My Movie Website
Is right here.
Granted, it's still in its development stages, like the banner, the photo gallery, and the side menu bar. We're working right now on some custom scripts for a daily news box and cleaning out the various paths one must click to get to a page that the side menu provides for them. And the counter is messed up- it adds up whenever you go to any page and not just the home. It's some sort of cookie problem. We have three movies up, and we're filming one right now and we're on pre-pro for another. I have my own blog, which consists of me talking about the weirder things in life and shedding my own opinion on various topics. Tell us what you think about them and everything else in our forum or even in this thread; either way would greatly suffice. I guess I can say that my site and blog won't appeal to everyone, but to those who do, spread the word about it to your friends. I'd appreciate it, and I'm glad that you enjoyed our work. P.S. I'd like to thank Peter (OG-) for giving me the details on the great web hoster that we both now work with. Without him, my site would probably stink worse than it already is. |
Nice site, sorry, i tried to watch one of your movies, it took hrs to download, in the end I just gave up :(
|
We're trying to figure out what the overall problem is in terms of why some people are saying our films are taking awhile to load. Half don't complain, while the other half does. I think it could either be your computer or internet, or something that hasn't quite caught my eye yet.
But thanks for checking it out. |

Hey, thanks for the feedback.
All I ask is that you guys tell your friends, and help spread the word about us. That'd be really orgasmic if you could. Jason, nebbs... what did you guys think? |

Anyone else? |
We have a new movie up in our National Holiday section called December 2nd: Get A Clue Day.
Here's some advice for you: - It might help to watch it twice. - Using your imagination to fill in the "gaps" makes it more fun to watch. - Pay attention to the character's dialogue in the garage to get a better feel as to what was going on behind the door with the mysterious red light. Hope you MoFo's enjoy it. |
I did watch it twice, all I can say is, I want to know what was happening when it went dark. :yup: i liked it Seth :yup:
|
I'll be her toilet? I don't understand...What is he saying when he's whispering, just before the girl comes in the garage?
|
Maybe it is just reference to she can be dirty to him :dizzy:

Thanks folks.
So far, feedback on that one has been good. Please tell your friends, it'd be great. Say, does anyone have any ideas on how I can promote my site other than word of mouth and posting MySpace bulletins? |
We made a new movie and we posted it up.
It's called December 25th. It's much more tamer than the other National Holiday episodes, but it's actually getting good reviews and people are saying it has the best acting out of all of them so far. Just remember to tell your friends about my site. Word of mouth is starting to slowly kick in, which is good and I want to see it gradually grow. Kudos to those of you who've already done what I've so easilly asked ;). |
Dude, I watched, Bon Appetit!. Some good stuff. Why was the file 9mbs? You should be able to get the same quality while having the file size smaller. Try posting MOVS and not AVIS. MOV gives you a lot more options.
Here's some constructive critisicm. Tweak you audio. It sounded like it was clipping. You can do that in your timeline with what's called "rubber banding." All you need to do is set keyframes in your audio and slide them up or down so that you get them to hit -12db's in your audio's level. Nice editing by the way. I like the last shot of the guy being thrown on the table and the way it shakes the camera. NICE. Anyways, like I said, some good stuff. Just tweak your audio, output it is mono too, and think about exporting your final piece as a quicktime movie. Keep making movies no matter what. It's the best thing an aspiring filmmaker can do. Oh yeah, since you're probably shooting on digital, try taping off your view finder into different aspect ratios to see what each of them has to offer. You can find those ratios on the web. You'll be able to play sides a lot differently. If you're planning on using these for things besides the web, stick with your camcorders native chip ratio, 4:3. Again, good luck. EDIT: DUDE! People are not watching your movies from your website because they're freakin huge. I though the 9mb one was big but you've got things on there that are 100mbs and 200mbs. Export those bad-boys into quicktime and mess with the settings until you can get something good that's around 5-8 mbs. |
Thanks, Pimp. I wrote down some things I want to do for the site in '07.
For one, I'm going to convert all the Movies, not National Holiday, to MPEG-4 format so that people can put them onto their iPod's. As for Quicktime and .mov's, yeah, I've considered it, but for some reason my friend, the website dude, told me to wait on putting anything Quicktime related onto the site... I honestly don't know why he said that. Though of course, he's the type of guy you wouldn't want to touch you. I'll take a look at that audio situation and see what I can do about it. Thanks for complimenting my editing skills and your enjoyment of my movies and the encouragment of continuing on with films. Thanks for that. Don't forget to tell your friends as well, please. I'll be sure to post all new film and updates in this thread. Anyone else see the new National Holiday? If so, what'd ya think? |

