Sergeant Todd is a veteran soldier for an elite group of the armed forces. After being defeated by a new breed of genetically engineered soldiers, he is dumped on a waste planet and left for dead. He soon interacts with a group of crash survivors who lead out a peaceful existence. The peace is broken as the new soldiers land on the planet to eliminate the colony, which Sergeant Todd must defend.

Todd (Kurt Russell) is the best of the best of these soldiers, but when a military leader (Jason Isaacs) introduces a new generation of super-soldiers, Todd finds himself discarded like trash on a random planet.

At least the van Damme film was redeemed somewhat by the most recent pair of sequels that actually built on the wasted potential of the original - Soldier, on the other hand, gets no such luck and must live and die as a film that, much like its protagonist, seems to live only for utilitarian acts of....

The new wave of super soldiers is stronger, faster, and more durable, but lacks the jaw muscles of someone who looks like they're storing nuts for winter.
