Hey all,
I'm taking the next few minutes to bring you guys up to speed on what's been going on over here in Japan the last two years.

If you haven't seen Lost in Translation, I suggest renting it, or even buying it. One of my roommates bought it and I simply fell in love with the movie. I can identify with just about everything in the movie.

Alright, well since we last met up I've been transferred to another ship the USS COWPENS, which is a step up from my last ship the USS GARY. While these names mean little to you guys, I'm just letting you know. I was reading through the last thread started with an update from me, I was originally supposed to go the USS KITTY HAWK, which fell through and I ended up getting sent to the GARY. I did a year and a half on the GARY and transferred over to the COWPENS. I'm now a Yeoman Third Class. I'm speaking all these Navy terms leaving you guys clueless, and I apologize. Allow me to define what a Yeoman is. A Yeoman is a secretary, pretty much. We do much more than that, are expected to know our sh*t when it comes to certain things, but the best part about being a Yeoman, is that no matter what rank we are (i.e., i'm a Third Class right now) I can go anywhere in the world.

As far as where I've been in the past year or so, here's a few: Guam, Saipan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Russia (very nice), and Africa.

Enough about Navy life, here's some personal updates. I'm currently engaged to a girl I went to High School with. We're set to get married on the 29th of this month. Pictures to follow.

I'm making my return to the site gradually. You'll be seeing me posting on here more and more as the days pass.

I have a picture that was taken in India, I'll post it so you can refresh your memories of who I am.

In the shadows, I'll be watching.

Later,
Kent aka Spud aka Spudly aka Spudracer

Hello Kent. You "disappeared" before I had made my entrance to this place, but I've understood that you have been quite an important figure on MoFo. :D Your life sounds really exciting, getting to see all those exotic places and about to get married and all. Good luck with everything!

What was it about Russia that you liked?

Oh, and I'm Peter from Sweden... Nice to meet you.

Russia...hmmm, what's not to love about Russia? Well scratch that question, lemme break it down.

We pulled into Vladivostok Russia on July 1, I believe, and of course, it was cold. Had a lot of fun there, met some interesting people, beer was cheap.

I think there's something in the water that prevents the women from becoming ugly or aging. You could tell a few didn't get their hands on that particular water, but other than that, women were beautiful, the people were very friendly.

We had a barbecue on the pier on the 4th with the Russian Navy, and they were asking us why we had soda and beer, we just kept telling them that it's a traditional summer barbecue. Minus the summer. I'd say it was low 50s up there the entire time.

Great to meet you Pid, hope to be chattin with you on other posts.

AAAAh Mr Spud. I believe im the Same as Peter Piddy Poo, you had vanished and left your mark on the MOFO before i arrived. Its good to have you back tho, the Mods love you (I'd watch ya self now though, theres been some backtalk going around and it aint pretty). Sounds like ya living the life, when you went Russia did you buy one of those dolls with all the other dolls inside them? Theyre weird and rather pointless but suprisingly fun.

Welcome back :)

Yo, glad to see you've survived and one of your vessels has not fallen prey to a collosal squid (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/2910849.stm).

Hey guys...made it back home safely. Went through 13-14 hours of shear hell. Flying from Tokyo to Minneapolis...then a layover in Minneapolis until 3 in the afternoon to catch a two-hour flight into Oklahoma. It feels great being home. I really don't wanna go back

Congratulations with your getting married, Spud. I hope that when you're back to 'regular' life, you can come back to MoFo and entertain u swith your particular brand of insight.

Jeeze, sades, spud, mose, OG-, and occasionaly Thmillin...hasn't this been your dream for awhile now, Chris? Now if we can shanghai Patti, Sexy, Toose, and Caitlyn to start posting here regularly...it'll be the best of both worlds, and times.

Well, I figured I revive this thread, since I'm again re-introducing myself.

For those of you who have seen me posting on the boards the past few days. I'm Kent, better known as Spuds. I'm 24, in the Navy, and in Oklahoma. Don't ask me why I'm in Oklahoma, I just am. :)

I have my own site that I run where I design websites. I'm not going to advertise on here though, cause that would be rude. I will give you a hint, there's a link in my signature. :)

Hello to all the new people, hello again to all the regulars. And if you want to keep in touch with me..here's my Myspace (yes, I'm apart of the Myspace movement)

Welcome back...back :)

Late congrats on the nuptials. You seem a bit on the coy side about the Myspace thing, well don't be there are so many people I would never expect on, and using, Myspace. No need for any reluctance in that announcement.

Bump into you out there in the fray….I’m sure :)

I'm not one bit shy about the fact that I have Myspace. Some people see it as a weight. I actually use it to keep in touch with my friends that were in Japan, but have since transferred to other parts of the world.

If I was at all coy about it, my Myspace page wouldn't be so dressed up. :D Thanks for the comments though!

Hey, if MySpace is good enough for Weird Al ...

Well, I shouldn't talk, of course. I have a Xanga. Kinda like the generic, discontinued, clone version of MySpace.

I use it to embarrass family members.
