View Full Version : Need Advice QUICK
Mrs. Mose just dropped something heavy on her toe, right where the nail goes into the skin. It's been about 10 minutes and her big toe is now about a third of the way filled up with blood. It's throbbing pretty good and she's not walking very well. How do you know when you have to go to the med station and have it drilled? I've offered to get my Dewalt but shrank away in fear after the look she gave me.
Any advice?

It really wouldn't hurt to have it checked out… she could have broken it.
Are you sure she didn't kick you... ;)

Yes. Call the advice nurse, don't ask us.
No... she puts on the steel toe boots I bought her if she's going to kick me :)
Hmm... I might have to forcibly place her in the car... Ever since she had the problems delivering the little guy she's been understandably bothered by hospitals.

I can understand that… I hate hospitals… but she needs to be able to walk to keep up with the little guy… :)

Have you tried prayer?
I went downstairs and found the proper sized drill bit, only for her to wuss out and demand I take her to a med station. We dropped the little guy off with his Grandparents and my mom looked at her toe... she agreed with me that Mrs. Mose is just a wuss. Of course I should mention she only took two Tylenol after having a C-section, no morphine or any of that crap... You'd think I would know better by know. Anyways, I took her to the med station and the Dr. said "I'm probably going to have to push on your toe to force the blood out". Well, he used this neat little cauterizer thingamajig that melted her toenail and blood started spurting out! She looked like Old Faithful, I practically had to duck and cover!
She's feeling better now, but won't be able to do point (that's ballet talk for the uninformed) for awhile... What makes it funny is she broke the same toe on her other foot about a month ago. Her nickname is Swan, let's just be polite and say she's not as graceful as you'd think ;)
Glad to hear the Swan is recovering. :D

I'm glad things were fixed and that all will soon be right. By getting her to the doctor you've helped her in the process of getting that toe better and (perhaps just as important) preventing dangerous infection.
