Rent a movie. Don't support your local theater unless you're absolutely positive it's gonna have totally-radical-gnarly sound. And don't rent from Blockbuster.

So instead of supporting your local arthouse theatres which a lot of the time play classic movies because they dont have the "totally-radical-gnarly sound" you should support the huge corporate movie theatre monstrosities with UFOs perched atop the roofs?

I see what you're saying, why did you post this in the Good VS Entertaining thread? I support local 'arthouse' theaters to the fullest extent that I can. I like being able to see good movies from back in the day while drinking some brews, even if the sound isn't, yes, totally-radical-gnarly-sound. I don't support the huge coporate theaters that have aliens on rooftops. Give me some credit.

It may not have that much action. But The Girl Next Door is certainly funny. I'm sure you know it's available on dvd, an unrated edition.Elisha Cuthbert is one of the hottest and most beautiful Canadian imports this nation has been blessed with.

Action and Comedy? Well if we are talking about old movies, then for sure I would have to say "Lethal Weapon". There are 4 movies in the "Lethal Weapon" series that are excellent. The first and the second are by far the best though. Great for some laughs.

- Another good action/western is "Maverick" - this is another great Mel Gibson movie. This is set in the days of the Wild West in America. It is a comedy with less action, but some great twists and outstanding performances.

I seem to be on a Mel Gibson kick -- "Conspiracy Theory" is a fantastic movie as well. Lots of twists, action and mixed up with that witty Mel Gibson humor. Are you a fan of Julia Roberts - she is a great role in this too.

"I Robot" wasn't a good movie. It was somewhat of an interesting idea, but I didn't like how it was pulled off. The humor in this was nothing more than cheesy tongue-in-cheek one-liners. I was not a fan. You have the action, but there was some definite lacking in the "funny" department.Oh and the whole naked shower scene? Was that necessary? Yes we know Will Smith is all buffed out because of playing Muhammad Ali - but come on! How many thousands of dollars extra did he get for that? - but that is a whole other review all together. I wouldn't suggest this movie to anyone who would like a few laughs. This just left me feeling irritated.

Happy Viewing!

If you'll accept slapstick comedy as action pick up a personal favorite of mine, Brain Donors or if you prefer grab the original on which it was based, the Marx Brothers A Night at the Opera

Give Shaolin Soccer a go. I think it has all the elements of a great comedy going for it. As well as being stupid it is incredibly funny with superior chop sockey.
