Sin City 2 and 3
what does everyone think of Robert Rodriguez doing this?
|
No.
|
Sin City was a masterpiece. I dont hink it should be touched
|
There are enough stories already inked over the years by Frank that they could conceivably do a second feature. SIN CITY has done good business (already made back nearly twice the pre-advertising budget in U.S. boxoffice alone), and will do even better on DVD, so I'm sure from a financial standpoint it's something Dimension would put up money for. Whether or not Miller & Rodriguez want to do another one, time will tell.

Jackpot. WU WHO!!!!!!!!!
|
[b]Umm All I gotta say lol is Sin City Was a great Movie!!!!
|
Just read my first Sin City graphic novel, A Dame To Kill For. Loved it! I hope they make it in either part 2 or 3.
But after reading it, I now have a problem with the movie. Why is Dwight in the bar when Marv walks in all taped up? Shouldn't he be in Old Town? I know I'm being a little nit-picky here, but if they do make A Dame To Kill For, they won't be able to link it in with The Hard Goodbye like they did in the book, because it wouldn't make sense. Was Dwight in the bar in The Hard Goodbye graphic novel? I hope he wasn't.

Cheers, Seds.

They won't even quite be sequels as much as continuations. I know by definition that's what a sequel is, but all these stories were there way before the movies so it's just that they need more time to tell them that they didn't have for this one feature.
|
Anyone have any actors they'd like to see cast for characters who weren't in the first flick?
How about Uma Thurman as Ava? She's got the big eyes, the big lips, and tends to over-act a little too. |
As long as Miller and Rodriguez are involved, hell yes I want sequels. Rodriguez and Rouke have already stated that Marv could be in any potential sequel, obviously that would mean the story involving Marv would have to be a prequel. Not knowing the comics does that make sense to anyone, and if so what stories does Marv appear in before the film adaptation?
|
As far as i know, aside from the first series, "The Hard Goodbye," Marv only appears as a cameo in overlapping stories. He does not take the lead role in any others.
|
Marv has a few good brawls in A Dame To Kill For.
|
Robert Rodrigues best stay away from sin city, hes gona get decapitated
|
I hear they are going to cast another actor for the pre-surgical Dwight in A Dame to Kill For (rather than use prosthetics on Clive), and that they're thinking of Angelina Jolie for Ava. She would be great, and my other nominee would be Demi Moore.
|
I'd rather see Clive Owne in prosthetics. That way, they'll be able to design pre-surgical Dwight exactly how he is in the comic.
Clive has sort of a unique voice when he puts on the accent anyway. |
Michael Madsen is supposed to have a bigger part in the second one, therefore I'm all for it.
|
Salma Hayek is going to be in the new one.
Also, i thought Madsen was the weakest part of Sin City, didn't think he acted well at all, normally i'm a huge fan of his, even Die Another Day. |
thx

They need to do Hell And Back as one of the sequels. I read somewhere that Johnny Depp would have starred in it if that was made as part of the first film. Him making more Pirates of the Carribean flicks bollixed that up though. maybe for Sin City 3 though?
|
I hope, Johnny was going to be made into Jackie Boy, but he lacks the bad ass attitude that Benicio had that made his role great. Johnny could play a different character though.
|
|
hope they wont have second thoughts about doing a sequel.
|
IF Depp is going to be in any sin city movie he'll be Wallace

He should just leave it alone.
|
I'd love to see more stories presented in the same unique flavor that we got a taste of in Sin City.
|
I sort of got a confirmation that for A Dame to Kill For they're looking at Angelina Jolie for Mrs. Lord and Johnny Depp as the pre-surgery Dwight. The other roles will be reprised by the actors from the first SIN CITY movie (Mickey Rourke as Marv, Rosario Dawson as Gail, Michael Clarke Duncan as Manute, etc.). And Clive Owen would be back as Dwight at the end of the story.
They look to start shooting by Spring '06. |

i'm pretty excited for 2 and 3. I just hope that they don't cop out and just go through the motions. Rodriguez and miller have to put the same degree of care and love into the sequels, or they'll just suck hardcore

