakers? Man that guy is a workers worker. Its too bad hes old school, born in kayfabe, and wont tell all the stories he has. My gosh itd be enthralling to hear.

If theyre on steroids isnt the question anymore. Nobody cares like they used to. If head office wants to suspend someone, or if theres gonna be a media tidalwave on the business due to a tragedy (Benoit) then theyll dole out suspensions. Otherwise they just suspend for heavy narcotics regardless what the official corporate line is.

Steve Austins weekly podcast is a treat to listen to. Any Stone Cold fans that havent should give it a go ;)

I was going to watch Wrestlemania 32 and do a review in my new thread. I havent kept up with the current product as much, but do know Bray Wyatt is Barry Windhams nephew, so thats cool :)

I listen too the Unleashed Podcast where its not WWE controled but I like the WWE Network Podcasts too but some stories have heard before on a previous podcast with some of these simular guests. Stone Cold is on very good Terms with DDP, Paul Heyman and has had HBK, and many others on his show. He has not done a Undertaker or Sting Podcast yet.

Reminds me a bit of Sting mixed with the crazy of a Raven. But I think he will be Champion of some belt on the main roster soon.

2 Seth Rollins
http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps2734a4e2.jpg
I wanna see Seth Kick in HHH Teeth. I mean you can bet Rollins return for his belt will be a great moment for Roman haters.

1 Dean Ambrose

Once WWE gets out of his way and just push the guy he will be big as Punk with Fans. He has an Edge Type of feel with a Bit of a Roddy Pipper kind of crazy.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I'm surprised I didn't notice this thread til just now. As someone who watched the Attitude Era when I was a kid, I've been watching wrestling on and off again all my life. My favorite wrestler ever is Mick Foley. If it wasn't for him, I would have never gotten into wrestling like I did. Watching him in the AE was pretty much my gateway into ECW, hardcore wrestling, deathmatch wrestling, and indy wrestling in general.

As for WWE, I stopped watching sometime in 2007 (after the Benoit incident) but began watching again in like 2012 I think. I'm still watching Raw, but it's usually hit-or-miss. Sometimes it gets pretty bad, but I haven't given up yet. :p

Yeah IRS was Mike Rotundo he was part of the Varsity Club with Rick Steiner back in the NWA. He and Barry wrestled down here in Florida before that.

That Seth Rollins seems to be the total package right now. You need someone strong to be the company heel. I saw the clip on YouTube of Foley, Austin, and Shawn Michaels whooping on some new guys (Im not familiar with current product) and got that old rush. LOVE when I hear the breaking glass :D

That Was at this years Wrestlemania Austin and Crew Beat up, Rusev,Sheamus and Alberto Delrio. Then Lastly King Barret.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Monday Night Raw will be on tomarrow for 3 hours. HHH is scheduled too be on too confront Reigns and likely mess over Styles being Number One Contender. I also heard that maybe Dean Ambrose will start a feud with Y2J briefly while AJ Styles faces Reigns and Maybe HHH.

He is a hometown hero! My dad actually used to wrestle in the 80's all around the Canada, USA and Puerto Rico. If anyone who knows who Carlito is, he is actually my cousin although I don't believe we've seen each other since I was a baby. His mom is my dads sister, and my dad was trained and taught to wrestle by her husband and Carlitos dad Carlos down in Puerto Rico, he lived down there for a long time actually. My dad was actually wrestling in this territory for the Hart family and that's how he met my mom. So basically I can thank wrestling for being alive, hahahahahaha.

And I don't know about you guys, but I loved ECW in its heyday and WCW used to be classic, I loved Monday Nitro.

My Monday Night Raw Review

The Highlights Of The Show.

1 Opening Match with Cesaro vs Owens For Number One Contenders Match For IC title. Cesaro Wins

2 Sammy Zayn vs AJ Styles. AJ Styles wins

3 Dean Ambrose Ribbing Jericho About Deans Assylem His Knock Of The Highlight Reel.

I hope that is legit for Dean does have a Piper Feel too him. He'd be funny with a Deans Pit type of segment.

The Tag Match With Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt vs Sheamus and Alberto Delro was not very good.

And I wanna see Enzo and Cass in a match already.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I think Enzo will be a good promo master and I think they will never last long term like the Usos or Dudleys. Because Big Cass could be special after a few years in the Tag division and Enzo could have a good run on smaller titles.

NedStark09 04-12-16 09:45 PM

Top 10 WCW Wrestlers.

10 Dean Malenko
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...Malenko016.jpg

He was never given a proper chance in the wwe other then a behind the scenes person. Yet Mysterio, Benoit and others got belts and he was the guy who gave the best match of the night.

9 Harlem Heat
http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/...harlemheat.jpg
Best Tag Team In My Opinion. I thought it was dumb that Bookers gets in and its not Harlem heat which means Stevie Ray will never get in the hall but Booker T can. Doesnt seem fair but then again Harlem heat was a WCW team.

