Didn't know Akerman was dead. I remember hearing about a documentary she made unless i'm mixing her up with someone else. Only seen one from Denis so can't really comment. Even though i've only seen two from Arnold she has only directed four films or something so i think i know her a bit better. Red Road is fantasic IMO, it is set in my city in flats that my uncle used to stay in but i don't think i can be accused of bias because it isn't anything flattering and it isn't really an attempt to accurately portray Glaswegians, or portray them at all reallly. Fish Tank is alright too, my sister really loves it, could totally see certain people heavily relating to it.
