08-11-09Hey, if I look at my lists on the tab which accompanies every post I make it says I've seen 79% of the Best Picture Winners, but if I click on that list and go to the list's page it says I've only seen 77%. I added it up and the 77% one is right, thought I'd let ya know.

08-08-09Perhaps I'm being too critical simply because it won Best Picture, is on three of our lists, and in the end I didn't find it all too special. As for the sequence, I agree certain films contain similar sequences for the fact they're beautiful, but for me this one didn't connect. And keep in mind I didn't hate the film, loved the art direction and the performances were good. I guess in the end I expected to be uplifted, as one usually is with these kinds of movies, and I wasn't. I like your Lewis reference though, I need to read more of his work.

08-08-09And although I realize it is based on a true story, which true stories should we adapt, which are worthy, I had a pretty good idea how it was going to end and it seemed like one big cliche. I guess life can be that way sometimes.
(had to add this, can only post up to 1000 characters here I guess)
