High school hotshot Zach Siler is the envy of his peers. But his popularity declines sharply when his cheerleader girlfriend, Taylor, leaves him for sleazy reality-television star Brock Hudson. Desperate to revive his fading reputation, Siler agrees to a seemingly impossible challenge. He has six weeks to gain the trust of nerdy outcast Laney Boggs -- and help her to become the school's next prom queen.

I feel like Not Another Teen Movie did a pretty good job at summarizing how ridiculous this movie is, but it is a 90's teen rom-com and I grew up in the 90's so there is a part of me that refuses to think this movie is completely terrible.

The film became such a gold standard for teen rom-coms, that, two years later, its story was the basis for 2001's Not Another Teen Movie , an on target spoof of the genre, which was also filmed at the same school where this movie was filmed.
