Beats me... :p |
Aside from the name- anyone think this film looks good ?
I have yet to see a film with Samual L Jackson in it I didnt like. |
from the quote? GREAT film! :D
|
It seems like Sam will be in anything now. I think Don Cheadle has officially taken his crown as the coolest actor. George Clooney is a close second, but Don is Don.
|
Jackson took the lead in this movie without reading the script. He took it based on the name alone.
I'm getting an Eight Legged Freaks feel here, but with snakes.....on a plane. |
And there ain't a GOT-DAMN thing you can do about it!
|
Another name and this movie could do double at the Box Office what it will do.. Oh well.
|
There is going to be a movie called Snakes On A Plane about snakes boarding an airplane and, I guess, causing a commotion, killing people, hissing, slithering around seats, eating peanuts (and people), and possibly joining the mile high club?
I'm all for it! ;) |
The fact that this film is called Snakes on a Plane, and is unabashedly a B-Movie, that it makes NO attempt to pretend it's anything more than it is, makes me want to see it. Looks better than Eight Legged Freaks, too, and I liked Eight Legged Freaks. This could be the next Tremors (if you ignore the crap sequels, Tremors was a brilliantly funny B-Movie.)
|
The idea of snakes on a plane is very scary, considering I'm scared of both. But if I'm not on the plane with the snakes - hilarious!
|
Samuel L Jackson said he signed up just because of the title. Been so much interest that it's been said they want to increase the amount of gore and snakes.
It's sure to be a cult film of the future. |
I have seen a small homemade add for this film, and I must say that I expect to drop my jaw laughing if nothing else...
The words went a little something like this-"We got M***** F***ing snakes, on a plane...B**ch!!!!"-Samuel L. Jackson please note the dramatic pause between snakes and plane. |
Wait, I thought the wacky zany scary movie that's the next Tremors that's coming out soon was Slither? What did I miss??
|
Isn't Kenan Thompson in this movie?
|
The trailer's up.
This is so genius it makes my face want to explode. Apparently they spent 5 days reshooting to add more gore, death, nudity, and, of course, more snakes. Also, after the phrase "we've got to get the motherf**kin' snakes off the motherf**kin' plane!" was suggested (nay, demanded) by fans, the studio did, in fact, include it in the finished version in a fantastic nod to the cult status the film achieved on the strength of its title and star alone. Viral marketing, thy name is Snakes on a Plane. |

As long as the footage is real, it's good enough for me. And yeah, a couple of those snake shots look pretty cheesy.

