Not sure if this one has been discussed before...

Proving once again that no good film can has ever cast Freddie Prinze Jr., the House of Yes stars one of our favorite actresses, the lovely Ms. Parker Posey, as an insane Jackie O whose twin brother returns with his fiancé after Jackie O is released from a mental hospital. Strange times, relationships and dialogue ensue in this, one of the longest 85 minute movies I’ve seen. Of course it should be noted that I really don’t care for plays and this film comes across as nothing more than a ‘too smart for its own good’ stage play someone happened to film.

I LOVE this movie.
House of Yes explores with a fairly unjudgemental eye, a family dynamic off the beaten path. In fact, you can't even see the beaten path from their house. Parker Posey is brilliant in this role as a woman hanging on to sanity with nothing but her fingernails, whose family walks on eggshells in hopes she'll hold on. I think it's Freddie Prinze Jr's finest hour, and the rest of the cast (even Tori Spelling) are really solid. It's bizzarre, funny, shocking... and a pretty good cautionary tale about why people shouldn't pander to the lunatic fringe, no matter how much they love them.

I will certainly agree that Parker Posey was wonderful in the movie... I just didn't care for the film as a hole. As I said in my mini-review, it seemed like a stage play that someone happened to film, and for some reason I hate stage plays :)

Big fan of this film!

Parker is fantastic, and I found the subject matter compelling...
