My theory on parallel universes? If we exist in one universe, then how can we exist in another? The answer? If we exist here, then parallel of existance is non-existance. Wouldn't that be the most logical theory on them? Here, yes. There? No.

I think my nose is bleeding.

We're probably not supposed to be talking about this.

MovieMaker, if you're interested in parallel universes, then THIS (http://fusionanomaly.net/multiverse.html) should prove to be very interesting for you. It deals with the multiverse, quantum mechanics, and other things too difficult for my small brain to comprehend. Michael Crichton's novel Timeline is good too.

Personally, I don't believe any of that crap.

Every time someone mentions the idea of parallel universes, i think of the crappy sequel to a decent film (Cube). the original wasn't bad, but the sequel was pretty damn stupid.

Put me down as a believer in parallel universes, because apparently we're in one.

Ah, but are we in the parallel universe or the normal universe that is being duplicated by a separate parallel universe unbeknownst to our puny little minds?... :dizzy:

The "lines" between the three parallel universes lies between your self percieved image of yourself, your self percieved image of someone else, and your self percieved image of the "worlds" view of you.

Breakdown:
"Universe" 1: How I see myself.
"Universe" 2: How I see you.
"Universe" 3: How I think people see me.

Take the three "universes" (mental states) everybody has and multiply it by the number of people alive in the world and that's how many universes we have. We pretty much exsist in them all.

I just B-S'd all dat'. BOOYA!
They (MoFo's) think I'm a genius!
Man he (DaShiz) is, DaShiz! BOOYA!

The answer is, Yes. You are now dumber after reading that. :D

Yet another topic where the one true answer lies in a comic book.

I am a firm believer in Parallel Universes for several reasons, which I may or may not get into.

The topic, however, was "Can They Exist?". One good way of looking at this is the question of what the universe is; Do you believe the universe is finite (ending its reach at some point) or do you believe the universe is infinite (destroying all boundaries as it expands into eternity)? If you believe it is finite, you're belief of parallel universes is somewhat limited to the laws of the universe, but...

If the universe is infinite then that means that if something is possible then it has to happen somewhere in the universe. In some far flung area of the universe your wildest fantasys are coming true right now.

In softer terms: think of the universe as an infinite market in a downtown metropolis. If there is something you wanna buy, if you walk far enough you'll find someone somewhere that is selling it. Hell, walk even farther and you'll find someone somewhere giving it away for free.

Here is something for you to ponder. I read a while ago about the stastical probability that we "live" in something similar to The Matrix. It is inevitable that humans will create a level of virtual reality that is indistinguishable from reality. When this happens people will begin to create simulations of modern life etc. Just rent The Thirteenth Floor and you get the gist. The paper went on to propose that the chances are monumentally small that the world we are in right now is the original world in which the simulations are first created. Basically, statistically, we're all simulations.

I buy into the logic of it all, but I also subscribe to the universal theory that I am a rather lucky individual so I don't actually think the above theory applies to us because I'm lucky enough to be in the original world. So, no worries, you're all safe :)

Feel free to express your own theories as well, which you did.