I'm contemplating uploading one of the earliest films I ever made, Night of the Stupid Dead, to both the site and on YouTube. It's 8 minutes long, so gay MySpace film won't hold it.
Stupid Tom Anderson. I say "contemplate" because the humor is immature, 8th grade based humor (because it was made when I was in the 8th grade) One nice little tid-bit about it is that when I brought it in, I accidently broadcasted it throughout my entire middle school, so whoever had their televisions on saw it, instead of the intended second period English class. I didn't get in trouble for it, but I was never allowed to show that or any other of my movies at my middle school from that point on. Looks as if I struck controversy at an early age. Still, I'm sure some people would like to see my earliest work and how I started off. I mean, everyone has to start somewhere. Anywho, if I decide to do it, I'll post another post saying such things. |
Yesterday, National Holiday - December 8th: Stick It In The Ear Day had a total view count of 2,680 views, whereas in the beginning of the week (New Year's Day - Just a day before) it had 2,315 views on YouTube.
Today it has 2,785 views. Wowzers. I said it once, and I'll say it again, dammit: Somebody must be telling their friends. You may have noticed I haven't been posting many bulletins requesting such things because I feel that by now this film and the rest of them are just now being spread casually instead of being forced. My ultimate goal for the this film (and my others, for that matter) is for it to achieve an honor from YouTube. So now I stress that you PLEASE tell your friends about National Holiday - December 8th: Stick It In The Ear Day and our website, www.matzarubaa.com. Also, for those of you who will be returning back to college when classes resume, do me a favor and tell your college friends as well. I hope that boosts up the view count as well. I don't know what the criteria is for achieving an honor, but I think that if everyone tells their friends and link it to sites and discuss it, then I think we'll achieve our goal. Thanks everyone. |
Well, Stick It In The Ear Day just went past 4 G's.
Thank you to those of you who are telling and showing your friends our films, and I ask for those of you who haven't that please do, if you don't mind. This is really good, and the viewer counts still continue to grow a lot each day. Thanks MoFo!!! |
Here's a blog I posted that some of you I hope will enjoy:
A Change For My Future Films To Come (I Hope)... To the fans of my movies, this blog is for all three of you. No, I'm not retiring from film making. (I know that's a dissapointment to many of you) I've decided that this year alone, with the National Holiday movies, that I've made too many sex-orriented films with gay undertones. Granted, it's funny, but it's only funny so many times. So that's why I'm going to make three final films with this subject material in them (two of which are a side-project I'm doing with Normandy High School's Radio & TV department) and gradually move on without the sex jokes. The controversy was fun (I'm primarilly speaking to my school's teachers and principal of so-called "education") but it keeps getting harder to think of new material and finding people to do the acts on film. Plus, the characters they played had caused some people to look at them differently in real life, which I guess isn't cool. At any rate, if the two actors I have in mind to play the parts I want them to in the what I hope to be the last of the sex films, then it should all go out with a good and shocking bang. Not literally. You pervert. My plans after those is to use violence and only showing some of it on film and allowing the imagination to fill in the gaps; I love it when films do that, and thats something I'd personally like to experiment with, with comedy added in. And that's all she wrote for me. Love, Seth www.matzarubaa.com (Tell your friends or I'll gut your parents out like fishes! :) ) |
Re: My Movie Website
Thanks to Yoda for putting to use the YouTube tags, I figured I might as well post the YouTube video's of my web series on here:
National Holiday - December 8th: Take It In The Ear Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDzksU0JsAY National Holiday - March 18th: Awkward Moment Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqTl4rvnrJI National Holiday - December 2nd: Get A Clue Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKiWs3F-giI National Holiday - December 25th http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g25gxqX1u8E Root Punch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwDHqjxR7tE Bon Appetit! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5lA4Uxhds0 The March 18th movie and Bon Appetit! both star MoFo's own Uncle Rico, a.k.a. James Tarkey. I'm only in one of these movies, and that's December 25th, where I'm the brother who get's tackled by Santa in the background by, once again, Uncle Rico. Hope you guys enjoy. We're still constantly getting over 100+ hits a night on our Take It In The Ear Day movie. People must really find it to be funny. My goal is to see at least one of my movies, primarilly that one, to achieve some sort of YouTube honor. Help me do that MoFo's by telling your friends about the vids and their home, www.matzarubaa.com. It'd be greatly appreciated! |

