Apartment 143 is highly recommended. IMO it's slightly better than Paranormal Activity, very jumpy and leaves you with your hand in front of your eyes at most scenes. Defiantly worth a watch for horror fans like myself.

Straight away I'd strongly suggest Wind Chill, Insidious and The Awakening.

+Insidious is very creepy and full of genuine scares
+The Shining is a horror classic, and the scenes are extremely haunting.
+The Woman in Black is damn good and full of scares'
+some of the classic 80's horror films like Candyman,Hellraiser,Halloween are awesome.
