I would like to recommend a swedish band called Logh. All you fans of melancholic, artistic, post-rock.. (or something) should check this out. I have always liked them but I saw them play yesterday and they were fantastic. I know they are touring Europe now but I know they will go to US and Japan after that so if you get the chance to see them, you should.

Here's (http://www.logh.se/default.asp) a link to their homepage.

Yikes! A definate early NewOrder vibe going on there.

Which can't be a bad thing. :)

New Order? Hmm... Yeah, you're absolutely right when it comes to those songs you can listen to on the homepage. I sometimes think of Depeche Mode but without choruses and obvious pop melodies. They're a four piece band but on stage they have an extra guitarist and a piano/keyboard player. Large and rich sound and they're all fantastic musicians without being Toto, if you know what I mean.

I like the sound of a few of the ones I got off the site. What are your favorite songs Pidz? Just so I can see their best rather than checking out their worst :p

I've heard some songs with them in the past but there are only two that I've heard enough times that I could recognize them when I saw the band live. And those two brilliant songs are on the site: "The Contractor and the Assassin" and "Yellow Light Means Slow Down, Not Speed Up". I heard several other great songs at the show though, I guess from all three of their cd:s. But their latest cd, "A Sunset Panorama" (2005, Bad Taste Records), that was released only a couple of days ago has recieved fantastic reviews here in Sweden, so start with that one. I have listened to some of it and it sounds great and I'm guessing that's the one that's closest to their live sound - basically because it's recorded live in studio. I think that "The Contractor and the Assassin" is from the cd "The Raging Sun" (2003, Bad Taste Records) and "Yellow Light Means Slow Down, Not Speed Up" is from their debut "Every Time a Bell Rings, an Agel Gets His Wings" (2002, Bad Taste Records). Those songs are representative in a way for some of their material, but they have a lot of not as easily accessable songs. Sometimes very quiet, melancholic and withdrawn but sometimes more experimental and unconventional with really cool song structures and patterns.

I'm not a Logh expert, I've just become a devoted fan, even if I have always enjoyed a Logh song when I've heard it.

Oh, and since all their cd:s have become critically very acclaimed I don't think you will hear anything really bad whichever cd you start with.
