all right, going on a series rating spree (of what i've seen) http://oi62.tinypic.com/2hq42mr.jpg Halloween -------------------------- 10.0 / 10 Halloween 2 ------------------------ 6.0 / 10 Return of Michael Myers ------- 7.0 / 10 Revenge of Michael Myers ---- + 4.5 / 10 The Curse of Michael Myers ---- 5.0 / 10 Series Avg: 6.50 / 10 http://oi58.tinypic.com/wthybo.jpg Nightmare on Elm St --- 10.0 / 10 Freddy's Revenge ------- 7.0 / 10 Dream Warriors ---------- + 7.5 / 10 Dream Master ------------ 7.0 / 10 Dream Child -------------- 5.0 / 10 Freddy's Dead ----------- 6.0 / 10 New Nightmare ---------- 7.0 / 10 Series Avg: 7.07 / 10 http://oi60.tinypic.com/2qxaslh.jpg Scream ----- + 8.5 / 10 Scream 2 --- + 7.5 / 10 Scream 3 --- 5.0 / 10 Scre4m ----- 7.0 / 10 Avg Rating: 7.00 / 10 wouldn't have thought the numbers would come out to putting the Scream series ahead of Halloween, although i like Halloween's original better than the Scream films http://24.media.tumblr.com/4505c0095...0vkjo1_400.gif |
That's hilarious!
http://oi59.tinypic.com/10hvtdl.jpg http://24.media.tumblr.com/4505c0095...0vkjo1_400.gif It's almost as funny as your ratings. :p You better know I'm just messin' with you, Nostro! p.s. Did you ever take that hat off? |

You guys can always do another one:) You just need a host, maybe JJ? I bet people would join.
Could even be persuaded to host. Or co-host, since my hosting appears to be the kiss of death to some things. |
Re: Slasher Hall of Fame
This is my favorite Hall of Fame I've participated in. I think it has one of the more positive reputations among members than a lot of other HoF threads. Probably because it was a right time, right place, right group of people type of situation. Plus, Nostromo really raises the bar when he is all-in on something. Suspect and Cat, you guys would have been great additions to the fun.

Well figure you have at-least 4-6 because @pahaK and @Nostromo worst comes to worst you can do what we did in the comedy Hall and do double noms |

Credit to nostromo87 for the excellent video. Welcome to the Slasher Hall of Fame. I haven't been able to gather a massive following for this hall of fame, but you know, that's alright with me. I think the enthusiasm of the members we do have will make up for the lack of numbers, and while we only number six strong at the moment, I expect we might be able to pick up a couple stragglers along the way. I'd accept up to six more people, so join or die! Now for the already committed members, go ahead and send me your nominations. I'm ready to get this show on the road. For what is acceptable for nominations, I won't make the rules for what a slasher is. Each person might have their own definition, and I'll allow you to make your own distinction. Just use some sense when nominating, don't get crazy on us. The one thing that you can't nominate is Psycho. Not because I don't think it belongs in a slasher hall of fame, but because it is already in our hall of fame. It won the very first one. Nominees: Alice Sweet Alice (Alfred Sole, 1976) Nominated by Ðèstîñy http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LjmKqUUgC5..._poster_01.jpg Halloween (John Carpenter, 1978) Nominated by Swan http://www.panorama-cinema.com/V2/im...7/affiche1.jpg When I was thinking about what I would nominate, I was trying to decide if I should nominate Halloween - the quintessential and best slasher film to date - or go with something lesser-known. But when I pictured myself nominating something else, I felt like I was being a bit... blasphemous. Not only to the slasher genre, not only because it defines a slasher in every inkling of its being, but because it is one of those films that defines me, as a person. It has been there for my enjoyment for most of my life and has inspired me in many, many ways. It has influenced much of what I seek in cinema - effective simplicity, visceral horror, intelligence, passion, and overall, a good time. So it's a very personal nomination. On top of that, though, I simply think it deserves to win the first, maybe only, slasher hall of fame. Christmas Evil (Lewis Jackson, 1980) Nominated by jiraffejustin http://i.imgur.com/ZgOLP57.jpg Okay, so hear me out. This is like an art-slasher or something. It's by far the most surreal slasher I've ever seen, and I think it's a misunderstood movie that really needs to be reexamined by cinephiles. John Waters is the biggest fan of the movie, in terms of fame x vocal support. He calls it the greatest Christmas movie of all-time. I don't really know what to say, it's a bizarre movie. I hope everybody will at least appreciate it on some level, because there's nothing else like it. But most importantly, the main character looks like a combination of Bill Murray and Tommy Lee Jones. Dressed to Kill (Brian De Palma, 1980) Nominated by BlueLion http://image.cine21.com/resize/cine2...;S600,600].jpg Terror Train (Roger Spottiswoode, 1980) Nominated by cricket http://img11.nnm.me/d/2/0/c/3/1889a5...43fb235472.jpg I decided to go with a prototypical slasher from when I consider to be the golden age for these movies. It stars that era's scream queen and my all time favorite butterface, Jamie Lee Curtis. I think it's a movie that fits in perfectly with this Hall of Fame, and I think everyone will enjoy it. Happy Birthday to Me (J. Lee Thompson, 1981) Nominated by honeykid http://img2.mtime.com/mg/2009/27/784...0fdbf25c03.jpg A Nightmare on Elm Street (Wes Craven, 1984) Nominated by nostromo87 https://pp.vk.me/c621526/v621526997/...xnDmAoFRNk.jpg Jason X (Jim Isaac, 2001) Nominated by Sane http://www.dvd-forum.at/img/uploaded...7883527300.jpg Jeepers Creepers (Victor Salva, 2001) Nominated by Derek Vinyard http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yxH0XkbmPz...spot.com+1.jpg Hatchet (Adam Green, 2006) Nominated by MovieGal http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a1jr46t8t8...er1-733175.jpg I don't think I can do a second Hall of Fame but a heads up we've got Friday the 13th(September) and Halloween coming up might be time to do another one of these |
