Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

I suggest floating the incomplete list as we go and leaving the complete one in the OP, so there no need drag an ever expanding list along, just whatever we have starting at the first incomplete link.

For example, if Swan and Daniel watch their movies than we can cut all the way up to Citizen Rules.

Omnizoa 09-07-16 11:10 PM

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

The list I posted also links Sci-Fi Slob and MonnoM's "reviews".

So skip the ones in green for the ongoing thread page?

Camo 09-07-16 11:12 PM

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

IMO. Just keep it the way Citizen posted it and everybody will keep contributing links to it.

Camo 09-07-16 11:13 PM

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

I will at least.

No, keep the entire list in the OP and trim all the green from the top as we go. My suggestion currently only means omitting this:

TONGO - Embrace Of The Serpent review

If Swan and Daniel watch their movies then we can green 'em out, add their links to the OP, and cut these:

MonnoM - Doomed Megalopolis (1991)
Omnizoa - Young Adult (2011) review
Tugg - Four Lions (2010) review
Camo - The Nanny (1965) review

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

It's gonna keep growing so the list is just going to get unwieldly to repost.

Shouldn't it be kept in the first post? Not sure why it needs to be reposted.

Camo 09-07-16 11:21 PM

I think any of us can direct whoever to the first post rather than reposting it every page, defeats the purpose IMO.

True. Alot of people dont read the OP, so I figured tote the list to the current page. If it becomes an unwieldy behemoth, Ill stop ;)

In fact Ill make this the last page I repost it.

Camo 09-07-16 11:25 PM

Cool. It's up to you guys. I just think it would be better keeping it in the first post. It can't become unwieldy there. If anyone wants to join and they don't get it i'm sure they'll ask.

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

What ever you do Tongo is OK with me too, but please update the first post from time to time. That's how we do it in the Hofs and stuff like that, the 1st post is the info post that gets updated. But it's all good:) And I'm watching my movie tonight! Samurai Rebellion

I SAID that.

The whole point of reposting is to reduce confusion. All of us can do it so we can stay updated even when TONGO's not online and the rules have been repeated enough times to warrant it.

TONGO 09-08-16 01:17 AM

Re: The Movie Forums Chain Challenge

Im afraid you guys are gonna overwhelm TONGOs technical prowess doing all these fancy Review link tricks, any ideas to come, but I want them. I do know how to cut n paste and I learned to color ;)

Bout 30 min into Howl, best line of the film so far from a train passenger "I want my money back!". Hoping the last hour delivers, but so far the setup is standard. The acting & productions competent, so Im still hopeful. :)

If you haven't seen it, I recommend Dark Waters

Give me time to pick someone.

Omnizoa if youd like to recreate a new chain thread for the forum to use, and be able to have access to the OP, please do so. All I ask is you name it the same as its not to promote anyone. MoFo Chain, or whatever, thanks :)

I know I've seen it, with its head contraptions, but, I don't remember much. What do the rules say? Does it have to be a movie you never ever saw before, or can it be one you practically forgot?

cricket 09-08-16 07:58 PM

I'll get something missing from your lists!

Should be a couple pages back in rate the last movie. I didn't think it was high quality but it was sick and I enjoyed it.

MonnoM can you edit your last post of the list, to make me green....as I watched my movie. Also here's a link to my review and maybe you can copy/paste that link into the list so it's updated. Thanks

I take it you're going hands-off for a bit?

re93animator 09-09-16 12:54 AM

Harakiri (1962)

Glad I finally got the incentive to watch this after putting it off for so long. I really like subtly paced movies like this, especially when tied to a straightforward and engaging story. I particularly loved how it was shot. Even with such a humble setting, those recurrent looming shots really make everything feel monumental. Those and some pretty absorbing discourses make for a great buildup.

TONGO 09-09-16 01:33 AM

The movie........has picked up :yup:

Hey guys, I've adopted this thread from TONGO. You can keep it going in here if you'd like, but I'll be keeping it updated over yonder.