Rats on a plane would be better

Okay, confirmation: Some of those trailers are FAKE (but darn good!):
----------- By ERIN CARLSON NEW YORK (AP) - The buzz - or hiss - began with the movie's title, a plot-spoiling punch line that rapidly evolved into an Internet phenomenon: Production stills were posted on the Web, followed by mock movie trailers and posters, R-rated audio clips, silly songs, poems, even a line of T-shirts. "Snakes on a Plane" arrives in theaters Aug. 18, but is already a cult blockbuster for fans who snicker at its B-movie premise. The thriller stars Jackson as an FBI agent protecting a witness on a jet full of lethal serpents unleashed by the mob. Brian Finkelstein, the 26-year-old creator of the fan Web site Snakesonablog.com, said the daffy title is what galvanized people to spoof the movie even before the New Line Cinema production finished filming. "It all came exclusively out of the title, and how honest and straightforward and clear the title was. There was no metaphor, no symbolism. Everything you needed to know about the movie was right there in the title," said Finkelstein, whose site has received an estimated 300,000 hits since its January debut. The title made for an easy crossover into the pop-culture vernacular. The slang Web site UrbanDictionary.com has eight ways to define the phrase, including: "A simple existential observation that has the same meaning as 'Whaddya gonna do?' or '(Stuff) Happens.'" But leave it to merry Internet pranksters to drop an unprintable profanity - twice. In a popular audio trailer crafted by 19-year-old Chris Rohan of Bethesda, Md., a smack-talking Jackson imitator yells: "I want these (expletive) snakes off the (expletive) plane!" Rohan said the title "sounds stupid, but that's what makes it brilliant" - thus inspiring him to write and record the trailer while enlisting a friend to voice rough-and-tumble Jackson. In another send-up, a video clip presents impersonations of Christopher Walken and Jack Nicholson. "There are snakes," complains a faux Nicholson, with Joker-like exaggeration. "On the plane. And they're biting. And they're scaring people." Yet another video follows a 4-year-old as he flies a paper airplane smothered with rubber snakes. Guided by the boy's hand, a plastic figurine kicks them off. In a making-of featurette, the boy says sound effects - "making loud noises" - were most challenging. Posted on Finkelstein's site, a fan-made love duet titled "Two Snakes on a Plane" includes the lyrics: "We could spend our lives together like two snakes on a plane/Shed our skins and wrap each other in all that still remains." The snake hoopla comes at a time where there's a vast audience downloading and sharing satirical spoofs of all genres, such as widely circulated mock trailers of "The Shining" and a "Titanic" sequel, titled "Titanic: Two the Surface." New Line recently requested that the movie's PG-13 rating be switched to R and ordered the shooting of additional scenes, including one with Jackson spouting an expletive like in Rohan's trailer. "More power to that," Rohan said. "I love just hearing Samuel L. Jackson blurt out the F-word every five seconds." |
Is my computer just crap, or is the trailer only noise?
|
Your computer is just crap.
But just imagine really bad CGI and you'll probably be fairly close to what the unofficial trailer looks like. |
You know I think this movie will be so bad it'll be good. Come on, it's called "Snakes...on a plane!"
|
Sequels I can already imagine:
Giant Squids on a Train Maggots at a Circus MOFO's at the Oscars Im hoping for a bit part in the last one.:) |
Oh, this could get interesting:
"Dung Beetles in a Honda Civic" "Great White Sharks on Space Mountain" I think I'm going to have nightmares. |
you know what i love most about this trailer? my favorite, favorite scene?
the snakes careening into the camera on a serving cart, the very, very end shot before it cuts out. i can't stop laughing ... cuz they made it like, all intense ... but the true danger is the cart, not the snakes ... oh my god.*pant* ... i liked that article ... what if we take that kid with his rubber snakes on the paper plane and have them careen into the camera with real sound affects? just awesome ... man ... nooo, nooo, you've got to have the creature make slightly no sense, but also be dangerous, and the location they appear in needs to be mundane. otherwise, there's no ... bite. "Killer Bees in a Convention Center" "Pythons on a Canoe" "Hyenas on a Bus" etc. |
My favorite part is Shaft shooting a snake in the face from half a foot away. Such brilliant overkill.

My favourite part was the guy looking for his breathing mask and it's a snake. "Safety my butt!"

Snakes On A Plane Movie Poster
|
Hey hey JRS, good to see you back!
|
That really looks more like "Snakes Around A Plane" to me.
*koff* |
i am craaaacking up ...
i know, honda civics are mundane, but it's too small, we need something slightly more grandiose than a 2-4 seater ... |
This is going to be the Best Film Ever.
|
Okay, couple things. Anyone else notice in the trailer than Samuel's speech is EXACTLY the same as the one in "Deep Blue Sea"?
I'm also thinking for this film that there'll be some big ass anaconda he'll have to fight at the end. |
this movie will be good to watch ten years from know when i stumble in from the bars and catch it on the late night usa network.
ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOS ANYBODY |

WARNING: "Deep Blue Sea" spoilers below
Maybe a couple of big ass anacondas go chomp chomp on him too just like the sharks did 'during' his similar pumped up speach in Deep Blue Sea. :D

I don't know I just think it's hilarious.
|
I saw the preview for this when I saw X-men 3.... How stupid can a movie be? I don't know what they were thinking with this one...

People were making fun of it on blogs with photos of the film , way before it was even in the headlines. |

I am wondering what others think about this:
Are most "good" or maybe I should say "popular" cult movies meant to be cult films? IMO I think a good cult film is not meant to be such when it is first released. This movie seems to be made for cultdom. Not sure if thats good or bad, although I am looking forward to it. |
Forget Snakes on a Plane, my money is going to Baby in a Blender aka Colic

I'll admit, i only know about it from your site but that trailer is insanely cool. Did the rounds with it on MySpace, got a lot of errr, happy fans :D

Snakes on a Plane French One-Sheet
|
The movie looks like an old horror movie like The Attack of the killer tomatos or Arachnophobia and its going to be interesting to see something like that in 2007
|
hm...I almost feel as if it were a comedy.
|
I'll be on here right after I see it Friday with a review, so look out for it. I don't know if I'm gonna like it or not. I am mostly just going to see it because of the title and Samuel.