Re: My Movie Website
I've actually been given the opportunity to direct a film based off a script I wrote back in December for a film festival who's deadline is May 1st. Hopefully I'll have a cast ready and we'll film in April.
Wish me luck, MoFo's. I'll need it. |

Anywho, it's called Stereotypical Streotypes, and it's about a group of stereotypical nerds (Dungeons & Dragons players, to be exact) and how they cope with their isolated lives. It quickly focus' in on the main nerd, Eugene (again, the stereotypical nerd name) and how he wants to impress this girl and still manage to live life. In the end, he becomes a cult hero within the group and the school for making the oddest of discoveries. It's your streotypical high school film with all the stereotypes. But it's unique and funny in its own way, mainly because of the D&D element. I haven't seen that too much in film (other than that horrible film based off the game and the Tom Hanks story about an obsessed D&Der), and people who have already read the script are calling it funny and entertaining. Now, let's all pray for me that I can do it, eh? |
Re: My Movie Website
Here are 3 new movies that were just released today. You might want to click on them to read their full descriptions:
The Grand Tour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlQAPfwh6CQ Whoops. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtzWvRZp_ss Mustapha Mond Presents... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2MALmxPLZo Also, go here to check out another movie I made recently. I'm working on a new short project. It's experimental and Twilight Zone-esque. |
Re: My Movie Website

Re: My Movie Website
I just updated the site.
For a complete description on my movie Mustapha Mond Presents..., go here: http://www.matzarubaa.com/content/view/26/0/ Also, the films are now on the "Movie" section of the site, so that means you get good quality .wmv's with full screen. Although it might take a bit for it to load up, however I must add that I rarely hear anyone ever complain about the load time. I'm currently tweaking with some new ways to render the vids into MPEG-4's while retaining the same quality. All that pretty much said, what do you guys think? Do you like the vids? Should I quit now while I'm ahead? I must say, I hope to do an experimental film sometime this summer. Although not totally original, it does have a cool plot twist in it, and since its experimental, orginallity isn't a concern of mine. |
Re: My Movie Website
Here's the newst National Holiday movie for your enjoyment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eChykV9w1cc Hope you enjoy it. We're bringing the web series back slowly but surely, and we're always trying to develop new material for it. Tell me what you think, and please, show your friends. That'd be awesome (as usual, as I'm noticing a lot of you are doing that...). |
Re: My Movie Website
Scroll down a little on the home page, and you will discover a new add-on I... added-on today.
It's a map program that allows users such as yourself to click on the map and tell us where our viewers are from. It's a cool way to see how far word has spread on us. Slowly but surely, we're getting there. Don't forget to keep telling your friends. Also, vote on the polls. We like seeing which film's people are favoring over others. It helps us modify future films to your liking. |

I don't think he's being rude or anything. I get sound for it, too, so I don't think the problem is with the video.

