Greetings all here, I am brand new to this forum. I have a question which I hope someone here can answer. The movie "My 20th Century is a Hungarian film that won the Camera d'Or at Cannes in 1989. In the filmscore there is a chorus and orchestra part when the young twins fall asleep in a town square on a wintery night in Budapest after a tiring day trying to sell matches on the street. This music later returns when Lili and Dora (the twins who are now grown up) are wandering around in a labyrinth of mirrors. The music is pure magic and sounds like it was written by Verdi, Bellini or Donizetti. The credits that I have been able to find say that Lazlo Vidovszky is the composer of the filmscore. While Lazlo may actually have written most of the music for this film it sounds to my ears that the selection I am referring to was composed by one of the 3 Italian opera composers mentioned above. Does anyone here know who composed this chorus and orchestra section?
