What movie have you seen the most times?
For me its either the Empire Strikes Back or (ha laugh now) City Slickers
|
For me it is sadly Orgazmo, because my friends insist on a viewing every chance they get.
|
probably akira...i've seen that movie more times than i can count.
|
Probably US Marshalls
|
2001:A Space Odyssey
But never on the big screen, which pisses me off very much. |
Terminator
First movie I bought on DVD
|
Probably Casablanca and/or BladeRunner.

What movie have you seen the most times?
On purpose? Raiders of the Lost Ark - I can put that movie in any time and enjoy it.
By accident? Airplane - It's run on TV a lot and I just can't flip past it once I see it's on. |
Probably "Ivanhoe" (1982) by Douglas Camfield. They show it here every New Year's Day. It's like bad luck NOT to watch it. So you lie there every 1st day of the new year, hungover, pizza all over your stomache..... and watch Ivanhoe. And every time you realize what a wuss that so called knight is! He's just recovering from his wounds the whole bloody film!
|
"True Romance". I can watch that film over and over again. It's entertaining, has a Durham load of actors, great writing, directing... its got action, comedy, romance. A very entertaining film. I've honestly seen it about 25 times.
I love, love. love the Sicilian speach. |
For me probably The Godfather Part II

In some ways, you could say he never went in sane. Just became self-aware. But personally, I just look at it from a philosophic like standpoint. Each chapter represented a different stage of human evolution. The first represented our earliest as apes, our second as reasoning and curious humans, then he took on Artificial Intelligence, which looked like the next form to come around, followed by the next step, which is the star child. They all continued to evolve and kept adapting. Although HAL at first seemed beneficial, his inability to recognize anything but emotionless fact led to his downfall. But this is just my look on the film, I don't pretend to know in the slightest that I know everything Kubrick was trying to accomplish with this movie. Probably why I like it so much. |
What I found interesting was that HAL basically lied to Dave, cause he told Dave that he never put much thought into the rumors of finding the artifact on the moon. then when dave gets the briefing we learn HAL knew all about it, so did HAL want Dave to know wihtout directly telling him?

Yeah but what do you mean to see what Dave would do next? actually after Dave responds that he knows nothing about the rumors HAL then proceeds and thats when he interupts himself, and says that the trasmitter thing is going to break down.

I think Blazing Saddles, Airplane! and probably The Blues Brothers, the first 2 Naked Gun movies, Wall-E and The Incredibles would all be well into the hundreds of views. The first 2 I watched on repeat as a kid, the second three when I was a little older (but apparently no more mature) and the two Pixars are ones that everyone in the family loves (WALL-E in particular used to be the only thing played in our DVD player, the only thing played on my iPod on car journeys and practically the only thing we watched at all for months when my son was a baby). `Wall-E`and `Eve`were among his first words.

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
The Empire Strikes Back, Ghostbusters or Star Wars. I lost count on all of those somewhere around 20-25 times.
|

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Hard to say. In a technical sense it's probably something I watched a lot as a kid just because it was around and I liked it, like Cabin Boy or something.
But having grown up a bit and thinking only of "serious" viewings where I was paying a fair amount of attention, there's probably a four-way tie (or nearly so) between Up, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Dark Knight, The Departed, each of which I've probably seen about 7-8 times, give or take. The Shawshank Redemption is probably one or two viewings back. |

|
Star Wars, without a doubt.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Wizard of Oz, The movie has been my favorite since I was about 5 and saw it the first time, and I still watch it whenever I am sick, perfect watch while your sick movie.

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I think that would probably be The Lion King. I was 1 when it came out, and I'm pretty sure it was the first movie I saw at a cinema (not that that has much to do with it :p). But in the last 17 years, I'd be willing to bet I've seen it all the way through - at varying degrees of attention-paying - probably 50-60 times at least.
|
The Godfather, Caddyshack, Die Hard and probably the first X-Men.

Either Jurassic Park or Jaws, but more than likely Jurassic Park.

4. Ghostbusters
4 times in the theatre. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...-590x350-1.jpg Bill Murray at his sharpest, proton packs, sliming goblins, a key master, a gatekeeper, a giant marshmellow man, streams crossing and a really big "Twinkie". Oh, and also, a really crappy theme song. Let's not forget that really crappy song. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...rror/2-1-1.jpg 3. Raiders Of The Lost Ark 5 times in a theatre. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...htycelesti.jpg These days no matter how much I try to assimilate with all the other adults my age, most of whom have had they're childhood spirits crushed along time ago, Raiders a film with alot affection for me, that never fail to bring a smile to my now grown-up hairy pimp-ass. This early blockbuster that not only shaped the way I enjoy watching movies, but also, it also contributes to the foundation of why going to the theatre & having the experience of being swept away by what is playing on the big silver screen has become one the greatest joys in my life. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...iders_1220.jpg 2. Temple Of Doom 6 times. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...mple_593-1.jpg I am one of in the minority who likes this better than the Last Crusade. While I feel that LC's story was stronger & more down to Earth, for me, the Temple Of Doom action's sequences, while many times cartoonishly unrealistic, still were done with a lot of energy & suspense. Plus, IMO, the stunts didn't seem to try to copy the first Indy film as much as LC did. I remember all the hootin' & hollerin' that was going on the theatre during TOD, whereas LC, as exciting as it was, didn't seem to invoke as much from the audience (at least, that was the case when I went to go see it). And when it comes to listing my favorites, there are times where my experience in the theatre tends to influence my take on the film. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...emple_1309.jpg 1. Aliens 16 times. I saw this frikkin' movie 16 times in a theatre. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ym41_low-1.jpg This entry goes to show how carefree the life of an adolescent is. Only a kid with absolutely no responsibilities should be goin' to the theatre that many times. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...074Alien-1.jpg |
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
For me, it's probably a top 10 looking something like this (with no particular order):
The Wizard of Oz Man on Fire Shawshank Redemption Forrest Gump Finding Nemo Life Independence Day Click V for Vendetta Wedding Crashers |
City Slickers
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Braveheart - 11 times in theater
|
Michael Mann's "Heat"
and Guy Ritchie's "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels" |
Probably Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Terminator 2. Used to watch one of the 3 on VCR every day after school.
As far as adult life is concerned. Bourne 1 and 2 Dark Knight/Batman Begins. LOTR 1 and 2 The Prestige. Godfather. Leon. I feel I have spoiled some of these films from far too much viewing. Especially Star Wars. I cant bear to watch it anymore. As for theatre visits, Attack of the Clones 5 times. Matrix Reloaded 5 times. Two towers 4 times. Home alone 4 times (i think) |
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I've also seen The Polar Express pretty much every Christmas since it came out - against my will I might add.
|

