The film does touch upon themes involving family, post-war anxieties, and religious subtext as it examines what the characters' lives are like even without any imminent peril; while these concepts are generally handled in a satisfactory manner, sometimes they do drag the film down (such as the entir....

Amenabar's story displays influence from horror classics from the 60's like The Innocents and The Haunting, but puts his own stamp on the story through the very methodical unfolding of the story through the use of subtle plot elements, some of which offer major clues to what's going and others that ....
