About: In a poor section of Pittsburgh during the late 1950's, a working class black man, Troy (Denzel Washington) who's lived a hard life and so becomes a 'hard man'....tries to do his best, for his family.

The themes and values of this film are actually very hard to understand, and that is where I think this is more of a "play" than a film.

Troy makes it clear that he is the king of the castle because he pays the bills and that no one else in the house has any kind of right or say in anything because he pays the bills and we understand the kind of person Troy is to a point, but a major revelation about Troy's life occurs halfway throug....
