Raging Bull is MORE than "just" a sports movie, but it is most certainly that too. It's silly to discount it simply because it's a much deeper and more complex film than Mighty Ducks 3. It should be elevated because of this, not dismissed. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCom...bull/title.jpg |
Thank you, Holden.
My top 3 fav. sports movies thus: 1. Raging Bull 2. Mighty Ducks 2 3. Mighty Ducks 3 |
Million Dollar Baby: great acting, and a great story to be told.
Hoosiers: Too many classic lines/scenes to mention, so I'll mention one of the most quotable dialogue's in history "Measure that hoop from the floor"....."Same distance as the one back home." Miracle: Our greatest era in olympic history is told, that's all that needs to be said. |
1) Major League
2) Hoosiers 3) and sad but true Varsity Blues....thought it was better than expecting. |
1. Hoop Dreams
2. The Hustler 3. Predator (c'mon. C'MON. You know it might as well be a sports movie.) |

My favorite sport movies are:-
1) Major League (I think only TheLebowski is the only other guy in the forum who liked it) 2) Shaolin soccer (Stephen Chow) 3) Lagaan (You may not have heard of it, it is a film from india and also won an oscar for the best foreign language film) |
Like almost everyone else i want to put Raging Bull as a fav sports movie, but i refraine, and i will be different. ( not in any order of significance).
1. Breaking Away 2.Tin Cup 3.North Dallas Forty and a contender for top 3 ....caddyshack..lol |
Bend It Like Beckham
Miracle Seabiscuit |
1 Hoop Dreams
2 Raging Bull 3 either when We Were Kings or Shaolin Soccer- neither are anywhere near the masterpieces the first two are, but are both great to watch for differing reasons. |
