Best Man! Help!

One of my best friends has decided to get married! What's more, he wants me to be his Best Man! The wedding probably won't happen for another 8-12 months, but I have no idea what my responsibilities are. What exactly am I responsible for? I know a speech is required for the reception, but beyond that, I have no idea! Any advice?

Dunno about American weddings....seen em on TV. Hmm, carry the ring. Dress nice...start the speech off with a joke. And then make them kiss.

1. Get the groom to the church on time.

2. Hold the rings.

3. Give the first toast at the reception.

4. Host the bachelor party for the groom.

5. Stay with the groom up until the time of the ceremony.

There are a few other things such as taking care of all the ushers needs and overseeing the timetable to make sure everything runs on time, but that largely depends on what type of ceremony is being held. If it is a small ceremony instead of a large and stuffy one, then just pay attention to the big five. Hope that helped.
