Not yet.

I was considering really working on mine soon. I have more than enough to do it, but I will hold off until I have seen all of the movies in the HoF. That decision came to me when I realized that there were a few movies that I regretted when it came to the last two countdowns (either not on my list and that were on my list). I've even regretted some of the placements of those films.

I want to really try to be as solid as I can with my list this time. Hopefully no regrets with this one.

The problem for me is that I think this is such an incredibly strong decade for film that I think I may be just a little unhappy with whatever films I add on the list because there is always going to be another one that I want to include. I think I will doubt myself no matter what.

By the way, just as a little note of no real significance (but it kind of is :)), I updated the first post with the nominations from the current HoF and added them to the list.

Noir is your friend:cool:...so no need to be nervous, unless you meet a dangerous femme fatale who convinces you to knock off the local liquor store;)

I can't remember years of movies either, so I just Google it. Glad you sent in a list.....

I hope all us good MoFos are watching some 1940's movies and sending in a list of their 25 favorites (details are on the 1st post of this thread):p

Ok, I was debating it, but I'll start getting at least a couple of 40's movies in every week to contribute to the list.

I know what'll be locked in for #1 no doubt already, though. :p

Casablanca and citizen Kane have to be up there least in the top 5

Those are locks for sure. Double Indemnity will be up there too.

Well, I meant mine personally, but oh yeah, absolutely. :p

I know some people think old movies aren't for them...sure they are! They just haven't watched the right ones yet!

In the decade of the 1940's, there's plenty of:
full color movies, glorious B&W too, great westerns, thrillers, crime noir, who done it mysteries, drama, romance and of course comedy and more!

Almost any type of movie that you like to watch today was also made in the 40s.

The best way to get into old movies, is to look for genres or subject matter that you are already interested in. So what are you guys interested in? Post it and I or someone else can make a recommendation:)

You mean Stag Films;)...I think that's what they called it back then.

Ok, I think we can perhaps mark that request as answered :D

I just assumed that Casablanca and Citizen Kane would be in the top 5 (unless there is some major surprise, of course), but I don't know if Double Indemnity will be in top 5. I thought it would be top 10, but not top 5. I, of course, am basing it on films that I think deserve a top 5 position more than that one (and there are a few), but I will probably be wrong in the end.

Are you guys going to send in a list for the countdown?

Time's a ticking;) but there's still 3 months left until the deadline on, Sept 3rd, to get those list in! (details on 1st post)

I know that the long time MoFos will participate, but how about you newer people? You're MoFo's too:) and this is a BIG community board wide thing, it's what we do here!

So show your MoFo spirit and make sure to get your list in, but first watch some 1940s movies:p

Citizen Kane #1
Casablanca #2
I'm pretty sure It's a lock

I think it could very easily be the opposite.

I was looking over the films that I have on a couple of lists. The last two lists consist of 106 films, which were then narrowed down to 61. Now when I look at the list of 106, I see movies that I don't want to take off of it.

I knew this was going to be hard, but I really didn't think I would have this much of a problem with it.
