Favorite French Movies
Ahhh.. I keep putting off my Japanese list so strangely enough ( perhaps someone here inspired me ) I will post my favorite French movie list. All contributions to this thread are always wecome and greatly appreciated so if you have some movies that are not on this list, do not hesitate to add your favorites. Heck, even if they are list them and let me know what you think. So, here they are in no particular order of joy ( it's always easier to list them alphabetically ):

No, these are my favs. I always see 3 or 4 French films every month---I'm usually pretty consistent. Also top 50 or top 100 lists around here are reversed to generate suspense in the final outcome. So the bottom column, 20 - 1, would be the best of the best.

Don't know about America(I've never heard anyone from America use the term for other animations outside), but Les Triplettes de Belleville is called an animation in my world, certainly not anime - this term is connected to animations that come out of Japan.

I believe the point she was making is that "Anime" is a term used for Japanese animation and, therefore, has a distinctive style.

WOOOW, where to begin :P I'm Belgian, born in a french-speaking family, so I grew up watching a lot of french films. There are sooo many good ones, its impossible to name them all.
A small list of all time favorites would be: Asterix et Obelix - Mission Cleopatre Le Grand Blue Les Visiteurs Le Gendarme Le petit baigneur Bienvenue Chez les Ch'ties But really, the entire Gendarme franchise, Taxi franchise, every single Louis De Funes movie, Les Bronzés franchise,... The french are the masters of humor, in my opinion. Any movie with Jean Reno, Gerard Depardieu, Christian Clavier, Danny Boon, Louis de Funes, Thierry Lhermitte or Jean-Paul Belmondo are great and fun to watch! Edit: Damn!
