Davis in particular was rather impressive and now I feel like I should check out The Iron Lady just to see what kind of performance Davis lost an Oscar to, while Spencer definitely earns her Oscar win as a more tempestuous worker who can amaze those in her good books and devastate those in her bad b....

Despite me finding this to be merely a good film as opposed to a great one, I am not at all surprised by the huge dent it made at the US box office, the numerous awards and nominations it garnered or the high praise from many US critics which heralded the film's arrival on UK shores.
Citizen Rules
Even odder is the high acclaim this film has garnered, which is too high of praise for a film that borders on being an exploitation film...The film neither serves it dramatic side, the serious issues of 1960's segregation & bigotry in the deep south...nor does it embrace it's comic tendencies.
