It will always work because, you always get a multiple of 9 as your answer.

...and good call Kaiser, I didn't notice how it was changing everytime to be a new symbol on certain numbers.

That was too cool! If I understand what your saying correctly kaiser, then it makes sense. After following the instructions a few times it worked great. But just for fun sake, don't pick a number and instead just pick a symbol and click the ball....

Are you guys sure you're doing it right?

It should work every time. Say you choose the number 86. Add 8+6 (14) then subract that number (14) from 86 (72=9x8). All the numbers divisible by 9 share the same symbol, and reset everytime you try it, so it should work every time.
