Greatest Ever Movie Villains
10. Judge Doom (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?)
9. Captain Vidal (Pan's Labyrinth) 8. Alex DeLarge (A Clockwork Orange) 7. Anton Chigurh (No Country For Old Men) 6. Gordon Gekko (Wall Street) 5. Begbie (Trainspotting) 4. Daniel Plainview (There Will Be Blood) 3. The Terminator (Terminator 1) 2. The Joker (The Dark Knight) 1. Darth Vader (Star Wars Eps 3-6) |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
1. The Joker (Batman)
2. Captain Barbossa (Pirates of Carribean) 3. Darth Vader (Star Wars) 4. Alien (Aliens) 5. Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street) 6. Ghostface (Scream) 7. Michael Myers (Halloween) 8. Magneto (X-Men) 9. Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) 10. Scarecrow (Batman) |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Good list but Scarecrow just wasn't fascinating enough for me. Names like Jason, Alien, Predator were just outside my top 10. Great horror/Scifi villains.
|
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Besides the Joker, Scarecrow is my favorite villain. Joker's humor really adds on to his personality though.
I'm just in love with the whole Alien series, and that's how it got on my top ten. Jason may be a bit obvious, but he is one of the few people that helped shape the slasher flicks. |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
That's for sure, if it wasn't for Jason and his series of movies would we ever have had Scream?
|
These threads have been done before, but probably my top two are George C Scott in The Hustler and John Huston in Chinatown. Both money grabbing, impersonal and ammoral capitalistic at it's most cannbalistic extreme. Take all the Darth Vadars and silly Hannibal Lectors you want, they simply just don't compare.

Some of my favorites:
Alec Baldwin from The Cooler and Miami Blues Ben Kingsley from Sexy Beast Kevin Spacey from The Usual Suspects and Se7en Rutger Hauer from The Hitcher Louise Fletcher from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest |
When it comes to villains, I always seem to think of Scorpio from the first Dirty Harry. He was truly ruthless and pathetic at the same time.

For me, hands down it's Javier Bardem as Anton, in No Country for Old Men.

I wouldn't count Gordon Gekko as a villain more as someone who is misunderstood.
And Joker needs to be at the top of your list! |

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Joel Schumacher, that guy ruined the 90s for me lol. Seriously, The Joker, Vader, Zod, Magneto, Fernand Mondego, Prince Humperdinck.

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Nice avatar, Kinosis, that thing should be in it's own list. I watched the movie when I was younger and it was really disturbing watching that thing move.
|
My favorite, of course:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUcMohewjvI (not sure why the volume's so low on this clip, sorry.) "I shall strike down those dearest to you. You shall watch as I bathe in their blood." |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Great clip, regardless.

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
I wish he was the main antagonist in the movie instead of the father.
|
I like this video and mostly agree with it.It just lacks "Leon" villain (Gary Oldman) and some non human villains - Drath Vader and Hal especially.

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Very interesting video.
|
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
yep,it's well made. The music fits perfectly and the creator cut the best facial expressions of the villains most of the times. :)
|
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
No one has said Voldemort yet?
Alex in A Clockwork Orange... both villain and hero= perfection Joker & Bane & Scarecrow Speaking of Scarecrow, Jackson played by Cillian Murphy in Scarecrow |
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
I don't think Voldemort is the greatest, honestly. It's hard to imagine he made it to anyone's top ten. I think Joker and Scarecrow are my two favorite Batman villains.
|
Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Heath was probably my favorite Joker, next to Nicholson.

Hanibal Lecter (Silence Of The Lambs) and John Doe (Se7en). These two are more than just villains. They also take a great amount of pleasure by just hurting people using only them. Last but not least - Scar (Lion King). He ruined my childhood. I hate his guts!

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
1) Vader
2) The rest |
|
I think Ivan Drago is simply misunderstood, as a child I saw him as a villian but I don't anymore.

1. The Joker - Dark Knight
2. Verbal Kint/Keyser Sose - The Usual Suspects 3. Tyler Durden - Fight Club 4. Pazazu - The Exorcist 5. Gary Oldman - Leon (can't remember his name) 6. Reverand Kane - Poltergeist 2 7. Jaws - Moonraker/The Spy Who Loved Me 8. Mr.Blonde - Reservoir Dogs 9. Tommy Devito/Desimone - Goodfellas 10. Lil Ze - City Of God |

Just some of my favourites. I'm pretty sure there are many more who I've forgotten about / not seen yet

Re: Greatest Ever Movie Villains
Haven't been on the site for a while but it's good to see some new lists. I'm thinking of expanding my list to 20 and maybe even moving a few names around after having thought about my older list a bit more. Stay tuned for more.

Some of my favorites:
http://content9.flixster.com/questio...152259_std.jpg Police Captain Hank Quinlan (Touch of Evil) Such an AWESOME villain. He's corrupt, murderous, full of trauma, an alcoholist and he truely believes that's he's doing the right thing. The fact that he's right about the case in the end, makes him only more admirable. http://whatremainsnow.com/wp-content...mmy-DeVito.jpg Tommy DeVito (Goodfellas) Just a funny guy. Noah Cross (Chinatown) Pure evil in the form of a very believable John Huston. http://dcairns.files.wordpress.com/2...ap-2215125.png Harry Lime (The Third Man) Classy, charming and rotten from the inside. He's not that long in the film, but when he is, he steals the show! He also has one of the most memorable introduction scenes in the history of cinema. http://media.theiapolis.com/d8/hMO/i...-in-django.jpg Calvin Candie (Django Unchained) I know he's still very recent, but for me he was just an instant classic. Awesome performance of a charming, but black-hearted (lol) character. |