8 Ray Mysterio Jr
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...terioJr033.jpg
I will admit he was good in his prime its just now his knees are so blown out that wwe wont sign him but will others like Alberto and AJ Styles but wont let this man finish on a worthy contract.

Naisy 04-13-16 01:42 AM

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

WWE were begging for Mysterio to come back. In fact they extended his contract without his consent because of how much time he had spent of injured (which was WWE's right). He refused to work or take his pay from WWE because he wanted to leave to go to AAA. AJ Styles is worth signing he was TNA's top guy for over decade and big in Japan. I have no idea what the point of re-signing Del Rio who is boring as can be when they have Kalisto.

I heard Samoa Joe was a big deal but I gotta say I haven't seen him have many worthwhile matches for NXT. Even against Balor he was just ok. I think the idea of using Samoa Joe to build up new stars in the NXT brand is fine. He will be on the main roster soon enough. AJ just happens to fill the gap at the moment they need of a younger, faster, fitter Jericho. Especially if they are planning on reuniting the bullet club.

WWE Monday Night Raw Returns and she will be Live From London. Dean Malenko was probably my second favourite wrestler to watch after Bret Hart. Guy was unbelievable, very underrated. Too bad he didn't have much personality neither did Bret in all honesty.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I'm against the majority on this one. I think Big Show is really underrated as a performer of his size. Naturally he has gotten a lot slower with his age in recent years but early on he was a powerhouse. He was the measuring stick for strength. If you could perform your finisher on Big Show you could perform it on anyone. Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Goldberg. People never cut sick bigger then when these guys picked up the Big Show. I lost it when Cena agree his character is awful from terrible booking and flip flopping heel and face but overall he has always put in 100% for the company. He has been put in some terrible celebrity matches at mania over the years but he takes it all and seems like a genuine good bloke.

True fact, pro-wrestling (or sports entertainment) has a higher mortality rate than the movie and music industry. Too much juice, too many painkillers, too many days on the road, and just too physically demanding to be performing as often as they do. The wear and tear is such that the effects become permanent, and too many die young.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Agreed TONGO, it's crazy how many wrestlers die young. Less than a month before Chyna two ECW wrestlers, Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney, passed away and both were in their 40s also.

Wrestlers get so little respect but they're the ones that get their bodies torn up more than any other athlete in any sport. They have to try to maintain there image while also dealing with the constant pain of performing 300 matches a year.

RIP Chyna.

It seemed like it all started with Brian Pillman, and then got progressively worse from there. I was following the business thru Dave Meltzers Wrestling Observer, it was the only true definitive honest news what goes on behind the scenes in the business. It still is the #1 source on the industry, but there are many copycats out since.

After Chris Benoit though, I was done. Benoit was just so respected and revered worldwide inside the industry, Benoit was to pro-wrestling like Ted Williams was to baseball, the best. Then that happened.....I was done following the business. To depressing to enjoy when you realize the true price thats being paid.

Of course these are the workers from Hulk Hogan till the end of the Attitude era, will Seth Rollins be alive in 20 years or Cena? I dont see normal physiques, they still work them to death, and I dont know how itll be any different.

Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes died this year too. I wait any day to hear Ric Flair kicking the bucket. Its a shame Chyna will not get in the hall of fame while she was alive. all because Stephanie wouldnt allow it.

Why? I think they are two of the more interesting/entertaining big men but it is pretty nuts finding those two the best.

I think there are a different between saying someone is the best, and saying these are my personal favorites... and yes as you said they are interesting and entertaining. I haven't watched that much wrestling again, and I don't have a channel to watch it on, so I'm choosing my personal favorites out of the ones I've seen.

Sorry i meant why are they your favourites?

I think for me the attraction is their personas. I can't say anything about their wrestling style, and whatever you would call it. I think I enjoy the scary element to it - with Kane being huge and wearing a mask, just looking kind of scary. So yeah I prefer him in the outfit I posted, and not as he looks here:
http://cdn3-www.wrestlezone.com/asse...6042377508.jpg

The Undertaker is just a cool, scary goth dude.

So as you can tell for me it's all about the persona they are portraying.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Its there ora but Vince ruined Kane with taking off his mask.Kane's best matches was first blood match for the belt with Austin and his inferno match with taker.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I don't think anyone can genuinely argue that Undertaker should be high if not top of the list in terms of greatest ever. Kane however while a good character has never been great in the ring even his best matches are only good and they rely so heavily on gimmicks. He would never have a main event worthy one on one match without a stipulation.

NedStark09 04-26-16 12:27 PM

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

He was a good foil For The Undertaker but i also gotta say the first time he was unmasked kane was probably his best work as a vile heel when he tombstone Linda McMahon and hooked up Shane McMahons balls too a car battery.

Naisy 04-26-16 10:38 PM

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Which is where I agree as a character he was fantastic, savage and certainly proven to be able to have a long term story development but as a wrestler he certainly isn't on the same level as The Undertaker. The worst match I have ever seen was Kane Vrs Khali. There was a kickout which could not have looked worse. I have rolled over in bed while sleeping with more intensity.

