Spaceballs

This is my first review, so you can go ahead and tell me what needs improved, but don't be to harsh.
" Spaceballs "
This is a great comedy by the ever awesome Mel Brooks. Starring Mel Brooks and Chris Farley, to name some more famous actors. It's plot is the evil citizens of Spaceball City have wasted their air and are going to steal the air from their peaceful neighbor planet Druidia, home of the Druish. With the evil plan to capture Princess Vespa and force King Roland to give Dark Helmet the combination to the air lock of Druidia. When Princess Vespa and her droid Dot meet the rouges Lone Star and Barf their fight to save Druidia and defeat Dark Helmet end up very funny. This movies has plenty of great jokes, some of the greatest comedic characters ever. All in all I just like it because well it a traditional Mel Brooks and its just extremly clever. Though I don't think its as good as Blazing Saddles, it is my next favorite, mostly because I'm a Star Wars fan and of course, it is hillarious. I also enjoy this (and all Mel Brooks) because its not just bathroom jokes and plain out perverted jokes, that in my opinion are sometimes funny, but are used way to much in todays comedies. I especially reccomened this for Star Wars Fans, or mabye Star Trek Fans, mostly because you'll understand the jokes better. Though of course almost anyone who has a sense of humor can sit down and love it.
I give it 4 stars.

Not bad… I do see a few errors… but I am not the best person to give advice… so… I suggest you check out some of the member reviews labeled “Important” in this forum… and be sure to read all of John’s review thread. He asked for help and was given some great advice on writing… :)

Hi there Colonel Sanders and welcome to the board!

A few tips for you to make your reviews more interesting for others to read.

You have one really good thing in the bag allready and that is keeping it short and simple. That is what I always have trouble doing, limiting myself. It's a review, not a thesis. Only problem is, your review is a bit too short.

Your structure of it isn't bad at all. You start up with telling us what the film is called, the genre and who directed it. Maybe it would be a good idea to also name a few of the actors starring in it. Then you move on to talk about the plot which is good, but say something more than just one line. Then in general you should tell us why you feel it's a good or bad film. What is it about it that makes it better or worse than other comedies? What's it like compared to other Mel Brooks films (I take it you're a fan)? Why is the storyline not that good? For those who perhaps haven't seen Spaceballs it would be useful to know why you think it will be extra funny for Star Wars or Star Trek fans.

Next time you write a review, try to make it twice as long as this one!

This is an excellent point that I just can't seem to get through my head. I tend to want to chatter all day about a film, especially if I like it. I would construct a clear, succinct outline beforehand, and try to adhere to it as best as you can. I do feel that injecting a little passion into a piece is also good technique. Draws the reader in more I think.

_SWe still love your reviews, even if they are long.

I personally think that my reviews are just long enough. I'd like to get it to where I can write my reviews in 500 words, or a little less or more, everytime. I did that with The Punisher. It's 529 words long. I feel pretty good about that.

I love spaceballs it is a fantstic movie, ive loved it for years Mel Brooks really is the master of spoof. As spoof films in the past few years have been dier, Hollywood is just making them for every movie that comes out, they do really suck.

When Mel Brocks charector President Skroob comes out of the teleportation its fantsatic that hes gone through all of that [being turned around] and he is only in the room next door.

John Candy as "Barf" is great as always, and love the parody to Chewy its awsome.

Rick Moranis as "Lord Dark Helmet" is possibly the best charector in the whole film. Just the size of the helmet cracks me up every time I see it. Its hilarious when he is talking like Vader and then ripps the mask up and he's sweaty and pantting as he cannot breath.

Pizza the Hut is awsome and a funny representation as Jabba.

My only bits of advice would be to seperate it into groups or paragraphs. It makes it look a little less daunting. Also, make sure that you have your info right before typing up the review. Chris Farley is NOT in the movie. Another heavy set man is. The name of the man in Spaceballs is John Candy.