That's called "advertising" They do that for me too; local girls wanting some "hot" action tonight. I guess it's a code that reads into your computer and find's your zip and generates the output of saying "MEET AUSSIE GIRLS TONIGHT!!!" Anywho, we're racking up the views, and the map clearly shows where people are watching from. Boy, this is good stuff for us. Talk about getting known. |

Re: My Movie Website
My site is getting a big overhaul in these next two weeks. We've updated the template to fit the new style we're going for, and this time, it's custom made and not another Mambo template like the one we were currently using. It's going to look very cool.
Also, we're going for a new style in film making. Since I'm now at film school, I'm surrounded by those who share the same interests as me. So I'm pre-production for a film I actually started writing back in the summer of 2005 that's more experimental than anything else, to show people the new things they'll be expecting from me as a filmmaker in the future. And here are two new logos for the website that gives you a clue as to what kind of style we're now going for: This next one is the logo for our comedy-only section for the website: I'll be sure to post when the new template and site is launched. |

Re: My Movie Website
Big update.
First, this video, as weird as it may be, gave us nine YouTube Honors, and we're already going about continuing it as a series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPtnxfWuB7Q Funny thing about that is that American Splendor star Toby Radloff actually wants to make his own version of Pomp Die Pedaal with us as executive producers/creative consultants. Is it ever going to go down? Nothing is set in stone yet, but exciting nonetheless that the offer was thrown out there. And now, two trailers for an upcoming film that's got ridiculous (yet entertaining) written all over it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGdDOEnpS-A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0gMba9vd6c Tell me what you guys think, and, as always, please show your friends. |

Re: My Movie Website
Just to let you all in the know, my work has been seen by some non-mainstream celebrities that I'm now friends with. Eric the Midget from the Howard Stern Show (I actually didn't show him my work, my partner did), Perry Caravello from the cult Comedy Central film Windy City Heat, and Toby Radloff from the Oscar-nominated picture American Splendor, who actually makes YouTube and [adult swim] videos. Toby wanted to film his own version of a series of movies we had made about a green sub-human who makes fetish films, but unfortunately with his contract agreements, he couldn't. But we're honored though that at least some thought was put into it, and we also liked the fact that we got YouTube Honors for our work as well.
I've decided to re-tool my vision as a filmmaker, and start doing some serious projects. Now that I'm in college, I can work with people around me who want to get into the same field of work that I want to get in. Taking some advice from friends, I decided to film an experimental film that brings in new elements from things that I've always wanted to convey to film, and to have an interpretation embedded in it somewhere. Here's the trailer for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEQMLqTdlyc Since the film is based in a suburb, it's actually based in the city of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. But I filmed it here in Ohio. Already this is a tl;dr - to explain why it's based in Woonsocket would have to be a whole seperate post altogether. But I did decide to have some fun with this, so I joined the Facebook group called "You Know You're From Woonsocket When..." that has 400+ members, and uploaded the trailer to their video section (it's the only video on there now, so they're bound to see it). Here's the description I gave it: Hey guys. I'm a filmmaker from a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, and I wanted to make a film about the darker sides of the suburbs. You know, the things that we always don't see after our neighbors mow their lawns or walk their dogs. And what better to make a movie based on your town, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, a place in which I virtually have no knowledge of whatsoever? Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. This film's pretty much perfect. No bums are in it (unlike the other movie that was based in your city), and be sure to look out for any "You know you're from Woonsocket when..." references! This film's got 'em! I think you'll all agree with me that your town was shot and portrayed pretty accurately once I upload the film itself around Halloween time. For now, enjoy the trailer, which I feel is a damn good one. If you know 4chan, then you'll know what meme I copied and pasted some of into the description. The "bums" reference is actually referring to a documentary film called Lost in Woonsocket, which was about two bums who go out and re-discover their families. I hope my message and film causes controversy in the the group. To even make it even more funnier, I sent the exact same message and YouTube link, only edited to minus "damn" and to give some more information as to who I am, to the Mayor of the city. While I respected who she was and sent my message in a respectful manner (I'm not out to pick a fight with this city, by the way. Just having some fun with it all.), I still kept the lines "Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. This film's pretty much perfect." though. That's it for now, I'll keep everyone updated. |
