jonlix 10-20-04 10:36 PM

Last Dvd i bought was Clerks X. One of the best movies i've ever seen. I dont hav the original DVD, and it was like 15 bucks so i bought it.

badjessejames 10-31-04 06:31 AM

I bought U-TURN......

I laugh my ass off everytime Toby N. Tucker is on screen...and no matter how bad of a day/week you're having Sean Penn's character's is far worse.

projectMayhem 10-31-04 08:41 AM

Last DVD I bought was Francis Ford Coppola's Dementia 13. Best Buy had a gazillion of these little cheaply produced discs with just the movie on it. "1 movie on 1 disc for $1".

James_Sparrow 10-31-04 01:37 PM

Last DvDs I bought were:
Unbreakable 2 Disc
There's Something More About Mary
That 70's Show season 1

The Suicide Kings

because of Christopher Walken

gothamboy 11-08-04 12:34 AM

Arrested Development: Season One - Cuz it's even funnier than the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series.

Ren and Stimpy: Seasons One and Two - Do I really need to explain why??

Dawn of the Dead (2004) - Saw it in the theaters and liked it a lot, and I buy basically every horror movie that I like or that I think I'll like. Why? Cuz I'm an idiot, that's why.

James_Sparrow 11-08-04 01:25 PM

I Just got

Once Upon A Time In Mexico
Coffee And Cigerettes
Peter Pan
Chasing Amy: Criterion Collection
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
and
The Ed Wood Box (Comes with 5 of his movies and 2 documenteries)

Charismasloverno5 11-09-04 09:29 AM

last DVD i bought was Donnie Darko, was a great film, pity it wasn't as recognized at the cinema as it was on DVD.

Well, the recognition came late, and they re-released it to a wider distribution this past summer. R. Kelly also got to re-cut the film to better represent his vision. I haven't had a chance to see the extended cut yet.

Last one for me: Bringing Out the Dead

Why: Because Scorsese is a god among directors.

OG- 11-19-04 06:08 PM

I actually haven't gotten new DVDs for a couple weeks, which is a very rare thing for me, trying to save money is annoying. The last two I picked up were The Fog and In The Mouth of Madness.

Charismasloverno5 11-19-04 06:29 PM

I know what you mean, I gotta start savin for xmas presents, damn, have to go a couple of weeks without a new DVD, how will i live?

soulsolid 11-19-04 09:02 PM

The last dvd I parsed out the loot for was Bridget Jones's Diary that was re-released this month because it's packin' more extras than the copy Wifey had and she wanted to get down with the remix (and because I got love for Wifey like that!!!).

gothamboy 11-19-04 11:58 PM

Wednesday, November 17th:

1) Kids in the Hall - Season 2
2) Elf - Infinifilm Edition
3) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

kenny 11-20-04 06:28 AM

last three i bought were :"dead man", "Plan 9 from outer space", "muppet treasure island"

Charismasloverno5 11-20-04 07:23 AM

God, you people in the us get loads of editions.

In the UK, we get a single disc version and a special edition. That's it, cept for Lord of the Rings.

projectMayhem 11-20-04 10:59 AM

South Park: The Complete First Season for $5 at a garage sale. Oh Yeah!!!

Charismasloverno5 11-20-04 03:56 PM

meh, I've grown wary of South Park and have gotten over that little phase that everyone seemed to have.

Braveheart_1298 11-21-04 08:01 AM

The last film I purchased was HP and the prisoner of askaban, I really only bought this film to add to the HP collection as I thought it was the worst of the three films so far, even though it was the best of the 5 books

Charismasloverno5 11-21-04 08:10 AM

I'm not a Harry Potter fan, shame really, people say the films are good, ut when I try to watch them i get so bored......

Braveheart_1298 11-21-04 08:15 AM

lol, the HP films are just not everyones cup of tea, c i enjoy them because I read the books before the films were released, so I kinda, being a fan of the novels, had to watch the films, maybe just out of curiosity

Charismasloverno5 11-21-04 08:30 AM

that would probably be the motive of fans of LOTR to see if they could pull it off.

The Sarge 11-21-04 05:33 PM

Bad Santa (R1 unrated badder version) because the cinema trailer over here in the UK cracked me up so i bought it on a gamble...... a gamble that ultimateley paid off cuz' the movie rules! (imo)

Chronicles Of Riddick (R1 unrated directors cut) because i love action shooty blowy things up movies, and this film does it for me.

