I was wanting to know to know if ya'll would like me to create a movie trailer thread. I am doing The JRS' MoFo DVD thread and, the Blog also.

I was thinking, do you want me to make one whole entertainment thread of news, trailers and etc ...or ???

I would like to know your thoughts

i would love to see something like that....why not?

Well I prefer to see the threads pop up for each movie concerning trailers and related information, it catched your eye and lets you check out something you've been waiting for. With a trailer thread you would not be able to spot new trailers arriving unless you checked through the thread which would take a bit longer.

Also if there was a trailer thread as you suggest then you would not be able to use the search function to find a particular movie trailer (thread title), plus if the thread got quite large then you may have to search through several pages to find the particular trailer you want. That's just my opinion as requested :) .

I think Spooky hit it on something... It would be great to have a thread dedicated to each movie with the thread containing news, trailer, etc and even consolidate all the comments/reviews of the film into that one thread. This could eliminate the need to have two threads, one about preproduction in Upcoming Movies and one about what people think of the film in the In Theaters thread.

I don't really use the news/blog/etc anyways so take my opinion for what its worth :)

would it be possible for Yoda to make a sub-section in the Blog?

Trailers are everywhere on the net, so I say no. Just keep linking the way you have in the past. Besides, like Spooky said, these threads will become enormous and bog themselves down in time.

You prefer threads on each film , with trailers and related information though no info of it in the Blog. That is like it has always been so basically I have been doing the Blog for nothing?

As for the proposed traler thread....All of the trailers would be on the first post in an alphabetical list, and as each new trailer is introduced, it gets placed into the list. There is NO searching the entire thread for the one you want when all you have to do is go to the first post.

Good question Eyes. For those who do read the Blog, I asked Chris to have it put in sections. news, trailers, DVD, contests, release dates, etc.

Hopefully that happens.

Am i too late? Well....
It would be nice to have access to trailers in an alphabetical list, however I like the upcoming movies forum and wouldn't like to see it become obselete.

I am sure noone wants to see the Upcoming Movies Forum be obsolete..It's just that the Blog might be.

TBh, and no offence because you do a brilliant job, i prefer the Upcoming Movies Forum and your regular posts on threads opposed to The Blog. Much of this is because i dont know where the blog is (:s) and i read most the information on BBC daily anyway.
I think i'll go and check the blog out now. :)

Jrs dont take it so personally, people just prefer seeing the trailers in their own threads as it allows a specific place to talk about and discuss them. you could also do it in the blog and then people could access them easier. it doesnt have to be one way or the other. but if you do decide to put it in the blog, dont get annoyed when people post and discuss the trailer in a thread.

Oh no. I am not taking it personally and getting "annoyed" when people post and discuss the trailer in a thread. Doesn't bother me at all.

I have been thinking since this morning, and that's exactly what I had in mind. I figured I would just post what I would like to share with you guys in the forums. Unlike before, with the blog, which I enjoy(ed) doing, there is no way of feedback. Here, I can get plenty.

Well, the blog has new trailers when they hit. You are saying to expand the blog and encompassing them in which way?

just what i said before, add a sub-section to include a db of trailers

Here's my opinion: The sidebar on the homepage is sorely lacking any updated information, i.e "Box Office" (where Spiderman 2 is still rated as number 1), "Reviews" (the latest being "Saw", and the "Quizzes" link (hmm M. Night quiz??!!). Can't you put something on the sidebar that consists of recent and anticipated movie trailers?

I also have a question for you, J. I noticed in your blog report (which is professionaly done and looks great, I might add) that you also are relating the most recent Box Office reports. Why not update the actual Box Office section of the forum instead of placing it there?

MoFo and its Blog are fully 'technically' run by Chris. Any additions, switches, bugs, glitches etc. are fixed by him. I am simply the Blog's post writer in contro; of what is written in the Blog.

Eyes - I have been asking Chris to add a sub-section on trailers ever since last year and so far he hasn't gotten around to it.

r3port3r66 and LordSlaytan - As for the sidebar with trailers, Box Office Reports and etc., I have been trying to sub-section everything in the Blog before.....though that has come to my mind previously. Good idea.

Are ya' listening Chris????? :D
