As mentioned before, Craig seems to be sleepwalking through the performance here, so him mentioning his utter hatred in performing the character makes sense.

This much is represented in the film by a smug executive (Andrew Scott) whose plan to launch an all-encompassing surveillance network will supposedly render field agents like Bond obsolete, while the film does pay some more lip-service to criticism by having characters straight-up ask Bond just why ....

Ralph Fiennes plays M, Bonds boss as well as the minor character needs to be played, as does Ben Wishaw as Q, Bonds geeky friend in the agency, who sticks with Bond when hes out of the loop on his rogue missions.