Slacker (d. Richard Linklater - 1991)

I'd fallen in love with Linklater's Waking Life, and was very interested in seeing his first film, which had a very interesting style of plot. I thought the film was quite good, but now thinking about it, should of bought a better film from the Criterion Collection. Not that I'm dissapointed with my choice of purchase, just thought I could've done better and bought something of Fellini or Kurosawa.

PimpDaShizzle V2.0 11-22-04 04:36 AM

A Clockwork Orange and Dracula.

I bought A Clockwork Orange because sometimes I like to watch a masterpiece that makes you think and allows room for interpretation.

I bought Dracula because I had forgotten Mr. Coppola directed it, and when I saw his name I got excited and grabbed it. He will always have my respect for taking care of Apocalypse Now, but lately... lets just say I've heard tings'.

1) Mean Girls - Cuz Lindsay Lohan's hot and I love her 2 friends. ;)
2) Stir of Echoes (Special Edition) - Thought it was a cool movie and I'm a Kevin Bacon fan.

Friends season 8, because i am collecting the box sets. I now have 1-8. Yipee Hurray!!

Blister 12-04-04 10:55 AM

Clerks X, why you say, because I'm a Kevin Smith fan, and Clerks X hasn't got an R2 release date yet, so I decided I wasn't gonna wait any longer.

gummo 12-06-04 12:17 AM

The last DVD I bought was The Golden Girls season one box set. I love those girls, they are hilarious. I bought it for my own pleasure.

Streetrat 12-11-04 04:36 PM

I just recently purchased the DVD of "Missing Brendan." This is by far one of the better films I have purchased in a very long time. In short, this picture is about a missing soldier from the Vietnam War whose family goes looking for him and they run into all different sorts of obstacles. This movie co-stars Adam Brody of The OC ("Seth") and really is a great film. I would strongly suggest purchasing this DVD. For more information about the film, as well as to view the trailer, visit www.missingbrendan.com. If you have seen this film, or go and purchase it, come back and let me know what you think, because I think this movie is really outstanding.

PimpDaShizzle V2.0 12-11-04 11:41 PM

Lost in Translation & Memento

Lost in Translation because it has "Bill F*ckin' Murray" (quote from Coffee and Cigarettes) and I think he's a funny man. I haven't seen it yet, but what the hell you know, if it sucks I have a new coaster. That's what we call a win-win situation.

Memento, um, I remember it being alright, I think. I'm always thinking Skeletor when the main character's on camera though.

Captain_Black 12-15-04 01:20 PM

Scarface was the last DVD i bought, think this is an excellent movie. Al Pacino always does an excellent job of acting in movies like this. To me this movie is simply a master piece.

The Untouchables - Thsi movie is hands down one of the greatest gangsters flicks I've come across. Originality and Costner just rules

Lock, Stock, and Two Smokings Barrels - This movie is amazing. It's clever, funny, and I love Brits. Guy Ritchie needs to make more of these.

Oceans 11 - It's just spectacular. Amazing cast. Awesome dialogue. Superb Acting.

Donnie Brasco - God, Depp and Pacino just took this movie and dragged it through a fairy world and made it great. Most of it was on Depp's behalf, who just played his characterS amazingly.

The Usual Suspects - Wow. This movie left me wowed at the end. Amazing acting, great story telling, and it had me fooled.

This is my favorite TV show of all time, even at age 16. I brought this into drama club along with my portable DVD player, and a whole bunch of us watched it. I was quite surprised that people my age knew about it! Anywho, not only was it ahead of its time when it first came out with great stories and story telling, The Twilight Zone is probably the only thing that I can sit down and enjoy watching, as compared to watching a film by Spielberg, Lucas, Romero and Zemeckis who make me want to go out and make movies just like them, and even Seinfeld who makes me wish that I could do comedy like him. The Twilight Zone is just that one show where I could just relax and enjoy Rod Serling's amazing way of storytelling. No wishing... no jealousy... just pure enjoyment and entertainment. And sometimes, scary.

EDIT: This reguarly costs $120, simply because a book is included. I got it on sale, 25% off at FYE. I think it was like, $89 I'm gonna say...?