Neither has been signed, it's just who they want. Dig?

man a Sin City 2 would be so awsome.the 1st one was awsome.i haven't read the comix so i would like to see a Dame to Kill For on the big screen:D.

sleezy, offend him all you want! you have my permission.
I have further confirmation that angelina jolie is the lead, with comments from rosario dawson, along with notations on her pregnancy and how that will delay shooting: http://www.hollywoodrag.com/index.ph...ovie_near_you/ Angelina Jolie is set to star in the sequel to 'Sin City'. The screen beauty - who is pregnant with lover Brad Pitt's baby - is reportedly being lined up to play the role of "A Dame To Kill" For in the second film. The actress will start shooting 'Sin City 2' after she gives birth later this year. Rosario Dawson, who is reprising her role as sexy hooker Gail, said: "The film's kind of been postponed because the director Robert Rodriguez has been interested in Angelina Jolie for the lead. "But she's very pregnant right now. So that's putting an understandable hold on the film." |
Rodrigez must have a real idea for the film if he's so set on waiting for Angelina Jolie to play the lead.

I think we can rest assured that they will do a good job with Sin City 2 and 3. Not long after Sin City 1 was released on DVD, and possibly before then, that already Rodriguez had plans for the second and even third enstallment of the series. In my opinon, him and Frank Miller have done an decent job bring the comic to screen with very very little cuts. It's something that I think is very rare to see when it comes to comic book adaptations.
Secondly, even if they do somehow to happen to screw up the story. I don't really care, I'm seeing it anyways. It just looks cool, and it's not often audiences get exposed to modern film noir with modern special effects. Finally, just as a question. Is he still doing everything greenscreen or are there going to be some changes. Set building? Anyone? |
the plan is/was to maintain the shooting style of the original (ie. greenscreen)
...update... Sin City 2 pushed back even further? I've read on numerous sites that with Frank Miller now screenwriting and directing "Will Eisner's The Spirit"...his interest and pursuit of a Sin City 2 has been decreased even more so than before |
My little Dark Horse birdie told me that Angelina Jolie has agreed to play Femme Fatale Ava, and that now they're trying to woo Brad Pitt to play the pre-surgery Dwight in A Dame to Kill For.

I really liked the first and so I'm definately looking forward to the 2nd, I'm not sure if a third may be a little too much
|
Re: Sin City 2 and 3
I'm definitely looking forward to the second and I think the third will probably decent, but I'm hoping that the cast will remain the same through all three of them.
|
Re: Sin City 2 and 3
I like the first movie but I am very doubtful for the other 2...I really hope they do it will but the track record of movie sequels is not great.

Whatever came of Depp playing a pre-surgical Dwight?
|
Re: Sin City 2 and 3
I was really disappointed when I had heard recently that Sin City sequels had been shelved for the time being, but hitting up IMDb this past week, I saw they start filming in June. Can't wait! :yup:

Nothing....that's a pile of rubbish. |
Major updates
Major updates from Industry Sources.....
Sin City 3 will center around the Hell and Back storyline, which focuses on a character named Wallace who is drugged and experiences hallucinations throughout the film. Rodriguez has stated no deals are in place but he's confident that Johnny Depp would take the part. Also look for Antonio Banderas in the film as well. As of now, his character is of yet TBA. |

Jaime King confirms Sin City 2 return
Sep 10, 2011 http://www.killerfilm.com/wp-content...ty-300x169.png With The Departed’s Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan tapped to write Sin City 2, actress Jaime King confirms she’ll return to the film – whenever the script gets completed and Robert Rodriguez gets off his ass to do it. “That’s what I’ve been told, yes“, on her return. “You know, one minute, Robert would be like, ‘Okay, we’re shooting in two months.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ll be ready.’ And then it goes for two years and two years and two years. It’s interesting, now, to see how it’s going to play,” she said. “I feel like what we did then was so revolutionary, so we’re really going to have to really step it up. But my understanding, it was kind of a melange of the original work of what Frank has done, but everything always comes from Frank, you know what I mean? So even if someone else is writing the physical script, it will always be Frank Miller’s ideas.” |
