Have you ever seen a film that has great set pieces, an interesting story, a large talented cast of actors having a good time with an extremely talented director behind the lens, just to have the film be a total misfire.

While pretty much every film that the Coens make is informed by their senses of humour to some degree or another, in my experience I've found that their more directly comedic films tend to be ones that I respond to less (as of writing, I count Intolerable Cruelty as my least favourite film of theirs....

If you went to this film to see a mystery kidnap thriller, you would be disappointed because that is not what this film is about.
