Wow. Shame on IMDB.

Their worst: L.A. Confidential
Their best: The Shawshank Redemption

I'm not going to make up a list, but there are several that aren't on there that should have been:

A Beautiful Mind
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Being John Malkovich
Life is Beautiful

...and a bunch of others I'd mention if only I could think of more movies from the past 15 years.

(Oh, and in terms of overall film quality, I'd put Jackie Brownup there before Pulp Fiction, even though the latter made more noise.)

TheUsualSuspect 10-19-05 07:14 PM

BEST: Goodfellas

Worst: American Beauty

The usual suspects and Fight Club pwn every single one of your movies to the ground, except for City of God.

Just MY opinion.

Their Best: City of God
Their Worst: *tie* the goodfellas and pulp fiction.

The hate starts........ now.

Well, I believe the two are somewhat different.

First off, the fight club is mystery/suspense/somewhat noir. Trainspotting wasn't as funny to me as it was to some people, and the shock value did hit me, but I thought Go did it better.

And requiem for a dream is the drug movie to end all drug movies, cinematography beats a wall crawling baby any day.

Fight Club is just my style, and I love Palhniuk's Invisible Monsters and Survivor, so I just like the movie as well.

Sinny McGuffins 10-19-05 08:44 PM

Obi, Missy's list is pretty good in my opinion. But even if you don't think so, there's no need to just pick out her's and make a mockery out of it.

ObiWanShinobi 10-19-05 09:26 PM

It was a disagree/agree with smiley faces.

I also thought I would speak my mind about Suspects and Fight Club.

I don't hate, she is like the only one next to some admin pity who gave me some good rep.

Plus, her avvy is hot!

I don't hate her or her taste, just her selection of movies.

Here is my list so you can ridicule it:

15. Jackie Brown
14. Dogma
13. Spider
12. Million Dollar Baby
11. The Usual Suspects
10. Requiem for a Dream
9. Chicago
8. Mall Rats
7. L.A. Confidential
6. Grave of the FireFlies
5. Memento
4. The Passion of the Christ
3. Toy Story
2. Attack the Gas Station
1. City of God

There. Hate away! :)

This may disturb you but we have some of the same movies. A word about Requiem...one of the most depressing movies of all time. I love Jennifer but damn, that movie was depressing.

Passion of the Christ...I think you know my feeling about that one. Not into snuff films.

I haven't seen a few on your list but all in all, a good list IMO.

Agree, it was horribly sad. Especially the ending, beautiful in the worst way.

Jim Caviezel is legendary, and Mel Gibson deserves all the credit in the world for making a historically accurate film.

Thanks. Also, the movie you haven't seen is attack the gas station. See it, it's incredible, better than Strangelove, which was my number 1 favorite comedy until I saw Attack the Gas Station.
