With all these remakes coming out and a lot of them being inferior the original, sometimes I feel that the owner of the original movie sold out for money, so to speak.

The Producers is the film version of the Mel Brooks Broadway musical that won 11 Tony Awards, which was the musical version of the 1968 film that won Brooks his only Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay (everybody got that?).

I had seen the original production on Broadway, and Susan Stroman managed to transfer all that fun right back to the big screen...with plenty of little changes as it was re-adapted for the cinema.
