Del Toro along with Mark Gustafson(Animation director for Fantastic Mr. Fox)
will be directing a darker and more "intense" version of Pinocchio apparantly.

One night, a wandering cricket named Jiminy (voice of Cliff Edwards) stops at Geppetto's house to try to keep warm and witnesses the man wish upon the wishing star for Pinocchio to become a real boy.

All of that aside, Pinocchio isn't just one of the greatest Disney movies ever, but also one of the best animated movies ever, and if you somehow haven't seen it by now, watch it.