Never liked DDP. Razor Ramon>DDP for me easily.

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Some people dont like him and thats ok. Razor was good in his prime. I just think others deserved in the hall before Razor is all.

Naisy 04-29-16 06:33 AM

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

I have a lot of respect for DDP, simply for him never letting his age be a barrier for one. Gotta say I'm also a fan of the diamond cutter. Razor was a better character but I would say I find DDP better to watch but thats just personal preference. Who is on the Stone Cold Podcast this weekend? I'm looking forward to checking out Camp WWE

DDP is the reason Jake The Snake Roberts and Hall cleaned up enough too make the hall of fame and kick drugs long enough.

Yeah Dallas Page is one of those guys who was a better man than a star. In Foleys autobiography there were some truly hilarious stories how he & Austin would mess with Dallas. If you havent read Mick Foleys autobiography it is a MUST READ :yup:

Found a wrestling injury vid, that Sid Vicous fall makes me turn away everytime

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Heres a gorey true story about Sabu....

Back almost 20 years ago in the ECW days Sabu was in a Idk three way match or something, and trash cans and baseball bats and a table on its back (legs up) are laying in the ring. I read about this so my details are sketchy, but trust me this is true. So Sabu goes to the top turnbuckle, and is gonna do a splash onto someone laying in the ring.

So he goes to jump, and right then another wrestler hit the top rope, unintentionally jarring Sabu and knocked him off course for his splash. Sabu goes from the top turnbuckle, and his face hits the table leg sticking up, rips thru his cheek which is dangling from his face......get this, he finished the match.

Back in the locker room after the match Heyman was freaking out, Tommy Dreamer too, and was insisting to Sabu that he take an ambulance ride to the hospital. Now heres the good part - Sabu wouldnt, didnt want to spend the money, and super glued his cheek back together right in front of all of them in the locker room. That is a true story. :yup: Sabus defending logic was that super glue was originally invented as a wartime way to close wounds, which actually is true.

Awesome story TONGO . Please keep these up in this thread i'll listen to and love everyone of them.

The first time i saw Sabu in action he instantly became my favourite wrestler, only lasted a few weeks but i always took him as a believable world champion in the same mold as Rey Misterio who i just couldn't suspend disbelief enough to imagine him beating any of the top guys, if it was under dirty circumstances like Eddie Guerrero's character was supposed to be then fair enough but 100 pound Luchadore consistently beats the 200+ guys is just hard to swallow especially since the bigger guys have to work with him for some moves because he doesn't have the strength to pull it off himself.

Sabu is the nephew of The Sheik. Now The Sheik, that is THE greatest heel in the history of the business. Back in the 50's and 60's the Shiek would come out to the ring, and the fans would run from him. He did the fire breathing stuff and everyone that worked with him would have to juice (get cut, bleed), which scared the holy hell out of the fans seeing their hometown boy getting butchered by this arab.

Its really a tragedy that WWE ignores the Lucha talent. Oh my gosh those guy are magic! Back in WCW when Rey Mysterio first came....most of the guys couldnt believe this little squirt was walking in the locker room and supposed to work with them. There was one guy that knew who Rey was and screamed out for everyone to hear, "See that guy! He can outwork all of us! Come here Rey." It was Scott Steiner, he had already seen Mysterio work. After Reys first match all the boys marked out for him big time, and whenever he wrestled they would all crowd around the monitor backstage to watch. :)

They should have created a Lucha type division and stuck with it. I remember in WCWs camelot NWO years half their show was "cool" NWO, and the other half the "middleweights" where Eddie, Ultimo Dragon, Rey, Juventud, Dean Malenko, etc... and those matches were purely fantastic.

Camo 04-29-16 09:12 PM

THE greatest heel in the history of the business.
I disagree personally. I think Hogan winning the title off him for the first time has made him more legendary than he should have been, the shah stuff is incredibly dated. So is basically every word he said, i mean i don't find any of it offensive but i do find them embarrasing.

I'll respond to the rest in a minute mate i have to do something, all i'll say is Dean Malenko is a top five wrestler (#2 for me), guy is probably number 1 in the ring ever.

TONGO 04-29-16 09:16 PM

Re: The Official WWE Wrestling Thread. All Things Pro Wrestling.

Dean Malenkos school is in Tampa. He was the main worker behind a small wrestling outfit I helped out with a few times, Suncoast Pro Wrestling. Thats late 80s early 90s before he went to WCW, and made a name for himself. That man could work. He did so many tours in japan, plus his dad was a wrestling legend, fugedaboudit, he was as good as any.

Terrible ending... Once again Roman Reigns with 5 moves of doom get the victory with a highly predictable Spear and kick out at 2 50 times in the match... AJ Styles deserved that win and I was hoping to see Seth Rollins return at the end but nothing :(
