I just finished watchig the whole of Kill Bill. I was going to write a review but I'm no good at that. But for those of you who are wondering if Kill Bill plays well as one movie, I found an old review that some of you might not have seen...
Empire's complete KILL BILL review! (http://www.empireonline.co.uk/site/features/special/killbill/default.asp#killbill)
I can't wait for the Special Edition DVD, I thought Kill Bill worked a lot better as one movie. What do you guys think?

Hey Parky I do think everyone does love Silver Bullet. To help ya out a bit just look at those rep points. Quite alot compared to a certain someone else. ;)
To bring this back to somewhere resembling its topic:
I have yet to watch Kill Bill as one 4 hour block, but from my observations on the two movies separately, I can't imagine it works too well.
Any objective opinions on this besides the Empire thing? Preferably from someone who wouldn't fellate QT upon meeting him.

i just looked up fellate and thats nasty.
Thank you. Quite enlightening.
I saw both movies a few months apart and loved them both, while in Hong Kong, with my friend Allan, I bought the both films from a market for $6.00 Australian, he wanted to watch them when we got back to our hotel, I loved them one after the other, Allan was so annnoying he kept asking me questions all the way through the 2 movies, like a 3 year old, all mothers know this one, BUT WHY?, all I can say thank god for single beds, and I am married to someone else, because i could not make LOVE with a man who doesn't love Quentin. ;)

i love it, i love tarantinos work. If you think this an ordinary movies, you must be on drug, This is classic tarantino, classic movie style in the way 50's 60's and 70's classcs were done, the western is obvioulsy in the 2nd one. road movies style and martial artisc comined with jaw dropping manga animation in the 1st one.

This is the most disgustingly written sentence I've ever seen in my life.
If you're going to "write reviews," as you say you want to, then LEARN TO WRITE OR GO AWAY!

I was absolutely delighted by this sentence, very KISS KISS, BANG BANG. It indeed fists like a clove.

No, I don't think it would work too well, since the movies look and feel very different. KB v1 is slick, colorful and kinetic. Lots of action, lots of switching styles, and very little dialogue.
KB v2 is gritty, with not nearly so much emphasis on the colors, and much more attention paid to the dialogue than in v1.
Two different movies that I don't think would mix well at all.
And now to bed.

I saw them (for the first time) within a week of each other, and that worked pretty well. As one movie, I think it would look pretty crammed-together.

As one movie, the climax of Kill Bill would come approximately one-hundred-and-thirty-six minutes before the end of the film, and that ain't good...
Didn't you write some sort of an essay on this very topic, Matt?
Care giving it a post?

I don't know? Did I? On my blog or in another thread?
I know that I've mentioned it before, but I don't recall having written an essay on it.

That'd be a long ass movie, noone's going to sit through a movie that long! I sat through Titantic(a great movie), and even that was torture. The anticipation for vol. 2 is the best part of the series...

That's SO not what I was saying at all.

Yes, the action climax was at the end of Vol.1. But the story's climax still lies in The Bride's confrontation with Bill.
The movies are both different to each other, but if they were never cut in half, would you say, "the 1st half of the movie was differnt to the 2nd half." You wouldn't really notice. A Clockwork Orange's 1st and 2nd halves were very different from one another. But no one seems to point that out.

No, I'd say, "That was uneven. And stolen from numerous other sources."

All his films are stolen from numerous other sources. That's what people should expect when seeing a Taratino movie.
