No, but I make a big glowing distinction between the concept and its underlying technology and using it as a speculative asset in and of itself. The fact that these things are lumped together kinda messes up the discourse around it.

I do stock market trading on the side. Not a lot, but a bit for the sake of creating investments for my later years. So Bitcoin seemed tempting when it first exploded here. I spent two months researching & learning all about the different coins & trends. Just when I was about to buy some, my goverment first banned them, & later unbanned them but imposed heavy taxes on their trading. So that was it for me.

The bubble for these coins has burst anyways now, so investing long term in them is stupid. However, if you do keep an eye out you might see good opportunities from time to time. I know some made a quick buck after Trump's victory cause the bitcoin got a short but strong upward push for a short time. But its value has descended again.

I have known plenty of day traders over the years.

Trying to make any substantial amount on the crypto markets is probably as "safe" as trying to make it big in the casinos in Las Vegas.... maybe one chance in a billion, but most of the time you just lose a lot of money.

I would say, take compound interest over bitcoin any day of the week and twice on Sunday....

Not as such. I did buy some medicine online that was hard to import using crypto, for around $200. They didn’t accept any other forms of payment, and I got the delivery fine, so can’t complain. The medicine was fine, too. But that’s about it.

I don’t invest in crypto.

No, I do recall a Bitcoin ATM at a local convenience store (not pictured below). It is no longer there. I looked at it as a curiosity more than anything else.