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Wow - I guess I love movies so much that I guess I'd have to separate my listings into movies I grew up and still watch - and movies that I like now that I can watch anytime.

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I think the original Dawn Of The Dead, i'm not sure how many times i've seen it but I lost count a long time ago. My favorite character got turned, didn't see that coming the first time I saw the movie.

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
my fave movie of all time; 500 DOS or This Is England
|
'Commando' - THE quintessential action film. Overblown, overdone and overworked and one of the few films to pull that off perfectly and still keep its feet firmly on the ground as well as hold a decent narrative and pace. Moreover it is just fun, fun, fun. :D
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
i have seen mr india 27 times
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Full Metal Jacket. I watch this like once a week since I first saw it last year:D. But sometimes I watch only the first 8 minutes. Hartman is so f*cking hilarious LOL

I'd say Pulp Fiction and Die Hard
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Probably A Nightmare On Elm St. or Child's Play
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I used to re-watch films far more frequently than I do now, but I'd probably have to go with the original, animated Peter Pan.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
ip man : x
|
Probably the Lion King. I've seen that movie so many times.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
SNATCH! I love this movie, but it's not my favourite, I have just had to watch it a multitude of times because my partner and his friends loved it so much many years ago, playing it 3 times a day for a few months. Thankfully that hasn't made me hate it :D
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I've rewatched The Ninja Assassin, The Breakfast Club, Spirited Away, and Rocky Horror Picture Show more times than I can count.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I've actually figured out that the film I've watched the most, in my lifetime, is either Scream or Inglourious Basterds. The latter is my dad's favourite movie, so him and I watch it a lot, and the former was probably the most played dvd in my collection in 2009.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I have never seen Inglourious Bastards...
|
Me neither. I'm sure I'll watch it on tv one day and, hell, I may even wish I'd seen it earlier. But, somehow, I doubt it. Tarantino's really not making anything I want to see in the next 10 years. If it wasn't for Death Proof, he wouldn't have made anything I wanted to see since Jackie Brown. :(
|
If I had to choose I would have to say The Lion King, Titanic and Stand By Me
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Wow, well... when I find a movie I really like I often have a short obsession in which I watch the movie MANY times in a month but including movies from my childhood that I've watched over and over and up to now...
The Lion King Fantasia Anistasia Mean Girls Zombieland I know there is more but thats what is at the top of my head. :) |
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?

Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
The Fifth Element
|
Probably "The Patriot."
I think that movie is Mel Gibson's best acting of all time. Also "The Mummy" I can watch that movie over and over and still get a laugh. Love it! |
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Requiem for a dream and GodFather
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
A clock work orange and Matrix.

Pulp Fiction (I know the dialogue by heart)
Groundhog Day (I saw it as many times as Phil Connors relives February 2nd...maybe a little more...haha) The Big Lebowski (I never get bored of this...and I laugh just as much everytime) The Breakfast Club (same as Pulp Fiction...dialogue is in my head) Rocky series (I saw parts 1, 3, 4 the most times) |

If I had a dollar for every time i've seen the movie Spaceballs I'd be buying every movie I could find at the nearest blu-ray store...Seriously, I can quote almost the entire film. |
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
It's probably "The Godfather", but I remember my brother and I watching "Dog Day Afternoon" about 15 times in a matter of a couple of months. Probably why I haven't watched it in over 30 years.
|
Ok Hard to pick one :p so here a few I watch over and over

The Blues Brothers
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I've seen most Mel brooks movies many many times
|
terminator 2, know every line from the theatrical release, and almost the lines from the extended special edtion... (the first time I viwed it was when I was seven, kind of explains my obsession, well not really)
|
Pulp Fiction, Godfather I & II, Goodfellas
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
There are quite a few lol but I would have to say, Man on fire with Denzil Washington
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Good Will Hunting, probably? I really don't know.
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
I thought I'd posted in here a while back, can't seem to see my post though.
Movie I've seen most is Young Guns. Along with random other movies I'd watch, I'd watch Young Guns without fail every day from age 10 till I was 15, then have watched once or twice a month since then too. Rough calculation is well over 2000 times, maybe close to 2500. |
Probably The Shawshank Redemption.

The movie I've seen the most times (and not on my favorites list, although it's not far below #10) is probably Star Wars. That's including the umpteen times I saw it in its original run, plus when it was re-released as "A New Hope." Then there was its cable run, when it came out on VHS, plus when "The Special Edition" came out, then, finally the times I've seen it on the DVD I bought. But, I only bought one DVD! :)
|
Re: What movie have you seen the most times?
Okay, folks:
There are a number of films that I've liked well enough to see more than once, but West Side Story, which I never get tired of seeing, is a movie that I've seen more times than I'm able or willing to count, at this point. |
